Just ordered a sim free from Amazon

Just ordered a one X from amazon and was just wandering what everyone else views on yours? Is it worth ordering any protection for the case or screen?

Nothing for screen but probably a case.

I have ordered a screen protector and gel case. Despite what people might think, gorilla glass is strong and extremely resistant to breaking...but they still have a digitizer on the outside layer that will scratch. So do yourself a favor and buy a screen protector at the very least!

Just opened the box on mine that was delivered today.
Having bought it on the basis never even seeing it and just the hotuk deals deal and a few reviews to go on it looks like the right phone for me!.
It must be good, its just sent my Legendary HD2 to the scrap bin (well Mrs is gonna get it as soon as I remove WinPhone7 and put a decent GB rom on it!)
Sorry cant give any other info about the phone other than its cool looking and boots quickly!.

Make sure there is nothing protecting the camera. If there is some glass or plastic to protect it it will destroy you photography.
Didn't look into what case you posted but keep that in mind

Hi Jonas.
Yep HD2 = best phone I've ever owned thats for sure. 3 years old nearly now I think and its still as strong as ever.
I have a feeling this one x could be one of those phones that last as long. At least cpu wise it should be good for some time.

Hard clear case

So I remember when i had my first ipod touch years ago i had this clear see through hard case and i loved it. It didnt really add that much bulk and it felt nicely in the hand. Im getting the white gs3 and i really dont want to take anything away from the look and feel and I want at least some protection. I was wondering if there was any kind of clear hard case out for this phone right now?

I cant wait to rock it with my galaxy nexus when it gets shipped!

The reason i went with the iluv translucent case over a regular clear hard case was because after the back of that clear case gets scratched up from setting it down on things, it is going to start looking like crap. all the case nice and clear with beat up scratch marks on the contact points. The translucent will no doubt get scratched also, but IMO will be less obvious.

I received this case today. Just thought I would let you guys know that it has a soft feel to it that provides good grip. I thought it would be just hard slick plastic, so I'm pleased with that aspect. Now I just need AT&T to ship my phone! lol

You should check your phone for any scratches. That case is know for that.

Ya I bought one of the HTC cases knowing it was an issue. Thought I could just be careful with it. Lasted one day. Couldn't stop thinking about it. All I could think about was my beautiful black one being scratched up everytime I moved. I took it back the next day and ordered a poetic atmosphere case.
On the subject of the otterbox, I used a commuter otterbox on my evo lte and was very pleased with it. I hate the bulky defender case but the commuter really doesn't add much to it. Just an fyi and sharing my personal opinion.

How did you "pop out" the built in protector? I thought it was glued?
I'm using a defender, but have ordered the Tuff as Nuts model. I think I might go ahead and get rid of the external protector, since dust gets under there.
I plan to go commando, or nearly that, depending on if a thin TPU case will work with the "nuts" model - they are really stiff when new. I had one a while back for a different phone - great protection.

Its really essy to do. Theres videos on youtube. Literally take your thumb and press the top out and when that pops out peel the rest out. Any glue you have left just peel off

Thanks for the tip. I just removed mine. I don't know what they were thinking with that piece of plastic. It only served to trap lint and dust between the plastic and the screen.

Yea the one for the htc one is very weird bc they had to cut out for the speakers so i popped it out. The one on my s4 is nice though

Yeah, I really liked it back on my HD2, but it does need to be sealed all around to be effective. The odd thing is that they got it right on the top, but not the bottom.

If u r gunna pop the screen protector out why not just go with the commuter. It's less bulky, just sayin.

The belt clip and the defender dose offer a little more protection then the commuter. Plus i like the feel of the defender

Has anyone tried to install a different screen protector on it? I want to remove my built in screen protector for the same reason of getting dust under. I still have the Zagg screen protector I got free from best buy but I don't really like the feel of it and the onion peel of it. I was thinking on getting a spigen screen protector, I wonder if the Glas slim protector from spigen will work with the defender? Let me know if anyone have tried this combination.

