I was wondering if anyone has any idea how I can get voice to text back on my keyboard? I'm running the latest rootbox, I've went into keyboard settings and that didn't work flashed a different gaps with keyboard and still have not got it working. I've done some searching and could only find stuff for different phones.

know issues with the latest builds. Best thing is to go back to a earlier version
http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?t7205sjq5x0rqen
download that. its a link to 1.12.9. it is the last stable build i know of.
is there a way to actually change the default voicemail that gets dialed by holding the number 1 i dont want it calling *86
It's in Settings/Programs/Calls/Settings/Voice Mail Service
i really appreciate how nice everyone here is and eventually i will be able to ask questions. I have seen around the interwebs that 4g theoretically is possible now with miui roms does anyone know how to do this? Also what can I do to fix random reboots?
2.1.13_mod
2.1.13_mod works good, I've been running it for 24 hrs, only one small problem with MMS that was easily fixed. So far, I recommend it.
does the phone force close on incoming calls and get those android guys on the radial menus when you do times and dates
I havent had any FC's on anything.... yet, and I'm not sure what you mean by the "android guys"
on a previous release there were android guys that were making it illegible to be able to set the alarm. ok now i am just trying to comprehend how to get visual voicemail back on and working. i'm a little dyslexic at times so it could take a few minutes
Not seeing any Android guys on setting alarms.
As for Sprint VVM, there are some posts about it in the Development thread.
I apparently don't understand what to do in titanium

Guys, go read my guide, link in my sig and you'll find all your answers.
AS for VVM, don't flash that GAPPS in that thread, It works, but VVM is hit or miss. Find GAPPS 110828 for the Evo and use that one. I need to change the link
So just flash that one and don't deal with titanium cause I don't understand what to do in titanium

Account Verification Error
communication with the voicemail to text server has timed out. we will continue to verify your voicemail to text account status in the background.
voicemail service will not be interupted while we verify this status
Which GAPPS did you flash? The one in my guide has the newest VVM in it, and it's not completely working right
I flashed the one you posted on the miui fresh on Friday thread but it won't download messages on wifi do you have a fix for that

Yeah, that's the same one. The VVM in there is iffy.
Here's the GAPPS with the older VVM.
I never had a problem with this one, and it's the one I'm going back to next time I flash an update
How do I fix mms

Go to the MIUI thread and search for APN
Hi Guys,
Couldn't find another thread on here with this so sorry if there is already one.
I am based in Australia and have just put Jelly Bean on GN. Everything seems to be working pretty well. One issue I am facing though is that the new google voice search does not seem to be working 100%. I can ask for weather and speed of light etc. with no issues. however when I try and set a reminder, text or tell it to call someone I only get web search results.
I have changed Language settings to US English and Search using google which gives me knowledge graph.
The other thing I have noticed is that i seem to have a different voice then those posted in the the google voice search videos. The voice is not american and sounds more driod than person.
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on what might be wrong or if there is anything I can do to solve it?
Thanks
Hey guys, I am running the nightly build of CM10 on 9/4 and I cant seem to get google now to work properly.
I have a clean install of the rom (wiped before) and gapps 20120726.
The cards seem to show information on them (ie sports scores etc.) I havent run it long enough to notice if I get notifcations, although I do see X cards when i pull down the notification drawer for other notifications.
Anyway the BIG problem I have is that none of the voice commands work properly. Everything just comes back as a web search.
I tried "Navigate To" and it brings up a web search.
Anyone else having this issue?

Update: I was playing around with more commands. Texting and calling commands work, weather worked. It just seems everything navigation related just brings up web search results instead of navigation

I live in Orange Country NY, strange thing happened, today a card popped up saying there was traffic, so I tested the navigated commands and they started working out of nowhere? very odd. only thing is im not getting alerts for the cards, i only see them when i pull down to see my mail notification.
Has anyone got the weather to stay in the notification area? It pops up at random and disappears.

First, my setup:
AT&T SGS3 (duh)
Followed the instructions in this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1874982) and put a Telus JB ROM on my phone.
CWM
Custom AT&T modem (required for the Telus ROM).
Custom APN (supposedly yields faster 4G/LTE).
Regular Google account, not GApps.
I've read other threads about people who can't get the voice response to work with Google Now, and I've tried all of the suggestions/fixes in those threads to no avail. All of my settings are set to English (US) and the Text-to-Speech engine is configured correctly.
In order to expedite/prove my settings/configuration, here are all of the relevant settings screens from my phone. If you see anything weird, or anything that might cause Google Now to not speak back, please let me know!

Nobody has any ideas? Am I just stuck not hearing that wonderful Google TTS voice come out of my phone?
Google Now, not accepting voice recognition.
I am having the same issue. I even did a factory reset. no luck. then I tried rooting it. still no luck. it just keeps saying "Recognizing" then times out. I know the voice recognition is working, because I can still use it when dictating a message or text. It just won't work with Google Now.

Possible Solution
I found that if you uninstall the lastest update to Google Search and it works, but you lose some of the new features (open apps, events, etc..)
Another solution is to use Maluuba, i have tried it and really like it. Alot more functions that Google now.
Hope this helps

We are not having the same issue. Your phone will not recognize your voice (Speech-to-text), and my phone will not read back information found on Google Now cards through the phone's speaker (Text-to-speech). Do not confuse the two.
Sorry about that. Got my threads mixed up. Did anyone suggest uninstalling that lastest update to Google Search (I don't know if they did or not)? That is what fixed my issues with it. Might be a bug in that update. See if the previous version will do the text to speech.
Just a thought

Heys guys I recently updated to the newest version of google now.
I am using a Galaxy S3 with the Free sonic rom. Latest Jelly bean release. Everything has been stable including google now. I use the google now feature to make calls, send texts, or set up appointments when I'm on the go. Its really helpful since I don't have to type out anything and simply say it. What made it more useful was that the app closed after I sent a text or made a call. After the update the app stays open and has to be closed manually with the back or home button. I want to know if anyone else has this issue?
I tried resetting the app then I tried to reset my phone and none of those methods work. I eventually deleted data information of the app but that did not correct the issue. Luckily I had a back up of the previous version and google now works the way it did before.
If anyone has an idea on how to fix the problem let me know or tell me a method to contact google so they can fix this small but still annoying problem lol. I know I am nit picking but It been this way for a year and to change it bothers me. :crying:
