Modem not working properly

I find that I have to toggle airplane mode on and off a lot to get my phone to toggle back to 4g. It gets stuck on E and won't flip back unless I turn airplane mode on and off. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Custom ROM? Stock? Could always flash a different modem and see if that makes a difference.

No it was an older release. I updated it and loser rom earlier to the newest releases. It seems to have fixed it so far. Thanks for the help maybe I won't have anymore issues.

Invisible lockscreen?

I was on a rom that had the pattern unlock with the feture to turn the little circles off but still have to do the gesture. Can someone tell me how to do this on a tw rom or what the old rom was called. All I remember is that it was cm based

Volume up/down (can't remember which one, pretty sure it is down) and power button since this is AOSP. And I think you mean you know there is no swipe motion.
Sorry, I just had to read that sentence 3 times to understand what you put.

Yes. I had it on every version of 4.1.2. that I flashed. Stock, Jellybeast, and JMT build 4,5,6.
All clean app installs as well. It is an app bug and not a rom bug. Instagram had a couple of updates during that time, but never
fixed it.
Now, I am on 4.2.2 and it works perfect.

I think you can disable HW overlays under Dev Options and fix this.. (You have to do this on each reboot)

It depends on what ROM you are running. There are scripted cooked ROMs that will do this by default.
The problems with Instagram is the app doesn't function well with the standard AOSP JB feature of HW overlays. Once you disable them you are taking away from what was the major selling point between ICS and JB in the first place.

I'm running plain stock/rooted T989UVMC6. But the blinky thing only happens on the filers page and only the filter controls blink. They still work but blink on & off randomly.

Running it as a new flash, or "now" meaning you already had it but didn't know about the option? I like that it's so quickly accessible from the power menu.
