Can someone please help me? I had never rooted my galaxy note 2 before this. My samsung galaxy Note 2 suddenly stopped working when i tried to unlock my phone from the lockscreen page. I then held on to the power button to reset the phone. But upon startup it just stopped at the Samsung logo. If I take the battery out it goes into a boot loop.
Instead of waiting patiently to send it back to Samsung for a warranty repair, I tried fixing it myself. I tried using a stock root and odin for my GT-N7100 but now it doesn't even startup. It just shows a screen full of grey static.
Now if i send it back to Samsung for a repair, my Odin mode states a binary count of 1, making the warranty void apparently.
My question is: Is there anyway i can reset the binary count? I can't even switch my phone on to access google play store so triangle away is not an option. I am however able to enter download mode.
If anyone has any solutions I'd be most grateful because i seem to have exhausted every option.

I got my phone from Kogan Australia. The back of my phone, behind the battery compartment states
SSN: -N7100GSMH
Made in Korea by Samsung
I tried using this stock rom

WipeCSC
EuroCSC
Root Odex BusyBox EuroCSC

After flashing the stock rom, with Odin v3.07, my phone now displays the Samsung Galaxy note II GT-N7100 Startup logo.
It then shows the android robot with a square cube in the middle of the chest and a loading bar below. But once the loading bar reaches halfway it goes back to the logo and follows the same loop over and over again.
Is there another stock Rom or something else I can try to use? I can still get into Odin download mode.

Hi everyone,
I have a problem with the phone where my notification LED is constantly on (Red). Even if I take out my battery, and re-insert the LED immediately comes on as soon as the battery makes contact.
So, I need to take the phone back to EE as it's under warranty.
But, I'm on the Custom Beanstalk ROM. So, I've tried to Flash the Stock ROM (Downloaded from SamMobile) using ODIN, by following the instructions in the thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2032849
But, now when the phone restarts it seems to be in loop, as all it does is keep bringing up the Samsung logo.
What's gone wrong? Some quick help is great as I have only today to take the phone back to EE.
Also, When I get into the Download Mode, I still see the options at the top left hand corner as Custom, Yes (6 something), Samsung Binary
Please help!!!

UPDATE: After having retried the process, without checking the Auto Reboot option in ODIN, I have now successfully managed to install Stock, and it's rebooted fine.
But, I still one issue when I get into the Download Mode: What I see is:
PRODUCT NAME: GT-N7105
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD: Yes (6 counts)

All looks ok, except the Flash Counter. How do I set that to 'No'
Run triangle away before you unroot then uninstall Supersu. I think that's it. If you have uprooted all ready you will have to root again. I'm pretty sure dr ketan has written a guide

I have searched these forums and everywhere else I can find mentioning this problem online, but nothing has worked yet. I'm hoping someone here may be able to point me in the right direction.
I rooted my AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 a couple weeks ago and was messing around and stupidly tried upgrading to 4.3, and now I can't boot and can't enter recovery mode. NOTE: Download mode works just fine, either by manually holding Volume Down/Home/Power or by using a USB Jig, I just can't enter recovery mode by holding Volume Up/Home/Power
I am able to flash just fine with Odin (I have tried version 3.07 and 3.09), it says Pass every time but the darn phone still won't boot and won't let me into recovery mode so that I may clear the cache and get it to boot.
I have tried flashing back to the factory firmware, to which Odin says Pass but still no go on the boot.
I have also tried setting up an ADB connection in Windows 7 (so that I may get the phone into recovery mode without hardware buttons), but since my computer will only recognize the phone when it's in download mode (since I can't boot the phone so Windows 7 will see it like it normally would) ADB won't work.
I'm at my wits end here, does anyone have any clue how I may fix this problem? What's really frustrating is I just bought a Galaxy Gear Watch and about a week later messed up my phone
Thanks, and I appreciate any help you can give me.
EDIT: Forgot to mention something. When I turn the power to the phone on and don't enter download mode, it stays on the Samsung Galaxy Note II screen, and that's all that happens.
Also, this is exactly what my Download screen info says:

Got the phone to finally boot up
I finally got my phone to at least boot up. Although, I still can't get into recovery mode.
I followed this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2596256 and downloaded this file
It boots, and is currently 4.1.2, however when I try to get to recovery mode, the graphics flicker and the screen goes blank for a couple mins then reboots to the OS.

I had a similar issue moving from Jedi to Jedi Master X.
I had to use an older Odin 2.85 to install a CWM recovery(I prefer TWRP UI)
Once I had the CWM I could install Jedi Master X2 and I had to wait about 30 mins for it to get through boot.
I thought I had a good soft brick but eventually I found a combiination of Odin, recovery and Rom to get it to work.
Good Luck
Recovery screen is now up!
After I was able to boot, I tried flashing again to stock firmware, and this time the recovery menu works just fine! I'm almost back to where I need to be. After resetting to factory defaults, I'm hoping I can do an OTA update to 4.3 so my Galaxy Gear will work again.

