I am rooted with my s4 from t-mobile & running wicked v2.0 rom. Almost everytime I make a call, I get the com.android.phone process has stopped working preceded by a black screen. Anybody else have this issue? Is there anyway to get the phone system app as a download?
Try wiping phone data then fix permissions and reboot

Are you running a custom or stock rom?
im running the modaco custom rom but the thing is the messages app was running fine untill today
Anyone else having this issue?
I'm on Snacks 1.25. I've tried 20+ other numbers (including other * numbers). They all seem to work. I've cleared the data for 'Dialer' in applications.
Are you running a custom rom? its missing the sprint promotion apk

I had the exact same problem today on baked snack 1.2.5 when I realized I wanted to update my pri but needed the msl from sprint lol.
I took this from a stock 2.2 rom: http://www.multiupload.com/8GZNYS0H8K

Hey Jerry, I'm having this problem as well....I keep getting the force close message for "com.android.phone" and I managed to get my phone into airplane mode thinking that would solve it while I tried reinstalling TelephonyProvider.apk and the other app you had there and I can't get them to upload on Package Installer. Do I need to get my phone to reconnect with the internet and take it out of airpplane mode somehow?? I keep getting that message and I can't hardly do anything with my Evo right now and the phone dialing functions and MMS aren't working
Super frustrated.
Hello, i am a completel noob to this whole rooting thing. i followed a step by step guide and had a buddy help me root my Evo. i believe we used revolution or unrevoked maybe? after everything was rooted and the phone is working fine. sends texts, internet connect and everything. i cannot make a call to save my life. i open up the dial pad. type in a phone number. hit call and then bam. com.phone.android force closes... i enjoy having the rooted phone its much faster and the battery control is great but this isn't worth it. any suggestions. remember i'm pretty new to all this.
*EDIT
heres what i can tell you
Android version:2.3.3
HTC sense version:3.0
software number: kinged-shooter_RLS_2.3
PRI:2.15_003
PRL version:60681
i have tried wiping the dalvik cache doesn't work.
I have a HTC EVO 4G with a problem .
Every time I try to open Android Market I get the following error:
Sorry.
The application Market (process com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
This started a couple of days ago. I can't seem to find which application did it or if it was an application that I installed that did me in.
I would like to run a log cat on my phone, but need to install it on my laptop first.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks d[~_~]b
is it rooted? if so what kernel/rom?
if its unrooted then go to
settings -> applications -> All -> Market -> Clear cache/data
Usually works on some applications.
I'm trying to help him but I can't figure it out either.
He hasn't rooted the phone or anything. It's completely stock.
And that was the first thing I recommended, to clear data in the settings and force stop the app and reopen it. But he keeps having it stop on him.
I know there's something called logcat or something to help record the error log entirely, but I don't know what it is/how it works exactly since I've never needed it. Can anyone suggest anything or help?

Is Titanium backup only for rooted phones? I haven't rooted my EVO yet and a little scared to do it. Are there steps to follow to root it correctly so I don't break it more than it is?

Does it happens when you boot it the first time? Whichever it is, it seems like a bad flash to me. Check your MD5 sum, full wipe if possible and flash it again. Also, it is possible for it to happen if you flash it over outdated or another rom.
still having the same issue this tym while using facebook... already reflashed the rom.. any more suggestions? how can i check sum md5 thanks in advanced
iam also having issues with new simcard inserted and prompts me to reboot my phone..

Ok so right when i got my sprint galaxy nexus (last friday) i rooted and unlocked the bootloader and got right into flashing after running Black Ice rom i was loving it til all a sudden i was getting FC and random reboots, i thought it might of been the rom not liking my phone. So i reflashed and let all my android apps download via market and only restore data of certain ones and restore other apps in titanium. Still issues with random reboots
I then decided to try Gummy and it was working great no force closes or anything then just out of no where my device rebooted for no reason?
I restored apps the same way via play store.
Do you think i should exchange it for another one? Or do u think its an app or what?
Suggestions would be greatly appreciative.

Why are you not asking this question in the rom thread? Because obviously it has to do with something in the rom not interacting with something else nicely. Most likely an app or data in an app which doesn't want to play nice.

because it has happened on 2 roms
Black Ice (Based on Aokp)
Gummy (Aosp)
And it is just random, it is just sitting there and it reboots for no reason.

Pretty sure it's an app. If you have time and patience reload the rom on clean install. Download all the apps fresh from play store do not restore any. On the apps that you feel you must restore data do one at a time, use the phone for a while and see if it does it. Then restore data for the second app you feel that you must restore data on and again run the device for a while all is good move to a third. Eventually you will run into the issue again and just go back one step delete the app that you last installed data for and see if it goes away. Unless you have a logcat of the reboot and you can pinpoint what caused it
