Always the same request
The better ROM and kernel depends on the utilisation of your phone and your needs.
Don't flash any AOSP based ROM if you want to keep S Calendar....
I could suggest you to try 2~3 ROMs on AOSP base and 2~3 ROMs TW base then you will be able to chose the kind of ROM you prefer. Next just flash AOSP/TW based ROMs and related kernels.
You can like AOSP Roms (like me) but there are big differences between a CM 10.1 and a RootBox for example (CM10.1+PA+AOKP).
And finally concercning the kernels the better thing to do is to read the features and try yourself! The better point of view is yours

I find that Kernels are a but confusing.I would like to know of a good sense kernel for Wildfire rom.And where to download the Kernels.I have downloaded nFinity mc4 just don't know if it is a sense kernel or not as I'm putting together my own rom. Thanks for your time.
(Edit All Good Problem Solved.)
Better stick with that kernel, or the one from cm7 nightly ( the one in my signature ), as HTC Kernels don't allow overclock. ( correct me if I'm wrong )
I am using kernel nFinity mc4 to HTC Wildfire Froyo 2.2.1 stock rom and use setCPU for OC to 768 MHz (480MHz min. and 691MHz max) Kernel good works.

You are using the Kernel not the rom...
But nvm what I said, as that Kernel has some bugs ( cannot connect to wireless hotspots ) + battery drains quite fast.
Nevertheless kernel nFinity mc4 is the one I use now and its the best so far ( in my opinion ) It allows OC and seems quite easy on the battery.
I have bored in stock rom.
So i want to use custom rom.
What is the best custom rom for desire?
What's best for some may not be the best for you. So try a couple. And it wouldn't hurt to use search next time. You wouldn't believe how many search results the strings "best, rom, stable, fast, recommended" would give you.

What's the best ROM? Depends on what you like, so try them ALL.
CyanogenMOD7 - AOSP fast and small
dGB - Pure AOSP and VERY VERY Fast
Oxygen - Pure AOSP faster than CM7 but slower than dGB
Runnymede AIO Special Edition - Very fast for a sense 3.5 ROM, looks nice too!
MIUI - Heard it's fast, never tried it
^ Those are my favorite, you can also consider flashing a different HBOOT to increase the internal space in /data, but that's a different story.

I was on Project X for a while, had a lot of issues. Probably had a bad flash. Most notably my camera/camcorder was.. buggy to say the least. Only worked about 5% of the time. I returned to stock last night and it's amazing how much smoother my phone is. Camera works perfectly. It's like having a brand new phone all over again.
But I am wondering what kind of mods, if any, are available to me at this point? I know most of them require a custom ROM or come with custom ROMS. Just wondering if there are mods available to me if I stay stock?
Most of the touchwiz Roms are based on stock roms with added mods. So whatever mods are included in let's say.. Project X. They'll work perfectly fine in fresh stock Roms. Look in the themes and apps section or look in the OP of the custom Roms. It has links to most mods.

Yes and even an Odexed AIO tho I think it's an older version.

^That is what I used to return to stock. GB28 for Virgin.
Then yes you are Odexed
Check out K.O.'s thread for stock odexed and deodexed..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38923705
Just make sure to choose odex...and that you flash an agats kernel 1st

I have a epic touch that I use for my racing simulator as a digital dashboard. I don't need it to have any other function but this. So all i really need is the playstore. Can anyone suggest and completely stripped rom with good battery battery performance. Right now I'm on Vlluminati cm11 and uninstalled everything i don't need. But if with that... I'm getting bad battery life. Would i be better off with a stock rom?
You could try my ROM, Project X. It is stock based and there is a bare bones version.

If that's all you need, why not go back to Gingerbread? CM7?

The app im using has some features thats only available on 4.0 or higher. But I'm willing to loose those if the battery life on gingerbread is substantially better
