Hello,
Kinda a lurker, but im always flashing roms Have a quick question if you guys could be so kind as to help me out
So I'm installing this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099881
and the Link for the gApps isn't working for me. Does anyone know where I can find a mirror? Or at least point me in the right direction. I'm under the inpression that the Gapps for one rom can't be used in a different rom? Is this correct or have I made an incorrect assumption.
Thanks in advance

No, for the most part gApps are universal as long as you keep the the correct android version. So if you are in doubt, always go to goo.im to find your gApps versions as it has a handy chart the makes it simple. The exception to this rule is this. Certain roms DO have their own gApps packages like SlimRom and BakedBlackbean as an example. SlimRom removes a bunch of non essentials and BakedBB is an all inverted rom (black system and gApps)
Good luck, and never hesitate to ask for help!! BTW though, the proper place for this would have been in the Wild for the Night Q&A section, since that way dastin would for sure know about the broken link.

Hey wonderful people of XDA,
I picked up an S3 yesterday and rooted it no problem. I can install ICS roms fine, but CWM errors out when trying to flash a JB rom (I have included a pic to show exactly what I mean)
It is a Telus S3, but from what I've experienced before with rooting, AT&T should work as well. However, correct me if I am wrong.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Read that. It talks about error 7, although they said they fixed it. The first time I tried to flash AOKP that happened and I just rewiped everything and tried again and it worked.
Thank you! I'll check it out
I had same problem I just updates to 5.8.4.7 and it worked fine, make sure to fully wipe

Apparently no one replied hehe. I don't have a One X, I have a Sensation XE, so you'd have to test it, but then again I found it in a Nexus 4 thread so I don't think you'll encounter any problems. I was actually trying to set some kind of personalized lockring on my phone and accomplished it with this guide. It's pretty easy to follow.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2202482
I found several lockrings I liked here:
http://faithcry.believable.org/lockrings.html
Bear in mind that to do this it requires root access, a custom rom (as far as I understand), and basic flashing via recovery knowledge.

MOD EDIT: Download link removed with OP's permission.
You can do what you will with this ROM.
You can download it and then upload it to your own server and say you made it. I dont care. Just give appropriate credits please!
No need to PM me and ask permission. Just take it. :good:
I made this by request. If you have a carrier that has no stock rooted ROM and you need one contact me. If I have time between all the other projects I do I will try to get one done for you. No promises.

Yeah, it should but because the Odin file said "RWC" on it I can only confirm Rogers but I do see all the CSC files for all the carriers so it should work on all Canadian Variants, at least the big ones.
Hell, all of these ROMS will work on all of the carriers actually, lol

Its a flashable Rom, so just flash it like any other rom in a custom recover
Anyone still have this? Need to unlock a phone and would rather not do a full odin flash/dump and convert to twrp flashable zip if Scott has already made this. Thanks!

Hey guys, i would like to know how to pick the right kernel for a specific Rom.
My goal is to Root and flash my Galaxy nexus (4.3 Stock) Running on the Videotron.com Carrier (I would suppose its GSM, i have a simcard) with paranoid android, and franco kernel.
My questions are as follows,
1- Are Franco kernel and paranoid android compatible?
2- Will it really help me on Ram and Battery life.
3- Can someone please explain to me how to pick the right firmware, the right kernel, and google apps version.
This is my 3rd android phone, and i always needed help with this, but i would like to learn it myself. (i am not a pc noob, i just never played with phones)
This is my phone right now

By the way, i am willing to donate when it gets done.
1. You have to use the correct version of any kernel that matches your OS version. So if you are on 4.3 use any 4.3 kernel.
2. Custom kernels usually help with battery life but you will have to try many different kernels to see which is best for you.
3. Like I said in answer no. 1 everything should match the OS you are on. If you are on 4.3 then you will need to use a kernel that is for 4.3 and gapps that are for 4.3, if you on 4.2.2 then use 4.2.2 kernel/gapps.
PS- I am not sure what you mean by "donating when it gets done" but feel free to donate to our great devs

Hi,
I have a GNex from videotron. Rooted it 20 minutes after getting it from videotron store
Yes, it's a gsm. The model is maguro.
I was on paranoidandroid 3 weeks ago and it really cool.
You need to download their rom from the dev section. There is a link to download gapps in the same thread.
If you want to keep it simple, no need to flash any kernel. Stock PA kernel is fine.
Happy flashing

I rooted the stock OS with SPH-D710_FL24_CL1173404_REV2_Rooted_Nodata.exe and everything worked fine. Then I installed MobileODINLite-v3.85.apk and did the SXTP_Agat_FL24-v0.4.0.tar flash, and upon reboot, the OS loaded up fine, but after a minute the OS would lock up and the phone would then reboot on it's own, and it just keeps doing that no matter what. I've already tried going back into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik, no change. What should I do?
BTW, I'm a noob to smartphones, the reason I was doing all this is because I can't transfer any files to the internal USBStorage folder either by KiesAir or by physical connection to the pc, I just get a transfer failed error. I was trying to make a recovery so I could load a custom ROM (dirty unicorns) in hopes that this would fix the problem. Also I don't think taking this phone to Boost for a replacement is an option, since I bought this phone used from the previous owner. HELP! =(
Look guys, I'm not someone who is too lazy to use google. A week ago I didn't even know how to use this device. I've tried looking around but I'm gonna need someone to point me in the right direction, so seriously? 33 views and nobody can at least do that to help me?

What I would do is download the GB27 Rooted Odin here-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
And update to JB and maybe that might fix some of your problems. You can get into Download Mode by pulling the battery and replacing it and holding Power+Vol Down.
