I have a Galaxy Note 8 rooted that reboots itself randomly when screen is off. I have tried different rom official updates with no luck. Contacted Samsung support service and they told me to do a factory reset but the problem persists.
On some reboots the note forgets all configuration and starts from scratch asking for goggle and samsung accounts, installing apps, etc...
any guesses on what is going on and how to solve it?
thanks

Btw, do you have K9mail installed?
I read on another forum that it might be it causing the reboots.
I will uninstall mine and see if it improves
No luck... it rebooted again

Sorry for being late, I do not have K9 mail installed.
I've forced to stop samsung push services and samsung all share cast and it hasn't rebooted since then (5hrs ago)

I do think I've disabled the Sam push app and disabled or uninstalled the Allshare stuff, and mine's been stable.
Mine was unstable when I first got it and I was using multiwindow with a lot of apps (via the multwindow manager app in the market). Since I stopped doing that it's been happier.
Do you know how to prevent allshare cast to reinstall itself automatically?

I need help with my Note 2 (GT-N7100).
On a regular basis WIFI (and bluetooth) won't start or hangs. This occurred after I rooted the device and installed cyanogenmod cm-10.1-20130715-NIGHTLY-n7100. I should have known this rom is far from stable, but I was curious to try it. Wish I hadn't!
I removed the root (to unrooted) and reinstalled the latest stock rom from Samsung (via KIES). The problem stays the same.
I searched the net for solutions but no 100% cure so far. I tried some suggestions that I found like removing the battery, Sim and sd-card and pressing the ON-button for a minute and then rebooting. Sometimes this helps most often not...
What is curious about this is that when the device is in this state 2g indicates having several full bars even when the Sim is not installed!
Very confusing. Is this a software or a hardware problem. Can anyone help out?
Thanks from the Netherlands
Showing the bars without a sim is normal, that's how Samsung made the interface. You can try to reset phone to factory settings from the phone. See what happens.

I've noticed to only happens when I am at home on my wifi and I think it has something to do with other Dlna products possibly
i get this error even when i am not using wifi
I know this thread is quite old now and I'm sorry to be digging it up, however I have been unable to find any solution after what feels like an eternity of googling... Hopefully this helps someone else
I just tried taking the memory card out of my phone and haven't had this stupid popup for nearly a full 24 hours now. Could be the fact that I don't have a fantastic quality memory card.
Anywho! Just for some background... I had tried resetting the phone and checking that all dlna settings were off on my router which didn't help as I also had this issue outside of home.

With ROOT Remove:
system\app\AllshareMediaShare.apk
and problem gone
light ans quick solution for my case
Hy,
I got this error message "near by service stopped" each time I tried to play a song from my SDCard through "ALLSHARE" (logo attached) on my DLNA network, with the Music samsung app. If it was a song from the internal memory : no issue came in playing with ALLSHARE !
So I just Dismount->Mount my SdCard once.
How ? go to Setting->More->Memory->at the bottom if this page click on Unmount-> click on Mount and it works for myself.
I guess you have an app which calls "near by service", if it does with connexion with SDCard this could fix your issue. Otherwise, go to folder /system/app/AllShareCastPlayer.apk and click then re-install it !
I guess other app calls this service. I can help only through trouble I faced

Sincerely, thanks to you. I had the problem on Samsung S4 T835. It solved it.
Installing Nearby Service 2.4 beta as system app solved my Smart Things bugs (not connecting after root).
I won't list everything I tried. (wlan dlna disabling doesn't work on Samsung Tab)
Working on Android 9/root+magisk.
After my fault to install
another app for IR remote
(actually TV Side view by Sony) Samsung Watch on
stop working. I clean cache
data, delete data but nothing,
when try to start Watch on
Force to close. What else can do
before factory reset?
- Please help me because I use watchon, it's the best bloatware I ever seen
Did you just update Watchon?
I got the tablet 2 weeks ago, and Watchon was one of the first things I tried (remote control part).
I updated it after a couple hrs, then all it did was crash. I deleted the update, seems to be working fine now.
Hope that helps...
No, I don't update it..
The Sony app uses Wi-Fi dlna to turn channels and not IR the Sony app isn't the problem the problem is watchon update which may have updated automatically in the background
Maybe you have right..
Anyway the problem resolved after factory reset...
Thank you guys
Same problem for me...it ask me for an update or close...in both cases the app crashes...

Yeah I did and I got fed up so did the following.
I force stopped it, cleared all data and cache then uninstalled it. Then I went back and updated it (as you cant uninstall completely) and now its working fine but tbh YouTube app always has issues...I think Samsung and Google need to fix it.

Personally I like tubemate... Not only does it offer all the functions of youtube app but it also allows the downloading of the video's. Arather convenient little feature when you don't have much of a downloading limit...
My note3 and nexus 7 both experienced this. The comments are full of the same complaint. Pretty sure Google messed something up.

The same thing happened to me. YouTube kept force closing and refused to start. So I uninstalled all updates, and reverted back to the older build with the classic YouTube logo. A real PITA for sure, but call me crazy, the image quality is noticeably better on the old build when viewed on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014. Glad it's not just me experiencing this issue.
Hi
I have got a new Redmi note 8T recently and it was a nightmare setting it up. Mostly because some apps did not install easily (over WiFi)
Eventually, just as I was about to give up and return it, I tried with 4G and they installed fine.
I assumed maybe the phone was trying to do too much at once but now the problems are exactly the same with updates. Some go in fast and perfect, others just crawl and get stuck.
I have cleared the playstore app cache, rebooted phone but still not right.
Anyone seen this before or can advise on a solution?
Phone was of Amazon UK, using in the UK
The WiFi itself is good surfing the net and when run tests.
Cheers

Looks like Play Store itself has an issue, I had it with my note 8. They seem to have addressed the issue recently though, so give the latest version a try.
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google-inc/google-play-store/google-play-store-19-1-52-release/
Also try clearing data of Play Services.
Thanks, just updated it.
After my starter post, I decided to update apps over 4G and the problem was still there. Seems the problem is random??
An app that I struggled to update last night, just flew in over WiFi this morning.

Play store is an odd thing to work with, sometimes things work and sometimes they don't.
Give it some time and see if it resolves itself.
Thanks for the help to who replied.
I have reset it again and started again from scratch.
To be honest, I think the issue was random with the play store.
It seems OK now.
