Hi, my problem is that I have a GT-i8160P. I updated it from 2.3.6 Gingerbread (spain orange) to 4.1.2 (spain) without any guide, only using Odin. When i saw the ram, i thought, "this should be normal", but i've seen on the Internet that people have 624mb ram. How can i solve that? any guide?. I can't install for example, the portuguese 4.1.2 TMN because with the pit and without the pit gives me an error in the cache.img.md5 and after that appears the pc screen, and i have to re-flash with spanish 4.1.2. ANY HELP?
THANKS A LOT

555mb
there is a process for having 624 with jelly bean, but i can't follow it, neither downgrade to 2.3.6
I have the same problem, I tried all of these:
- flashing the MB2 with/without repartition with the PIT file provided by izap;
- flashing the MB2 with PIT file that I extracted from my phone using Heimdall;
- flashing only normal.bin (secondary bootloader, this file most probably includes parameters for reserving of RAM) from MB2 with Heimdall;
- flashing i8160 TMN MC8;
all of these failed. The last one (TMN MC8) even increased my flash counter because of "Custom modem" so I had to reset it.
I think that all we can do now is to find someone with i8160P running Gingerbread who can extract the SBL from his phone.

Hello guys.
I own a 8160P with GB 2.3.6 XXLK3 so I think I can help you with that.
How can I do a full phone ROM extraction, include SBL ?
And how to restore it later ?

FIXED
Well... i fixed it, it's better 624mb RAM. I have a pair of questions that i'll post later
1-Root the phone with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2139263
Do this only if NFC
1.1-Download Root Browser from google play
1.2-Open root browser, and go to /system/build.prop , open with text editor
1.3-EVERYTHING YOU SEE with "GT-i8160P", change to "GT-i8160", without the P
2-Download this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2342997, only the file "cm-10...", not gapps
3-Run CWM temporal recovery, attached at the end of the post, and make a full backup
4-After that, follow the instructions of the post of cyanogenmod, and even if wipe data/cache is recommended, I got bootloop if not do that
5-You will have 624mb Ram (i used france rom XXFM1, not sure if others function), verify that in About the Phone, in settings
6-Go to CWM recovery, wipe data and cache, and restore the backup of before
7-Boot the phone, see in the tasks admin if you have 624mb ram
THANKS TO: dh.harald for his amazing ROM
PS: I recommend you to stay in dr.harald CM

hello everyone,
Must say without alot of your great posts and walkthroughs i wouldn't of even considered the wicked things my little Gio can do. But i have seem to always have 1 problems when flashing my cell.
I get a "No Service" after 6 hours and can never get it to pick up my Virgin Sim card. I have tried GioPro 1.2 to 1.6, CyanogenMod 7 and 9 and even some Europe firmwares that are supposedly work with it.
So i am assuming that alot of these firmswares/roms don't work with Canada services or phones/areas or is this a common glitch in custom roms. Any help or direction on fixing a issue like this would be more then amazing right about now.
thank you all for your time
Vaughn
after flashing gioprio, it also flashed your baseband. flash a stock rom based for the m model, or flash a baseband only, wich is for the M mode, and you're fine

i have never thought of that, thank you so much. I will report back with my results!
ok this is where you guys start to hate me, tried figure out where to locate a stock baseband and i got a one package for giopro 1.0 (GioPro_v1.6.tar) and my stock firmware for bell/virgin phone (GT-S5660M_BMC_S5660MUGKG3_S5660MUGKG3_S5660MBMCKG3.tar) and finally my GIO_v1.0.ops.
but where about do i locate a stock baseband for the 5660m or am i replacing one files from the stock firmware (GT-S5660M_BMC_S5660MUGKG3_S5660MUGKG3_S5660MBMCKG3.tar) to the GioPro custom (GioPro_v1.6.tar),
i hate to be that guy but i been battling this for a few weeks.

Can you flash a ROM to get European 3G frequencies with a Canadian phone?
I could compile a .tar.md5 of the S5660MUGKG3 Baseband only if you want?
(Flash it through Odin)
Because I have a GT-S5660M model also, so I always keep a backup of Stock Rom in my PC.
SUCESS! for now that is.
I was able to create a AMSS only .tar for flashing using Cygwin Terminal and this command
cd /cygdrive/c/baseband
tar -xvf S5660MUGKG3_S5660MUGKG3_S5660MBMCKG3_home.tar amss
tar -H ustar -c amss > S5660M AMSS.tar

then was able to flash just the one package, seems to have left the other parts of the GioPro Rom installed.

