[Q] Xperia S, 4.2.2 and Qualcomm? - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I read somewhere that Qualcomm wouldn't provide libs/drivers for Xperia S after 4.1.2. But how does the 4.2.2-roms work then?

Ported libs and such. I think they were reverse engineered...

how to add hdmi support to cm 9.1 stable

i am using a arc s unlocked bl ,i am going to migrate to cm 9.1 soon and want to know how to add hdmi support
should i just copy the hdmi.apk something like that to system apps
or their's another way
It's not possible. Sony hasn't released hdmi source code so devs couldn't add hdmi to their roms, ence no custom rom not stock based has hdmi.

[HOT] Xperia T Jellybean firmware leaked by DoomLord [porting discussion thread]

Hey guys,
As the title says we have a leaked Jellybean firmware
I'm already starting to port features to our Xperia S, I'll post the things I've ported in themes section
The post is right here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36788563#post36788563
The leaked firmware is meant for developer devices so I cannot guarantee that I can port everything properly!!
Please post the most desired things that you want here, so the other thread can be used for problems with the ported stuff itself
Please also thank Doomlord here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36785957&postcount=1
Hoping for the xs build port soon

The fun begins!
I think I will port the whole Rom to Xperia ion and then S, I will use CM10 as base, but maybe if krappabel did it it would be better as he have much better experience than me, anyway maybe we could team up? Please PM if you are interested
Sent from my LT28i using xda premium
It will be good if you keep all the applications and features, it loses interest when people remove the apps because it takes too much space or because its useless, that will make a completed rom goog!
Might be an obvious question, with an obvious answer, but will this enable devs to get the official Sony camera working on JB ROMs?

Not yet. I bet Cyanogen will be the first 4.3 Rom for ZL. Just wait a few days after the sources are available.

Aosp has already been updated to 4.3 for the zl. Build was released but had some major issues, kernel was not updated tho, this will probably fix these issues. So probably in the next few days. Again, aosp.

AOSP is only 1 updated but has issues. CM can't be compiled right now. Errors for some import file missing. BTW guys we are working on 4.3 PAC ROM. Any new ROMs u like to see, pm me and I will do my best to port it to zl . let's make zl have more development than z

It's not important to have more development, but maybe instead we get BETTER development.
It's a pity that I don't understand anything about github, compiling and so on. I'd like to give something back to this community, but I can't...

New Xperia S update coming in the form of 6.2.B.1.XX

Good news
Back in June, we reported of a new Sony Xperia S (LT26i) firmware update that was rumoured to arrive in early July. Well obviously that did not come to pass, but apparently a new update is still on the agenda for Xperia S/SL owners. Sony pretty much confirmed as much on the official support forums, saying that it will have build version number 6.2.B.1.XX. There’s no ETA for the update, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled.

Sure they will...most of Xperia S users only think that Sony will only fix the problems in their phone (Xperia S) only because they (Sony) did reply and respond inside SXS forum...talk about typical Xperia S user that think of their own importance and forget about the others (Xperia SL,Acro S and ion)...
Sorry if my message is kind of a little rage message...I'm quite mad because some SXS user only think about only their phone's problem will be fixed

We'll see
This update will well be the last update we are gonna be receiving.. Since Qualcomm have stopped work for S3 chipset devices.. We won't be getting official 4.2.2.. Same case like HTC One S.. Sad that Qualcomm too rejecting the good handsets.. Damn these companies..!!!!

You have to think about something. If Xperia S won't get updated, what are the chances to update Acro S, sl or ion? Zero.

Thanks for understanding.
And yes, this is keeping me away from flashing PROPER Custom ROMs, which means that some people (incl. me) will have to stick to 4.1.2 forever...
Envoyé depuis mon ONDA MID en utilisant Tapatalk 4 Beta
I actually prefer 4.1 ROMs on xs coz they're much more stable compared to 4.2. I have had battery issues with 4.2 ROMs on xs. Hope Sony release a faster, more stable and more efficient 4.1 rather than 4.2. Lets not forget xs runs on over 2 year old cpu.
[OT]My Wildfire S runs with CM10.1 nearly better than with Stock 2.3.5. But let's not forget it has a CPU that was already 2-3 years old when it was released (ARMv6 generation). [/OT]
Just saying...

But bro, if they give an update to 4.2.2, custom roms will obviously come good.. Atleast if they release sources, that would help devs to build a stable one soon.. But they don't.. And obviously i would choose custom rom over stock anytime.. And what XSP ROM(ported HTC) are u talkin bout bro??

Best 4.2+ rom

Hey everyone
I was searching fo a stable 4.2+ aosp jb rom for my xperia s but in every thread I find bugs and that its not stable
So please guys share your opinions and help me to find a stable rom with a working camera and to be my daily driver

Tried the most, but all 4.2 aren't bugfree enough for my liking.
I guess 4.2 roms will get better if Sony release 4.2.