Update to 4.3 official will fail if you have a custom recovery...
I suggest using the leaked 4.3 we have...
It will give you all of the gear functions....and allow you to keep root and dump the bloat that you don't want...
A best case situation ....IMHO....g

Glad you were able to figure it out... I just had a similar problem because TWRP froze up on me halfway through flashing a ROM. Had to ODIN CWMR back on and flash a ROM... lesson learned... always keep a ROM on your SD card in case your phone soft bricks - if you can get into download mode at least you will be able to work around it!!
I'll give that a try

Instead of the leaked you can use the official without locking yourself into the 4.3 bootloader

Hello,
I'm semi-new to flashing/rooting/custom roms, etc. I say "semi-new" because I used to know what I was doing - but it's been quite awhile. Here's my situation.
I was doing some Spring cleaning the other day and found my old T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S3 lying around. I upgraded to the S5 awhile back, and forgot about the S3.
So I figured, "I'll sell this on eBay and make some cash!". Reasonable thought, right? I went into Security and started a Factory Reset to wipe all the data off the phone before I sold it.
Oops! Guess what? I had a Custom Recovery on the phone. Completely forgot I had rooted the device and put CWM on it.
No worries, I thought to myself - I'll use ODIN and flash the Stock Rom back on it.
So I did some research on the web and then went to Sammobile and downloaded the 4.3 firmware for SGH-T999 (March 2014). The file is: T999UVUENC2
I connected my phone to Odin, made sure re-partition was NOT checked, and attached the T999UVUENC2 file to PDA and hit Start.
So that went through successfully, according to Odin, HOWEVER, upon reboot, the phone froze on "Samsung" with the blue glow, and the LED slowly pulsated a blue light.
*** At this point I probably should have stopped what I was doing and contacted the forum ***
But I didn't.
After doing some more research, I tried to downgrade to an older version of the Stock Firmware, but I couldn't.
I then installed CWM Recovery (successfully) and tried to install Cyanogenmod 11, with the hope of installing a custom ROM, and then going back to Stock. However, I kept getting ASSERT (ro.bootloader) errors when I tried to flash CM 10.2 and CM 11 (using an SD Card from Recovery).
Now, the phone won't boot up past the initial Samsung Galaxy SIII logo.
When I boot into Download mode, this is what I see
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-T999
Custom Binary Download: Yes (5 counts)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Official
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader AP SWREV: 1
I should mention, Kies does not recognize my phone. So there's that. I was hoping to do the Emergency Firmware Initialization/Upgrade using my Serial Number but the phone won't recognize my phone when I go into Recovery Mode. Do I need to re-install the stock recovery?
So, anyway, yes, I messed up, and I am for many of you, you may be rolling your eyes going, "What did you do?!??!" As someone who works in IT, I know that feeling all too well. But, if anyone in the forum will have mercy on me, I would be much obliged!!
Is my phone savable without having to send it in somewhere and paying $50 to have them un-brick it?
Thank for taking the time to read, and I look forward to your replies.
[SOLVED]
This fixed my issue:

