Android development is based on sammys rom (touchwiz).
And original android development is about "pure stock" android.. its like android without any theme upon it.. you get also faster "updates" on original but it isnt stable as "android development" (sammys Touchwiz)
I hope i made it clear for you..
So in short..
Android development: stock samsung editing/theming/moding
Original android development: stock google (without touchwiz) editing/theming/moding

TouchWiz 4.0 for MIUI?

This questions is geared more towards my friends in MIUI land. I had asked it once before at miui-dev.com and miuiandroid.com. However, I did not notice any responses and now with the site down I probably would not have received any feedback unless I posted here.
My question is regarding the new TouchWiz 4.0; it is my understanding that the MIUI rom is based off of a modified version of TouchWiz and now with v4.0 coming out I wanted to know what the possibilities were for new functions to be updated, changed, or new features perhaps added?
Thanks for the read and any comments.

Well, yes, but the Nexus S has its own set of problems... At least it is AOSP, not TouchWiz.
MIUI is based on AOSP / CM7, but borrows design concepts from Touchwiz, iOS and Sense a little.

ADT is a development team, they have made Roms such as beast mod and now paradox.
Every ROM is based off of Samsung stock base except for CM7, MIUI.

A true samsung ROM is a stock rom, unchanged except whatever Samsung did to it before leaving the Factory ...
AOSP, is STOCK Barebones Android ..
As far as the other naming, best explanation is that there is NO explanation, the devs that make the custom ROMs name them what ever they want.. Sometimes it is named after the Team that made it, the person that made it, or the general idea behind the ROM ...

[Q] Android Develeopment Vs. Original Android Development?

I noticed there are two separate forums for Android development for the Note II.
Why is that? What does 'Original Android' mean in this context?
I have frequented other device forums but have not come across these two separate forums for any device (that I have used).
From what I've seen that refers to original rooms and mods built for/from the note 2 as opposed to ports from other devices

I believe the android development section is meant for stuff based on the Samsung software, where original android development is meant for the stuff that isn't based on the Samsung software, like cyanogenmod.

The thing is,what ever you create from scratch goes into original android Dev section while whatever you develop my modifying existing source/code goes into android development
For example:cyanogen mod being build from scratch and a kernel build from scratch goes into original android dev section while custom roms depending on Sammy stock roms cm sources or kernels depending already existing custom kernel sources goes into android development

Thanks for the replies guys!
I guess its a new thing XDA is implementing since other devices (that I have owned) do not have this distinction; all the ROMS are released under one forum.

Actually, this is a practice that has been going on for a year or so, it started with the Samsung S2, and spread to other popular devices.

Difference between original android development and android development

Does anyone know the difference between HTC One X Android Development and HTC One X Original Android Development.
Thanks.

Well, some is original stuff, like CyanogenMod and some is CM that's been re-packed with different icons.
One is original, and one isn't, thus two different forums.

[Q] Android Kit Kat 4.4 for HTC Desire?

As Android Kit Kat 4.4 is released, is some one building or plan to build custom ROM for HTC Desire (Bravo)?
Have searched everywhere but no luck as yet.
Look in the Dev Section , there is thread by nikez his 4.3 Android , in there u can see picture that nikez is working on K3 and on KitKat

It's a shame there's no 4.4 for old devices... Google complains there's big fragmentation in Android versions but at the same time it does not even update system for their Nexus One phone which could easily handle A4...

If the companies would make Android 4.0+ for old devices , few people would buy the new ones .. well maybe not few but less .. and if course , it cost them money to develop the Android 4.0+ on these devices .. All they want is money so .. no hope for official updates.

Fragmentation comes from morons who try to completely rewrite the framework and are too lazy or slow to update it with the core android ie touchwiz...sounds like a dirty priests chat room name anyway.

Does anyone have a link to where I could download the rom?
Thanks
You can always find the latest nightly here.
Just have a look at this section. There are several 4.4 ROM's. I'm using the Evervolv Rom with the nightly from 17.12.2013 and it works like a charm. (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766550)
