Maybe you realy don't have space in system folder.
Try to erase some unnecessary files from system/app and system/media.
And reapply the script.
Maybe now it'll work now

listen i m telling u clearly what to do ...
u will need your stock firmwares 3 system files ..
framework-res.apk
systemui.apk
twframework-res.apk
u will get this three files in two location ...
Systemui.apk in system/app folder
twframework-res.apk & framework-res.apk in system/framework folder
u need to copy this three files from your stock rom .... then keep them in a folder in pc.
then go to google.com ... there search for uot kitchen
uot.dakra or something like this site will come... in that site u will see there is a option called kitchen ... click that.
then click on file upload option ...
on the right u will seee a option called upload system files... click that .. then select those three files on by one in that site fron your pc.
it will autometically be uploaded .
then on that page only ... look at left and u will see on the top there will be a option called " select flashable zip scripting" by default it will be MTD ... click on it and select Galaxy.
then see a little below u will see a option called " Theme chooser preview" select mdpi/idpi option NOT HDPI.
after complition of this ... click on summery ... and if u did everything correctly ... it will be.showed as green colour.
anywaz ... "click on submit to kitchen."
once u clicked on submit u will get a order code with some numbers ... copy that code somewhere ... after 5-10min click on pickups ... ur file will be there with that same order code.
DONT APPLY OTHER ORDER CODES...IF U APPLY OTHERS ORDERS ... AND FLASH IT .. YOUR PHONE MIGHT FALL IN BOOT LOOP .... SO DOWNLOAD ONLY URZ NOT OTHERS.
anywaz now after downloading ur file .. copy that file in your sd cards root folder ... not in any folders ...
then switch off your phone and start your phone in this combination keys ... (home+power+volume up) keep holding those 3 buttons until u see galaxy y young black screen ... release the.buttons ...
u will be in recovery mode ... there select apply update from sd card... then select the cwm zip file and mount that ... u will be in cwm recovery... there select apply update from zip ... choose the file u just downloaded and flash it ...
and then reboot.
if everything goes well ... after rebooot ur notification bar will be available.
hope this helps

Restore your UI to stock(framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk & SystemUI.apk) DDLC2
So what you gonna do is:
1. Download the below attached "ui-restore.zip"
2. Place the "ui-restore.zip" in the root of sdcard.
3. Boot into recovery (switch on pressing "vol up + home + power" buttons).
4. Select update.zip from sdcard.
5. Select "ui-restore.zip"
6. Reboot

Some apps unpack their libs/assets to /data/data/[app-name] during installation or first run so
a) check installed app data which files are used
b) if there are libraries- try moving them to /system/lib and see if app will find it (some use hardcoded paths unfortunately)
c) make a script that during the first boot will copy required files from /system/[custom location] to /data/data/[app name] (better way) or init.d script that will symlink required files from /system/[custom location] to /data/data/[app name]

Please need help regarding meta-inf

i installed "4.0.3 Leak On Screen Buttons" which was in zip having two folders
1 - meta- inf [which has a com folder (with files in it update-binary and updater-script) and with three files CERT.RSA, MANIFEST.MF and CERT.SF]
2 - system (in it framework-res.apk)
so i installed this zip via cwm, but i didn't liked the concept as it wasn't looking good, etc
so as i had already backed up my original framework-res.apk , so using root explorer i moved it back in sys/framework folder
restarted my phone and all got fine....
Though my question is as those files : update-binary and updater-script ---- CERT.RSA, MANIFEST.MF and CERT.SF are not searchable and i guess should not be deleted as they were just updated .. so still would they be impacting my phone or its all kool as i havn't been able to search them or delete them ?!
is it important to find and delete them or its no need for that and its ok ?!
Hope someone understands what i am trying to ask and reply appropriately please i would highly appreciate the same!
Think them like busybox (so you can mount delete etc)
And script file, that includes commands to do.
Every cwm zip files includes them. when you install zip file, these commands executed.

Just to clarify,
That folder contains the Zip signatures and file manifests. as well as the CWM controll scripts. ect. these should never be coppied to the phone on a flash. likewise if you edit them the zip will prob not work without resigning the zip.

They are not flashed. Hence you can't find them. So no need to worry.

Awesome thank you! I understood they just help in probably installing that particular app giving its own correct signatures and file manifests w.e so it gets installed via cwm and nothing more . And as i just backed up my original framework-res.apk to framework folder so its ofcourse all back to normal, though my phone is fine always as it was, I just had this doubt in my mind and m glad it got cleared thanks again!!
Cheers!!
Where did you place the Meta-INF files? I know system files goto system/framework but I cant find where Meta-INF files go. I'm using a root file manager.

[Mod] Disable Led Lights

Hi
If you want to disable led lights in bottom of phone, you need only a Root Explorer , go here:
/sys/class/leds/button-backlight
open this file ( brightness ) in text editor and change 1 to 0 , now save the file, it should turn off your led lights.
but it effect untill your phone is on after restart it goes back to defaults.
May be you can make script to apply at boot.

[Q]Build a Flashable .zip (CWM)

Hi, I've downloaded a good mms.apk and I would like to test it on my phone, but I can't make a flashable package with it to flash in CWM. I've seen many tutorials on how to do it, however none of them worked for me. It keeps saying "Error in .... Status 0" bla bla bla.
I'm a it of a noob on this, so it must be my error.. :silly:
The .APK is in attachment. If anyone can pack it into a flashable CWM I would be very thankful.
Thanks in advance.

That's not the case. I assure you. Besides, I have already tried to do that with another Mms.apk and it didn't work as well and I had to flash it with CWM (luckly, a member of XDA packed the whole thing into a flashable .zip)

Yeah. Same problem. Tried Auto-Sign and everything
the most important is the Meta-Inf folder.
this contains the scripts that the recovery runs, and reads how to install the files, set permissions, symlinking etc..
you can take the whole Meta-inf folder from an existing ROM for gio, and move it to a new map.
folders should look like the following
META-INF > google > android > updaterscript and updatebinary
you need to edit the updater script. remove ALL lines except
mount /system ext4 ....mount
Package_extract(system) /system/
System folder > App folder > your apk you want to have in your rom
now .zip these files, winrar or 7zip doesn't care, as long as it is .zip and not .7zip or .rar you're fine.
flash it, and just to be sure you might want to mount system manually before flashing.