Can this method be used to enable European 3G frequencies on the Gio?
Was having the same issues as OP - then realized I incorrectly flashed to 2.3.6 (for the 5660), now I'm trying to get back to stock 5660M 2.3.4 after downloading the S5660MUGKG3_S5660MUGKG3_S5660MBMCKG3 hotfile from droidangel - problem being it isn't a one file md5/tar... the rar contains like 9 files, image files and rfs. I've attached the rar contents.
View attachment 1132111
How do I use these files?? If it's not possible, does anyone have a lead on a one file for the stock 5660M 2.3.4 from Canada?
fyi, unrooted, unlocked
Thanks in advance
sob.... thought I had figured it out, went to samfirmware, got excited - their file was a different size from the droidangel...unfortunately same garbage, same list of image & rfs files instead of a single md5/tar

what a jackass I am
I'm only posting this because I have a low level of shame and I noticed a few others while googling who were having the same problem as me..hopefully this helps them
the solution and why i'm a jackass = i was unraring the tar file..hence the contents (image, rfs etc) which were not useable by odin
i was selecting the wrong file... trying to use odin to select one of the files inside the tar... after uncompressing the tar....
brutal... anyway, hopefully this helps others
Help!
Okay guys, Heres my problem... And I need guidelines because im new to all this. I installed the fake ics on my phone and because it started to limit what I could do on my phone I decided to go back to android 2.2. I used odin to go back but I think i selected the wrong Rom for my network and where I live. I live in Canada and I use Virgin mobile as my network. Now that I got Android 2.2 back I never get any network! How do I flash a new Baseband Version? and Where do I get the Baseband version for Bell/Virgin? Also If you could give me the download for The Official Android 2.2 rom and not a custom one.. it would be nice =)
It's going to be 2.3 (Gingerbread) and not 2.2 (Froyo) that you'll want to install.
There have been multiple posts and you should just have used the search function, then asked whatever questions you might have had left.
Get the MUGK3 stock ROM from here or samfirmware, flash it with Odin.
Again, simple, beginner stuff for which there are multiple tutorials. The search function is your friend.

Yeah it's that --> MUGKG3
If you are on EXT4, don't use it with ODIN. It'll bootloop your phone.
It's fine if you're on a RFS filesystem

Lol Im new to android, Whats ext4 and RFS? And What else instead of odin can do it with? also I have the GT-S5660, NOT THE GT-S5660M so does it make huge difference?
Sobey, I got your message, but really this is the sort of discussion best kept in the thread. If you got your phone from VMC, it's a 5660M. In fact, a GT-S5660 would not work with Virgin at all.
Peteragent5: He could flash the whole stock MUGKG3 ROM with Odin and reformat /cache and /data with the stock recovery.

But in About Phone it says GT-S5660 but ill trust your word. So I should download the Mugkg3 rom and use odin to get it into my phone? and do empty cache and data? Okay ill try this now and let you know if it works. I need your help with one more thing, Last time i used odin I followed a tutorial for where to put each file in which odin slot such as BOOT, PHONE, PDA, etc etc. Can you tell me which file needs to go in which slot? Or is it one package and I just click open package? Sorry man for asking to many questions but itll really help. Also I cant find the ops file!

You could make the "About Phone" model string say anything by editing the proper file. As I've said before: if your Gio worked with Virgin Mobile Canada at all, it a 5660M. The Europe/Asia 5660 doesn't have the proper HSPA bands.
Look up the differences between the different Gio models. Now. Use the search function.
There's also one or two tutorial threads here with both Odin 4.42 and the GIO_v1.0.ops file linked.
The stock rooted ROM I uploaded a while ago, as well as the OEM one from samfirmware.com are usually the "one package" kind. If you're unsure, open the tar (or tar.md5) file with a proper archiving program (7-Zip works well and is free open-source) and have a look. There should be many files, including but not limited to: amss, arm11boot, mibib, oemsbl, qcsbl, boot.img, recovery.img and system.rfs.
Quick recap:
Flash the MUGK3 ROM with Odin.
If the phone bootloops, got in the stock recovery and do a factory reset, in other words, reformat the partitions.
Done!
Hi All,
Good Day!
I have an upgraded Android 4.2.2 for my Samsung Galaxy Wonder GT-I8150 but somehow I just don't like the way the battery drains faster. I would like to revert back the changes I did, I want to downgrade back to 2.3.6 Gingerbread.
I used Odin when I upgraded my phone to 4.2.2 and just followed the tutorial in the internet sites and downloaded the necessary files to upgrade.
Now I am currently looking for the tar file for 2.3.6 but for now I have no luck because the hotfile site was already shutdown. But I am still hoping to find one.
Here are my questions:
1. Is the procedure of downgrading is the same with Upgrading?
2. If ever I could not able to find the tar file or the image for 2.3.6, is it possible to use the image that I backed up when I was upgrading to 4.2.2? If so, Can you give me the details or procedures on how to do it please?
Any replies are highly appreciated.
Thank you.

