Hi my Galaxy S3's headphone jack is broken. Whenever I try to plug my headphones in it never clicks and registers it. I personally think there's something in there stuck and blocking it. Is there a way to get it out or a replacement part I can get and replace the headphone slot? Please help

It's probably replaceable if you know what you're doing.
Although, I'd try cleaning it first. You can watch videos and guides to help.

I've been going through headphones really quick lately, but i realized it was actually my phone. No matter what headphones i use only one of the buds work but if i put those headphones into my ipod, both work on every headphone.
At first i thought it was possibly the rom i have, but i converted back to stock because i bricked my phone lol (but i fixed it) and it was the same thing on stock...what could the problem possibly be?
Do you use a case?
maybe the headset doesnt go all the way in, also try cleaning the headset port maybe theres something stuck in there

exactly how would i clean it?
1. put some light and see if there is anything in there if not
2.try twisting the part you plug in your phone
what probably its happening is that there its an accumulation of dust/debris that's blocking the connection. Try holding it with the headphone jack facing the ground and try plugging and unplugging your headphones a bunch of times. That has fixed it for me on a few devices.

use something like a paperclip or a needle and gently clean it and see if something comes out.
Could there be a mono setting?
When going back to stock did you use ODIN?
yes i did use odin...how could i check the mono settings?
Sounds like you got some eddy currents in the johnson rods
Hi guys,
I was wondering if you could help me out some? A few days ago, out of nowhere seemingly, the right channel of my headphone jack on my GNex stopped working. I've checked it, and it's entirely clean, and I've cleaned the contact with rubbing alcohol. I can get the right ear to work again if I push the headphones to the right. I know for sure it's not the headphones I'm using either, as they work on other devices, and I have the same issue if I use other headphones too.
The phone is out of warranty, so I can't send it back.
I was wondering if there is a micro usb work around for this. I know you can get Micro USB to 3.5mm adapters, but I don't know if they work on android phones, or even the Galaxy Nexus specifically.
If anybody could give me a hand, your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
Did you try a different rom/kernel? Some kernels have broken the headphone jack for me in the past so its worth consideration since you don't have a lot of options.
It's stock, and nothing about the device has changed since it was working. I think it may have been the earphones being yanked out of the phone when they got caught.
My previous phone (droid x2) had a failing headphone jack, so I bought this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005OW4AZK/ref=mp_s_a_1?qid=1357612799&sr=8-1&pi=SL75
Even though my new galaxy nexus has a perfectly working headphone jack, I still use the jabra street 2 about 90% of the time. It's great at the gym also. I can just leave my phone in my bag and only have to carry around a device the size of an ipod nano.
Cheers. That'll work if I can't use a microUSB to 3.5mm adapter.
Does anyone know there are any of those that work with the GNex?
I'm so sorry if I posted this in the wrong section, I will remove this ASAP.

I got into a serious problem, I wanted to ask, I got an earphone's small golden pin stuck into the jack (which accidentally got broken), no body can take it out, I tried every possible way to get it taken out. So I asked the technician about it, he said a new Earphone Module will be placed there which has a mic and earphone jack. My phone can't play a sound or I can't call anyone because the phone thinks there is an earphone inserted. Please help me and tell me where I can get a module(online), I live in India and want to know possible solutions.
Any mod is there using which I can play the sound via speakers? Like any app or so?
Thanks in advance.
Disassemble the phone yourself and simply remove the pin!

I'm afraid a friend of mine used a tutorial on youube where you've to use super glue, so you know what happened there
Try a wooden skewer with a dab of super glue on the end. Or anything round just slightly smaller than the opening. Yes or just disassemble the phone.

Hello,
So I have my Zenfone 2 since some months now and since the start, my phone has a problem:
When I plug earphones or headphones, there's a static noise on the left earphone (or on the left side of the headphone).
I contacted Asus, they told me to update my firmware, which I did (I even updated to MM today), but it didn't fix the issue. So they told me to RMA it.
I'm just posting this to know if someone here got the same problem and if he fixed it. I saw a post on a forum which said to deactivate every single sound (notification, etc) and only activate multimedia sounds. For some reason, it worked, and I didn't ear the static noise again but some days later. I tried to do this operation again but it doesn't seem to work.
Thanks for your help,
Best regards,

I thought of that but I don't really know how to do to be honest, I don't wanna break anything. How should I do it? Should I wet the tip of a cotton swab and "polish" the jack input?
Thanks for your reply!

Hello!
I tried to see if there was some dust in it but couldn't find anything. I, however, used the pin but the problem still persists
I noticed that when I was plugging in my earphone, if I plug in "at the middle" of the jack, there will be sound on the left earphone but not on the right. If I plug it in completely (when you hear the "click" sound), then there'll be sound on the right but not on the left earphone, like I first said on the first post. Maybe this can help you.. I'd like to not send it but if I really have to, I will ._.
Thanks for your help.

Yeah, I've tried 3 different headphones but the problem still persists.
You can clean it with a compressed air can, the kind that is used to clean computers. I have one at home to clean my keyboard from tieme to time and have also used it to clean the headphone jack, since it doesn't use any liquid. You can get one at the local computer store or online from Amazon and similar sites

Hello,
Fortunately, I had a compressed air can at home. I tried to clean it with that but the problem is still here
Thanks for your help though, I really appreciate it.
So I "resolved" my problem.
Since I think my jack is broken, I bought this on Amazon. So I did a little setup so I can properly hear music/sounds:
I have a Logitech G430. When I want to listen to music on my phone, I plug my earphones on the G430 adapter, then I plug the USB cable into the USB-microUSB adapter I just bought, and I plug the microUSB cable to my phone. And it works perfectly!
Some may say It's a pretty rough setup, but for me, as long as it works, that's perfect.
Thanks for your help!

I'm sure a pair of cheap BT headphones is cheaper than that setup. Anyway, if you want to keep using your 3.5mm headphones (I would since mine are very nice and were expensive) you can also try a 3.5 to BT adapter, which is also a cheap and nice option. Music through BT is usually of less quality than through the audio jack, but it¡s better than nothing and you don't need so many cables.
Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00UUDZSKE
That one is $19, but you can probably get a cheaper one from a Chinese store such as Dealextreme, GearBest, etc. I have one which I got on eBay years ago and I think it was worth something around €10
I have a Samsung Galaxy A3 2016 and I have had this problem for about a year. When the headphone cable is moved or touched the music stops and google voice starts. I tought it was a problem with my headphones but I've changed like 3-4 pairs of headphones and the problem still occurs. The problem only occurs when the headphones are plugged in. Anyone has a solution for this problem? Thanks in advance!
it looks like the brass inside your audio port is bent.
Reconnect, and test, until it doesn't.
Try cables with 4 pins.

you have to open the phone. u need a (-) screwdriver, but the best way is soldering it. u just need a jack socket ( u can use from any device which have audio jack ) , or u can buy it, its cheap. less than 2 dollar
