A S4 themed ROM? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey there, anyone know if anyones planning to create a S4 ROM similar to the S3 themed "Galaxy sbean the UNICEF ROM"? The New updates the S3 are getting for 4.2.2 are making me jealous

The closest rom thats stable with touchwiz ux is Embryo 6.11 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142932) to me. Has svoice and all. It is my daily rom. SOmetime I mess with aosp or miui but I seem to always come back to this. I love touchwiz

I was not a twiz fan but Damn the official is kinda nice just need root

Pretty much anything that is Samsung branded (The S in S planner) is based too much on Touchwiz frameworks and can not be imported into an AOSP based ROM such as Cyanogenmod or AOKP.

Dammit lol I like the splanner app

I actually like a lot of the Samsung apps and find myself switching back and forth between some variant of stock (whether ICS or Jelly Bean) and AOKP on a regular basis.
Me too wish cm10 could borrow a few of those samsung apps lol

I love ROMs like AOKP but pure android lacks many of the extras that Samsung packs into the TW ROM. The biggest thing for me is the camera on the AOSP ROMs. I use my camera and lot and the basic camera isn't enough for me. But that's about it. I love the updates and clean feel.

couldn't u use a app from the Google play that can almost mimick the camera app on AOSP such as procapture or Camera Zoom fx. nit trying to be mean just trying to get two sides on this thread?

All the tw features keep me on tw.

I personally love the "pure Google" look and feel. Very simplistic and fast. Not to say the TW ROMs aren't fast as well on this phone, but I like the AOSP feel a little more, even if I do have to occasionally restore my TW ROM to use some of the TW features (PRL updates, etc.)
Aosp just for reliability and its getting allot faster then two variants

AOSP means Android Open Source Project.
In other words AOSP is the default build that is pure and unchanged from what Google puts out.

I like the support and features of aosp based roms but at the same time i have to go to tw which is native to the phone because I don't have to worry about bugs or compatibility issues. Also the camera takes much better pictures on touchwiz vs aokp

I think the only way to get the true google experience is to get a nexus since the proprietary drivers are already there and not much modification is needed.
TW throws the heat man I flashed codename last night played around a bit and went straight back to TW the features on it are just so more refined on this device even without root. This is the second time (1st being the Photon) I'd just prefer not to add custom roms or anything really since everything is already so smooth and already there. Maybe when CM10 goes to official builds I'll go back but by then I'll already have the Note 2 and Android 4.2 or 5.0 whatever will be out and possibly all CM10 work will stop.
Once CM10 is finalized I could see that being my daily driver. Touchwiz is cool but there something beautiful about the simplistic look and feel of AOSP builds

If i flash a CM10 nightly just like normal, do i have to do anything special to go back to a touchwiz rom? Or do i just go back in recovery and restore it or install a new one?

I like AOSP but in this phone it lacks many things. By example full screen camera, and too many options that aren't available. I used CM9 in my Epic 4g because it was ICS. Now the experience of TW with ICS is other. I can wait for JB with TW.

I have been a big CM fan since I first got it on my HTC Sensation. I have to say now that I have the SIII I probably won't put CM on here. This phone is amazing just as it is, mostly. Had to root it obviously but I'm running stock rooted and I can't see myself ever changing that. Threw on derkernels alpha kernels to get some extra cpu speed. Not that it really needs it though. I absolutely love the camera. AOSP really doesnt have anything on this ROM. Which is something I never thought I'd say. On any phone.... Ever.

Sammie did a great job with TW on this bad boy. I used to flash CM for the lock screen features, notification toggles, speed, and battery life improvements. TW has all that now. Actually, its awesome but kinda sucks cuz it takes some of the excitement away from flashing new roms. Still, once JB is stable, I'll probably use AOSP more frequently.

What's your go to touchwiz rom?

I'm wanting a touchwiz rom and wondering what rom people found to be good for them?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
I just switched back from AOSP and have tried BlackJelly and LoserRom which are both pretty awesome.
I'm still looking for that 6 hour on screen time but I have not been able to achieve that since Blazer Rom and KyanROM 1.3. Both of which I can no longer find links for.
I would just make nandroid and flash your heart out.

Which did you prefer of the two above?
I am running black jelly and prior to using it kt kernel I was able to get almost 5 hours of screen time. I just installed kt kernel and need to do few full charges before I do much voltage tweaking.

I personally love the Jedi Invasion ROM. It is probably the smoothest Jelly bean based TouchWiz ROM I have used to date. Removes all AT&T and other bloatware and keeps the Samsung apps

Anyone know which Samsung based JB ROM has the most options for custom toggles? I hate the factory looking pull-down toggles. Big & clunky looking.
Black jelly all the way. Ive sworn off tw roms prior to using black jelly. with ktoonsez latest kernel Its really puts the jelly in black jelly

Whats a good touchwiz slim ROM?

I got a s3 for my gf.. So far I tried out liquid smooth and AOKP. I'm getting slight lag in them and fc in navigation.. I don't have time to keep trying out other roms. I just wanna go to a stable stock touchwiz ROM with a custom kernel then give her the darn phone lol. Please recommend me any thanks.

were you trying the latest ROMs with the 3.4 kernel or the previous 3.0 kernel releases? if you are flashing the most recent ones with the 3.4 kernel, this could be the source of your issues as they are having some stability issues atm.
these threads tend to get shut down quickly. browse over the android development section. check out csrom thebmb
Touchwiz and slim are not usually found in the same sentence..
