I have a Dinc that bootloops at the splash screen. I can get into Hboot/Fastboot but cannot get into Recovery (bootloops again). I was able to flash the latest(?) 4.08.605.15 PB31IMG but no change. The device is S-on with the 1.07 hboot. There are several possible ways to recover the device but only if I can flash the .77 ENG Hboot (or get S-off somehow). I have the Hboot img but it will not flash. If i try to flash in hboot it just reads the file then skips it. If I try to flash through fastboot it gives me a signature verify error. I have tried flashing it with the HTCdev unlock and with it relocked but no dice. I believe my only hope is to try and repartition the device or flash a nv image that I have for the Dinc but I am gonna need an ENG bootloader/S-Off for that.
Anyone know any tricks I may have missed or know of a way to get S-off with only hboot/fastboot?
Thanks for any assistance as I have been working on this on and off for a week now, I appreciate any help

i rooted via unrevoked 3.2.1 and now i need to unroot to return the phone... i downloaded the new RUU but i need to turn S-on first right? i keep flashing the s-on tool and it says it installs correctly but the next time i boot it up it still says s-off. i flashed it like 35 times and it keeps saying s-off, why isnt it working? Please help... time is of the essence.
That is easy. What boot loader are you using? If it is an engineering boot, like the one Needed for cyanogenmod, it will always say s-off. Just flash s-on a few times and then use the ruu. Boot into boot loader after to make sure s is on. Should Be as simple as that.
i tried rooting with autoroot and it failed now im stuck at the bootloader i tried flashing the 3.70 img but it never worked
download a RUU from the following link http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Supersonic
plug phone into computer and run the ruu...this will return you back to stock...then check out what hboot version you have by powering phone off and then hold volume down and then power until u boot into bootloader ..if you have hboot 2.02 or 2.10 follow the following thread to root... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829045
if you have something different than above, you most likely can use unrevoked to root...ex hboot .76 etc
good luck
if you have a different

Please help :-(
Can you access fastboot?
ahh thnx mate,
i used Fastboot Commander,
i have unloacked the HBOOT,
now running the RUU again
I had Oxygen hboot installed but wanted to switch back to original ROM. I Ran RUU but forgot to replace hboot with original one.
Now i have gray HTC in middle and /!\ in corners.
I can run RUU again and it recognizes the phone, but gives ERROR[152]:IMAGE UPDATE ERROR and recovery option doesn't help either, ends up with same error while retrying.
I can't boot into bootloader with power+vol. down
Any suggestions what to do next ? Is there any solutions ?
Nevermind, Fastboot worked. Flashed correct hboot, ran RUU again and it's working now.
please help
Can you be more specific for a noob?! I have the exact same problem and i'm desperate. What exactly did you do?
You need to fastboot flash (using commands or android flasher) the Alpharev downgrader image like it says on the alpharev site. Basically the same way you flashed your current hboot.
done
thanks guys, mine is working too now
Hi guyz!
I just bought a second hand Desire from a guy i dont know, and it seems it has some issues. I know it is not bricked as i can enter the bootloader and the fastboot mode. But that's all. I cannot access any recovery i flash, or boot any rom.
I flashed several RUU's via bootloader, one of them is booting but it reboots as soon as it settles down. Others dont even boot.
I am familiar with flashing, with fastboot and all that, i just have no experience in HTC Desire.

So this is what i get. Is there a method to get some working ROM on this one, other than flashing RUU's that doesnt seem to work? Or flashing with recovery?
I have flashed clockwork recovery via fastboot, it still doesnt work. It vibrates 7 times than the screen stays at the htc logo.
Maybe there is a fastboot method to inject all the stock stuff into the phone? And maybe somebody have those img's?
Many thanks, guys!
I'm trying to return my Desire to stock, to sell it with the original settings. I ran the UK vodafone RRU, but halfway through it exited, I guess because it tripped over the Alpharev bootloader. It chucked me out and now I just have fastboot. I can't reboot into a rom, only fastboot. Worse still, I've gone back to S-ON.

What can I do from here? Is there a zip I can copy to my phone for the bootloader to pick up?
Boot on fastboot and reflash the ruu. Don't forget to check md5! Also you may need a goldcard

Also try to acquire the latest Vodafone RUU - maybe that helps.
If not - try to use a WWE RUU with a goldcard, if possible.
I tried running the vodafone rru and it fails at the same point every time.
I am gutted. An experienced flasher and I think I've ended up with a fastboot brick.
I don't have a goldcard. I can't make one as I don't have access to adb via fastboot.
Please tell us at point it fails.. what error code or message it shows.
You might try this too... try to bring your boot partition to Bravo by flashing below PB99IMG.zip file
http://alpharev.nl/PB99IMG_downgrade.zip
Rename above file as PB99IMG.zip and Put this file into root of ur memory card.. and volume down and power on.. it will falsh.. than try ur RUU
try this it worked for my Vodafone Desire.
bortak you absolute star, I did much the same and have been hunting for an RUU that works. Sorted now.

I pressed the thanks button on your post. I was eventually able to flash the rru (the wwe one) and recover my phone after about 4 attempts to make a working goldcard. Wow, that was a close one.