I was told to put this question on this forum and I'm really hoping someone can help. My phone is in perfect condition and it would be a shame to have to throw it out:
I'm out of Ideas, please help me.
Here is my info:
Samsung galaxy s3 sgh-i747m from kodoo Canada. I had installed cyanogenmod through their installer over a year ago. I have been using it with my rogers sim with no problems. Less than 2 weeks ago my screen randomly goes black. I try pulling the battery. The samsung logo appears but then back to black but I can hear everything is working. I Try and boot into recovery and everything is black. I boot into download mode and everything looks fine. I try reinstalling cyanogenmod and then Samsung stock through kies and smart switch and every stock kodoo file I can find .
There is one of two things that happen.
If I install a stock below 4.4.2 I get fail in Odin 3.07 and this on download mode:
Odin Mode
Product Name: SGH-I747M
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Official
Qualcomm secureboot: Enable
Warranty Bit: 1
Bootloader AP SWREV: 2
SW REV Check Fail : Fused 2 Binary 1
If I install a stock rom with 4.4.2 or install from Smart Switch
Everything proceeds perfectly but upon reset I see the samsung logo and then nothing just a black screen with the chime in the background. Still can't boot into recovery. I only see the recovery in blue in the upper left corner but then nothing. I believe after all I've tried I must be on 4.4.2
I would greatly appreciate any help you can give me.
Probably a dumb question on my part but what is "smart switch"?
You can't install any ROM below KK if the phone had stock KK installed on a prior occasion.
I think smart switch is like a newer lighter kies but I could be wrong.
I'm not sure but I don't think I had stock kit kat installed, I think it might have been Jellybean. Is there any way to know for sure? The problem is through odin I would always get fail if I tried any stock rom below 4.4.2.
Odin is the best way to flash the phone with a stock ROM.
I have never used Kies so I can't comment on its effectiveness in restoring a phone.
What error are you getting in Odin when flashing an older ROM than Kit Kat?
What bootloader is on your phone? Have you tried flashing KK via Odin 3.07?
The error I get in Odin is just a red Fail after aboot and on my phone screen it says at the bottom SW REV CHECK FAIL: Fused 2 Binary 1. As for the bootloader, how do I find what my bootloader is?
Odin is failing because you are trying to flash a rom that is trying to downgrade the phone's current bootloader. The fact that the phone has a tripped the warranty bit indicates that it has at least a 4.3 bootloader and cannot be flashed with 4.1.1 or 4.1.2, maybe not even 4.3.
Install the Samsung phone info app from the play store to determine the bootloader. You could also try flashing the stock fob firmware via Odin.
I can't install the samsung info app because I cannot see anything on my screen after the samsung logo. Also I'm not sure what fob is but I tried all of these files with odin 3.07 and none of them brought my screen back to life. http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SGH-I747M/KDO/
Okay, try this:
download tar version of TWRP from here: https://dl.twrp.me/d2att/
download the latest CM11 for the d2lte and save it to an external sd card;
download CM11 gapps and save it to the external sd card with CM11;
place the sd card into the phone;
download Odin version 3.07;
boot the phone into download mode;
launch Odin and connect phone via USB cable;
uncheck everything in Odin except F.reset time;
flash TWRP in Odin;
when you see the word reset in the Odin status window, disconnect the USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, boot into TWRP, flash CM11, flash gapps;
reboot phone;
install Sansung info app.
So I did everything you listed and when I attempt to reboot into recovery, I see the samsung logo appear with a blue "recovery booting" in the top left corner of the screen. They stay on for maybe 1 second and then the screen is black. I'm starting to give up hope
Did you pull the battery after seeing the word "Reset" in the status window? Did you try flashing TWRP again?

I did pull the battery out after seeing "reset" and still nothing. Why would flashing TWRP again help? I'll try it again tomorrow. Thanks for trying to help me out here.
Did you pull the battery, replace the battery, and try to boot into TWRP (not the ROM)?

Yes I pulled and replaced the battery. Booting into twrp is still home, power and volume up at the same time, right? That's what I did but nothing.
So you see nothing on the screen after pressing the buttons? Try flashing cwm.

Yes nothing. After flashing TWRP Twice and removing and replacing battery. I boot into recovery. I see the samsung logo with recovery booting in small and blue in the top left corner and then immediately to complete black. I also tried with CWM and the same result.
Can you boot into recovery after flashing stock kit kat via Odin?
If not, it sounds like something may be wrong with the hardware.
Hi,
I am facing boot loop issue on my N7100 from the time since I updated software.
My Note II motherboard went dead a long time ago so I thought to buy a new motherboard(International Version) from China which I received yesterday. I was able to install the board successfully, phone started working in normal condition, I was really Happy. Very soon, new software update popups started appearing which I decided to install one by one. Initial were some patches, then a big update came for around 800Mb which was for addition of KNOX and other features. The download was completed successfully & and I tried to Install it.
After the installation my phone went into boot loop. The Samsung logo comes and disappears and the cycle goes on.
> I am not able to get phone in recovery mode ( Vol Up+Home+Power).
> Yes, I am able to get phone in download mode (Vol Down+Home+Power).
Following is the status in download mode:
Product Name: GT-N7100
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: Samsung Official
System Status: Custom
Knox Warranty Void: 0
AP SWREV: A2
I did try to re-install ROM using ODIN but failed.
ROM Link : https://www.needrom.com/server/download.php?name=/2017/09/KSA-N7100XXUFNL1-20150518112800.zip
Currently,
a) I don't know the details of motherboard ( S/N, Country Origin, PDA Number, CSC Number ).
b) Developer options were not enabled while phone was in working condition.
c) Tried my best to restore ROM but failed.
I need support to make this phone functional again. I need to know whether the board has gone faulty or can be repaired using software stuff?
Earliest response will be highly appreciated.
Thankyou so much!
Regards
Nikhil
Did you try to flash any non-Samsung software via Odin? I ask because I see the word "custom" in download mode.
What happens when you try to boot into recovery? What happens when you try to flash a stock ROM?
Try flashing a stock recovery from sammobile.com or updato.com.
