[Q] Edit .zip Files in Mac OS X

Hi Guys!
I have tried to edit flashable zip files on my Mac (OS X Lion). I wanted to add some mods to ARHD 6.2.0... I tried using BetterZip to open and edit those zip files. That seemed to work good until I flashed it. I am stuck in a bootloop now... Now, do you guys have some instructions for me on how to edit flashable zip files on a mac? Which software do you use?
thx in advance!
I'm using the commandline version pf 7zip on linux to edit .zip files. Maybe the same app exists for mac?
Thx! Will try that! Is there an app with a GUI too ?

I'm not sure. I remember trying to find one myself for my MBP but gave up and did the work on my desktop instead. Post here if you find one, preferably in this way: 'Dear people from the future, I did find an app...'
wow... I downloaded the p7zip archive. But I dont know how to install it i tried:
Code:
cp makefile.macosx_64bits makefile.machine
make app
I get a looooong list of errors and stuff... but no app
help!!
EDIT: I tried macosx_32bits too... think the issue is, that I dont have wxwidgets installed. But I cannot find a version for OSX Lion???!
Does nobody in here uses a Mac to modify zips??

THX!!! that one did it for me! MacPorts is a really nice site! Bookmarked it!
FYI, I found another possibility: I used the Android Kitchen from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=5626292
That seems to work too
iZip
iZip is a little know but effective zip editing tool. It's a bit slow on large amounts of file changes and it doesn't seem to allow you to update files on a mounted zip file, but otherwise it's pretty ok

Have you even bothered trying to find the answer for yourself? There is a thread on this forum called rooting the 8.3.1 from scratch with detailed instructions.
Sorry for the flame but this is ridiculous.

Do not install anything from this forum or used and utilities or methods here. You will end up with a permanent brick!!!! Make sure you know which second gen device you have. There is the kindle fire 2 the kindle fire hd 7 and then the 8.9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1789 I`m pretty sure the methods are all different with different files and TWRP is your only option for these devices unless I missed something.
All the Roms posted here in kindle fire forum are only for the first gen devices.

First of all you should use this thread to install second bootloader and load twrp on your device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2100963
Then all roms in this thread are roms for the kf2/otter2: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1789
And also there are official cm10.2 nightlies available here: http://get.cm/?device=otter2
Hope this helps...

Guess we both need to read a little better this is the correct place to get help for your device. There currently is no CWMR for your device only TWRP. That made me think you were looking at the first gen KFU to use on your device which will surely brick it. @flopower1996 led you down the correct path I do not believe he would lead you wrong for your system version. follow his advice and you should be fine.

HTC ONE XL can't acess storage divice option and go into recovery menu

I'm sorry, I might be in the wrong forum but since there's no ONE XL lol. So I bought this ONE XL from Hong Kong and I'm in Mexico. I got the phone and everything was great until it prompted me to update my software so I clicked yes, it updated to 4.1 something with sense 4+ and then it prompted me to update again so I clicked yes. Thing is it updated to 4.2.2 with sense 5. Everything was good until I realized I could access my phone as storage divice so I can't transfer file in or out of it. There is no CONNECT TO PC option. And another thing, it erased the SPANISH phone language (i need it because i share the phone with my gf). So I did some research and found out about morelocale 2 which would allow me to add Spanish back again but turns out I need SU access. So I thought it would be much easier to just flash a rom and use something with 4.0.3 again. The phone was already sim-unlocked and with S-OFF so all I did was unlock the bootloader but when I flash a recovery like clorckwork or twrp it goes to a white HTC SCREEN LOGO and in red letters thes this "this build is made for development purposes only...." and then it reboots like 3 times and starts the phone up normal again. Anyone knows what can I do? Or what am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Sorry about the long explanation.
Don't make a thread here AND in the Q&A section ! In the Q&A section your question is answered. Follow the advice and go to the HTC one XL forum because it just simply exists

Yep as Mr hofs said don't open many threads and there exists a forum for one xl...just search better....also you can even use Google like HTC one xl xda or so....!

CyanogenMod 11 kitkat

Hi people. When we have the OFFCCIAL CyanogenMod 11???
Highly unlikely.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
One of the developers would have to bring it in line with the main Cyanogenmod source tree, which considering the age of our device and the many, many workarounds our tireless devs have employed to get Kit Kat running on the DHD, this would not be an easy task (and quite frankly would gain us very little for all that work). So yeah, don't hold your breath

There was no official cyanogenmod 9, 10 or 10.1 for our device either. It is a miracle we have unoffiical CM 11 builds.
I would have thought official CM9 was fairly possible though.
Mod please delete this thread and it's even in a wrong section

Does it matter, most official builds of cm11 are done by xda own developers that have gotten permission for cyanogenmod.inc to use their hosting servers. They aren't any more stable then the builds here. And the dev here now is perfect, one of the best devs I seen to get cm stable so quickly