I just have a problem on that thread, I can't able to post a reply due to the reason "New members (those with fewer than 10 posts) are not permitted to post to development-related forums."
I would like to request to them to have a mirror for the stock ROM for Philippines since Hotfile is not hosting anymore.

Hello guys!
I have an Ace2 (which was on Android 2.3.6) and tried to install CM11. At first it didn't work, because I had no CWM. So I flashed a Kernel with CWM and installed the CM11-ROM via CWM. That was no problem. But when I was setting up the ROM, I realised that I had no mobile/phone connection at all.
So I tried to install a few stock firmwares via Odin. The installation always finishes with no errors. But when I boot the phone it does not get any further than to the Samsung-startscreen.
And I can't access the recovery mode anymore! Only Odin-Mode is still possible.
Is there an option to get my phone back to some kind of stock state.
Please help me out!

Try to re-flash into stock rom, the jellybean version. If you had a problem with the network maybe there's something wrong with the csc file

I have to stock upgrade to JB first, BEFORE I flash custom JB ROMs.
I'm already loading a 3-part firmware, from that thread you gave me. Although the first link did not work, I hope there is the same (3-part) firmware in the second link.
U mean u are downloading from this link http://d-h.st/AZN ? (I8160XXLK6.zip)

Yep, that's exactly what I'm downloading @ the moment.
And those are the 3 parts for Odin which should bring the phone back to GB-stock?
PDA: CODE_GT-I8160_I8160XXLK6_CL1211243_REV00_user_SEC_KEY_LK6_4G.tar
CSC: CSC_GT-I8160-MULTI-CSC-OXELF1_SEC_KEY_4G.tar
PIT: GT-I8160_EUR_XX_4G
Did I get that right?
I just don't want to mess it up again...
And btw:
I already tried a I8160XXLK6 but it was a single-file firmware and had no effect on my problem.
I need the 3-parts including CSC and PIT, right?
It doesnt work? Huh dunno why.
Lets trust @teddysten and upgrade to JB, it might work
If it wont u will have to do some research and find 3-part GB rom
The single-file firmware did not work for me!
I haven't tried the 3-part firmware yet, from the link that you gave me. In about 10 minutes the download will be finished and I'm going to try it immediately!
Well. Remember that after flashing first booting (samsung logo ANIMATION) takes a while.
if u will still have this issue after downgrading to GB then upgrade it from this to JB anyway because it might work (dont ask me how, i dont know how so i wont explain). For now im out and ill visit XDA tommorow (earliest).
soo Good Luck and i hope that others will help u too if u will get some problems.
I am here if you need help
What version of you Odin do you have ?
Ok...
I downloaded the 3-part firmware to get back to GB stock.
That worked.
Then I installed the original JB-firmware from my provider.
That worked too.
So I'm happy again and everything is working!
Thanx a lot guys!!!!! :highfive:

That worked too.
So I'm happy again and everything is working!
Thanx a lot guys!!!!! :highfive:

Well you've learnt your lesson. Never try to flash from GB to KK
Sent from my GT-I8160 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thank you so much. I was in this EXACT situation (GB to KK) and tried everything; pretty much every GB single-file ROM I could file. The 3-part ROM did the trick though! DD I'm literally so grateful right now I put in the effort to sign up and post this thank you message... that's a lot of effort for me xD
Hi all!
My problem is in the title, can anybody help me? :/
Have you tried flashing stock again?
Already done, doesn't work..
(It's a GT-8160p)

