[Q] Screen not turning off - Galaxy Note 8.0 (Tablet) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooti

I have my timer set to one minute and it works when battery power is in use. However, when I plug it in it doesn't shut off. I have to turn it off manually and I'm afraid that will damage the screen. Anyone have an answer to this? I've checked all the settings but nothing jumps out.

You sure, you haven't checked the development settings, there is an exactly same setting. I am attaching a screenshot.

Good guess but that's not it. I checked. It could be rebooting while charging too. Just thought of that.

I thought it was a refresh button, but it's actually wifi secure connection button. I don't think I ever saw this in ICS.

I never saw it in ICS, I actually never checked WiFi options so I haven't seen it in ICS, I thought at first time it was refresh button too..

How to turn qslide notification off?

I have a unit from Telstra Australia that has in the notifications qslide shortcuts. Personally I hate them there, they make it look far too cluttered and I will rarely use it.
Is there any way to turn it off? I searched all over for this but can't find it anywhere making me think it's not possible to turn them off?
I have only had the phone for 2 days,
Thanks

Proximity sensor will not stay checked under call settings

My phone's proxmity sensor requires my phone to completely attached my ear for it to be active. Straying even a bit away wakes screen.
So under the call settings, why can't the proximity sensor stay checked? Pics.below.

[Q] WiFi always on

Even tho my WiFi is off as shown in the screenshot, it shows in the battery stats that WiFi is using battery. I know I just reset the stats but it shouldn't be using any battery if its off, right?
