What usb ports are you using?do you have a laptop,a desktop?
If you are on desktop,do not use front usb ports, usb hub, not.even an usb extension cable. Go for rear usb. Another data cable would do the trick too. If you are on a laptop, try to use another. Go to a friend or something. Sometimes, windows acts strange. Happened to me some time ago, couldn't make the damn thing install drivers for a xperia arc s,while on pc i did it in 30 seconds..after reinstalling windows, the laptop worked too.
So,bottom line, don't give up,just try other machines. It may a corrupted windows.

Hello, I cannot get my computer to recognize my phone while in download mode, thus I cannot load a KDZ file to restore my soft bricked phone. I have the latest LG device drivers installed and have been able to transfer files before I bricked my phone (I accidentally wiped the OS in TWRP). Device manager states that there is a problem with the drivers. Is there anyway I can restore my phone? Thanks in advance
- Philip

Try a different USB cable and port. Have you got ADB installed? If so you should do a complete update of that too

Thanks for the help. but I finally got it to work by using a Windows 7 computer. I believe that there was something interfering with the drivers on my Windows 8 64 bit version.

Glad to hear you have it working
I am using an LG G3 D851 for T-Mobile
Whenever I connect my phone to the PC, it shows the following in Device Manager
CDC Serial
LGE Android Phone
LGE Android Phone
I downloaded the "LGUnitedMobileDriver_S50MAN311AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.11.3" file and LG PC Suite
I've also restarted my PC several times and turned of driver signing.
I also called LG Tech Support but they weren't any help. They said their website isn't updated and I need to wait for the "official" drivers to appear there.

I got it working in Windows 7. I'm having issues with Windows 8.1.
For Windows 7, download the drivers that I mentioned above and restart your PC. (Make sure your phone is not plugged in while you are installing the driver)
After your PC is fully loaded, plug your phone and that should do it. If it doesn't work then add the path to the driver in the ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES.
Just install LG PC Suite and do the update option under help then connect via USB and if it cannot find it, it'll ask if you want to re-install the USB drivers, do so and it'll work.
I've done the above on 8.1 and had no issues.
people still use a USB cable to connect their phones in 2014?
there are so many wireless solutions that work perfectly, why bother with USB cables?
I too am having the same issue. I have tried installing just the drivers and then installing LG PC suite. I have the same exact 3 devices listed:
CDC Serial
LGE Android Phone
LGE Android Phone
I also am on windows 8.1 update 1 (64 bit) and am very desperate to get this working so I can root my device. Any help would greatly be appreciated!