Have u tried the return to full i8160 guide in development section?
Hi,
I have the same problem for 3 days now and I'm still trying to fix this but nothing helps.
I have done nearly the same like user "ppero196" in thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2416791. So far I have made only standard wipe (User Data Wipe/ Factory Reset, Cache Partition and Dalvik Cache) and flashed a lot of novafusion's roms without problems until I wanted to have a completely "clean" phone with new novafusion rom and formatted every partition in CWM I could find including modem partition too. (double facepalm)
I flashed several stock firmwares according to the instructions of the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2025096. Also 4.1.2 firmwares...
Still Baseband XXXX. I guess it has something to do with the modem partition and I should do something like dd if=/storage/extSdCard/mmcblk0p12.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12 (pperos196's thread) or am I wrong? But the file is for S3 mini...
Can anybody help please?
Try flashing 3 part fw(i8160P)
I've 8160 (without P)
and I tried flashing 3-parted rom without success: http://uploaded.net/file/rn2ewsea (Standard_I8160XXLL2_3tlg_bitstopfen.zip.zip)
from forum: http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...zu-2-3-6-3teilig-i8160xxll2-germany-root.html
There seems to be problems with Odin flashing modems. So I followed the instructions:
Ok it worked.
If anyone else is having issues with the baseband not changing, do this.
Use Odin v3.04
Untick Autoreboot
Flash modem
Reboot once again into Download Mode using (Vol Down plus Home button combi)
Flash Modem once more
Once done, unplug then reboot device manually.
If this doesn't work, try repeating the flash process again while rebooting manually and with auto-reboot option turned off.
http://www.android-hilfe.de/custom-...-2-3-6-3teilig-i8160xxll2-germany-root-2.html post #2 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025
But with Odin 3.04 occurs another error: Complete(Write) operation failed.
Im going crazy :silly:
For all who facing still the same problem... Flash FULL 3-Parted FW accoring to your Phone (as teddytsen already mentioned) but I think some links are helpfull.
Futhermore this is also recommended if you want to go back from any CM10.1/10.2/11 ROM to Samsungs stock GB/JB.
For 8160 and 8160L we have only an GB FW 3-parted available! But you can flash any JB (according to your phone) afterwards if you like....

Hi. I'm pretty sure it has to do with modemfs partition. For some reason it doesn't seem to be fully restored with stock firmware.
You should be able to restore it with someone else's backup, like in pperos thread where I helped him.
No IMEI is stored there. :good:
If I had such a backupfile, I would have already tried this. Where could I get such a modemfs backup? I'm not allowed to write to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145464 as I have not 10 posts...

If someone with the same model would be kind enough to make a backup and share it, then you and others would be able to restore it.
No more baseband:XXXX
We got it shared in the s3mini forum and it works well.
I've just tried the app efs to restore internal NVRam after it was not possible for me to do it via the service menu. -> no success
So I'm now trying to catch 5 more post to be able to write to the nvram backup/restore thread (mentioned in post #11)
Problem solved! Look for: http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...d-xxxx-kein-mobiles-internet.html#post7813122

DJM is me....
Hi all. After i installed a bugged chronokernel (that one who didn't go on recovery mode), i can't enter anymore on recovery. I changed a lot of firmwares, it stucks with a black screen and randomly sometimes it let me in. Now i'm back on stock JB with stock recovery, and it's stucked there almost all the time, so i can't use temporary CWM to do backups/restore or install new kernel/roms.
Please help me

Begin from scratch and flash 3-parted GB FW according to you phone (with odin)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53921158&postcount=8
Then JB and then CM if you want... But Data is away.. Please keep this in mind.

I've already flashed with Odin to stock FW, already wiped everything, still same bug. Now i have a new ChronoKernel and this bug happens less often. I wanted to format /boot partition, but kernel and CM already do that.
That's what i've done:
-Stock JB with stock kernel flashed with Odin, bugged
-Stock JB with ChronoKernel, bugged
-CM 10-11 with stock kernel, bugged
-CM 10-11 with ChronoKernel, bugged
I don't think i can solve that flashing a GB FW, i've used JB from samfirmware, it should do the same.

Belive me This is not a "normal" GB FW!!! This is a 100% complete FW which overwrites everything on your Phone!
Flash 3-Parted GB, Flash JB for your Phone and country, Flash CM you like!
Keep in mind that your Data is lost in this case.

NO - These are never complete FWs - They are containg only parts of the whole partitions from phone.
If you do not belive me I cannot help you

Sorry, i think you are right... I didn't notice it was 3-Part GB. I'm still not sure if i want to do that because i have a stable CM 11 right now.
Btw, I flash 3-part GB with odin, I flash JB with odin, then CWM right?

YES - This is what I wrote ("Flash 3-Parted GB, Flash JB for your Phone and country, Flash CM you like!")
But if you have stable CM there is no need!

Ok, i did it, but nothing changed still same bug
Did you flash the 3-parteed GB FW with ODIN adjusted like here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426437
WITH re-partition and the three seperate files?

Yes, i did it. I used PIT for re-partition and PDA, Odin didn't allow me to use CSC, but i think it's just for custom softwares. It well all good, but bug is still here.
It's like my phone is broken now, i made another post about the battery drain i have since i installed ChronoKernel.... dunno what's wrong
