[HOW TO] How to Enable Ad-Hoc Networks

I saw this thread in the Desire Z/G2 Section and i thought i would let everyone here know that it works on our phone..

I tried it on the Doubleshot port and it works no problem...

its a great way to share internet from your computer...
my computer is at the other end of my house and it gets great wifi reception though my tiny phone does not. To fix this, i put another wifi adapter in my computer and created an ad-hoc network. Now i just use my phone to connect to that network and now have great wifi reception on my phone

looks like a great way to set up adhoc...though i think i might just stick with my current setup (through windows, lol )

[Q] Image compression

Hi I have this problem while i'm using internet via mobile network. Image get compressed even in some apps like zedge and when i'm using wifi connection everything is ok. So my question is where's the problem ? Thx in advance

problem is no where
its simple when u use mobile network it's bit slow as compared to wifi soo as to make the page load faster it makes the image quality quite low
soo tht it doesn't take much time to load

I am facing a problem since 2 days..my problem is when I am connected to the network I only get upload speed but can not get the download speed..I am on 2g via tata docomo..my upload speed take 26 kb/s but download speed below 225 bytes/s ..is anyone know what is the problem...

It means your internet is working fine but something is getting uploaded from your phone
Check apps like Dropbox and such and turn off their uploads off when you need to download things.
Alternatively install an app (like NetLive) that lets you monitor which app is using your internet (download and upload both) more at that particular time so you can turn that particular app off

Yes ur right..I found that when I was connect the internet..many emails were enter on my device..thats why dis problem occours..I cleared the cash,history,data and now its works fine..

Browser FC

Just recently acquired a Note 8,long time android user and Xda member here.I notice that when using my device in other places using Wifi,I'm getting a browser FC which doesnt matter what type of browser im using ( Boat,Dolphin, Stock)
But the weird thing is when at home it doesnt do it.Im just streaming regularly.Im on firmware 4.2.2
is this normal? is it because 4.2.2 doesnt support flash anymore?

I wouldn't think that is normal, I have not had that issue when using wifi. Mine works on my home wifi or any other wifi I have connected to. Might want to install LogCat and see if you can find a hint there.

[Q] Wifi connection unstable after root

I recently rooted my S4 but after doing so, I keep getting notifications that my wifi connection is unstable. Which is usually just a bother but it doesn't allow me to download anything from the play store.

Try going into Settings and Wi-Fi. Delete the Wi-Fi AP and connect again.

same issues
i recently rooted.. n am facing the same issue.. im currently on stock rom.. my wifi is connected and i can download stuff from play store etc, but the connection isn't stable ( the up n down arrows on the wifi symbol, only the up works at times..) . Hope someone can help!

What modem are you using?