So I got the blue HTC one and decided I wanted to get a clear case instead of using my uag case cause of how sweet the color looks...I was looking to get the poetic atmosphere case, but can't seem to find them anywhere...were they discontinued? I know there were issues of them falling apart but the one I had on my old gs4 is still going strong...or can anyone recommend another clear hard type polycarbonate case with decent protection? Thanks guys

Well there was one at that link and I don't think it was used, however it's gone now. lol. Good luck finding something new. I know its not really the same at all, but the seidio active is a great case. I just got one myself. If it's not too bulky for you (and it's really pretty thin, much thinner than any other dual layer case I've ever had), it seems to offer a good bit of protection and the kickstand is nice.
As far as clear ones go, I haven't really heard of any that are nice and clear and stay that way. Unfortunately, most of them seem to be either not actually clear, yellow with age, or both.

I wouldn't recommend them anyways, mine felt apart within less than a month. I then returned it and whilst I was waiting for my refund my phone fell out my pocket and the screen cracked :crying:

I ordered the KaysCase clear case for my blue HTC One from Amazon. It's inexpensive and has good reviews.

Workmanship on The Atmosphere was awful, they pretended to have a quality product like so many other companies. I would paid more for one that actually was well made.

I am sad to see it isn't available any more, I am not surprised though given the amount of issues they had with it. My Atmosphere (white) lasted about a month and then started peeling - it sounds like I had one that lasted longer than most too. It also started getting discolored very quickly and couldn't be cleaned. The other colors probably didn't have that problem.
A couple alternative hybrid hard/soft cases that have good reviews here are the Supcase and the Basal - they both have clear backs but the sides are solid. White, black and some other colors are available.
My Supcase is starting to show a little dirt that I haven't been able to clean off completely, but i have been using it for almost 3 months and it is white, so not too much of a problem for me since I expected some discoloration. I liked the frosted back of the Atmosphere because it didn't show scratches like the clear/smooth back of my Supcase, but at least the Supcase hasn't failed.

Yeah I was gunna try the supcase and see how that worked for me...sounds like my best option atm...now what screen protector lol...

Supcase scratched as hell. Believe me u will end getting the griffin bumper. The phone is so pretty to be hidden in ugly bulky case.

My guess is that they have a stock of them available for returns, when that runs out they will probably offer a refund or a different case. It really was a great looking case, but way too many problems.

I messaged poetic on their site and they say it's discontinued. I'm sure it's workmanship. I had one before and sold the phone and recently purchased the phone again. Even with the small flaws it was a great case and one of the best looking ones for the HTC one.

Considering their warranty and the defect rate of the case (namely the rubber separating from the poly), it's probably makes financial sense to discontinue it. I'm on my second one; great while it lasts, though.

I have one in red! It looks really nice and I love the look of the metal. The only issue I have is the silicone part isn't the most snug fit and sometimes an edge of the phone might come out of the case when I took it out of my pocket. I don't think the whole phone would come out or anything..I'm just picky.

If you're looking for protection, I probably wouldn't recommend it. There really isn't much of a lip over the screen and the top corners seem to slip off a little too easily. It's not like the whole case would accidentally fall off though since the metal part helps to keep it somewhat rigid.
If you're looking for style, then go for it. It's definitely a unique case.

Heads up, if you actually buy it from Mindplar.com it's $45 with shipping and comes with an assumingly cheap battery bank. A little bit cheaper.

This case does indeed look night, I never spend this much on a case but I might have to, maybe I will wait for a few other reviews.

These are pretty sharp looking. I have only been using a sleeve, but might have to consider this. I think Eddie Van Halen would approve of the red one.

Didn't realize that the IR port was covered, no big deal though. I can use a nail to put a hole in there.
Kind of disappointed that the "metal" part is glued on, and it doesn't wrap around the lip like other hybrid cases.
The case itself is very slim. If you have a glass screen protector it wouldn't wrap around it. Looks really great in hand though.

So looking at the pictures previously posted, is the rubber very...rubbery? lol like the ports seem very loosely cut (charging port) and the edges seem like very rounded. I am used to the UAG case and think the cuts and lines are so sharp that this case (while looking pretty rad) has some variances in quality
am i right?
