Until recently, I had a WP7 which supported a variety of UI languages like German. However, when my Focus died, I got an 8x from Virgin which only supports English, French and Chinese (traditional and simplified). Is there any way for me to download additional UI languages?
Cheers!

The English version sales in Hong Kong this time has multiple language input method. All UI is in English but on the keyboard there is a key for user to switch between Chinese & English input method. The English fonts is standard Tahoma but the Chinese fonts is AR HeiU20 Medium (grey) which is very ugly. I suggest any user change the Chinese Fonts and I found that SC_Song is the best.
Moved Post To General Forum.
Especially with the title i can't directly see if it needs to be in Rom Development?

I think the default Chinese font is fine.
But if you want some Chinese fonts, contace me, I can send you some since I'm using Chinese Vista plus English MUI.
To change the font, just put the font in "\Windows" and make some changes in "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\FontLink\SystemLink"

Hey, I like how HTC applied new chinese input methods for english systems. But they didn't provide any transcribe method. Any good software suggestions? Will CE-Star conflict with the new input methods? Thanks for any help!

Did you mean Chinese hand-writing IME ?
Though I rarely use, but I‘ve got some, like 漢王手寫(HangWang Hand-writing), 三星手寫(SAMSUNG), 蒙恬手写(PenPower), etc..
of course when you search for these IMEs, you'd better Google them with Chinese keywords or it will return less results.
BTW: In fact, I'm now using the Chinese font in official Diamond ROM on my Pro2. It's better than the default Chinese font.

What's the difference in the fonts? Is the Diamond one better? any screen dumps?
Did you guys get a CE-Star install CD with your English version TP2?
hi, Singaporean Chinese here. We have the A4 chinese input method installed by default on the Rhodium. Noticed that I cannot input 'PinYin' using the hardware Qwerty keyboard and have to use the touchscreen kb.
How about HKG? Do you have the same software? If yes, is this a software limitation?

Nope, didn't get the CS-Star CD. Because you are able to use the keyboard to input chinese words.
You have 4 options:
1. ZhuYin
2. PinYin
3. CangJie
4.Stroke
I don't know why they didn't provide a transcribe version, so I can just write on the screen. I am no good with the keyboard.
I want to install CE-Star but don't know if it will conflict with current Chinese inputting methods.

Try installing CE-Star v2.8 R3c.
From what I read previously, Diamond2 was bundled with CE-Star despite having Chinese support, but I don't know anyone with one in person to confirm this.

have you figured it out yet? i'm trying to sell my phone here in BJ but I can only sell to foreigners until I get that language on there.
AT&T Lumia 900 does Chinese language quite nicely. Under region+language settings modify sytem locale, browser & search language to either Traditional or Simplified Chinese. Then add Chinese keyboard input for 注音符號 and Hanyu Pinyin. They are both there. Good luck!
wait.... how can u use 900 in china?
i thought it's lock to at&t

As for 注音符號, can you choose Eten (倚天) keyboard layout? And can you use the Hanyu Pinyin Keyboard to output Traditional Chinese? Any handwriting input?
You can type in Chinese but the display language for the UI is still locked to English or Spanish.

Here are the keyboard options on my Titan (I *think* these are standard Mango, so it should be the same on a Lumia 900):
Chinese Simplified 12 Key
Chinese Simplified Handwriting
Chinese Simplified QWERTY
Chinese Traditional Handwriting
Chinese Traditional BoPoMoFo
I don't see any further settings for the Chinese keyboards (I might be missing something).

bopomofo and handwriting are both included for traditional Chinese. No PinYin :-(
Under Region + Language Settings:
Display Language (no Chinese)
Region Format: Chinese HKG, Macao, PRC, Singapore, and Taiwan
System Locale: Chinese HKG, Macao, PRC, Singapore, and Taiwan
Browser & Search Language: Chinese HKG, Macao, PRC, Singapore, and Taiwan

I recently bought a GT3 for my sister, but she can't use it very well because it's in English.
Is there any custom ROM which has fully functional Hebrew menus and proper right-to-left encoding? I don't like installing the "Google Play solution pack" (anysoft keyboard, Hebrew language pack and so on..) and I wish for it to be as native as possible to the tablet and OS.
Thanks a bunch in advance

Do you realize that HTC is not much different than Huawei right? HTC originated from Taiwan.
HTC Corporation (Chinese: 宏達國際電子股份有限公司; pinyin: Hóngdá Guójì Diànzǐ Gǔfèn Yǒuxiàn Gōngsī), stylised as hтc, is a Taiwanese consumer electronics company headquartered in Xindian District, New Taipei City, Taiwan. Founded in 1997, HTC began as an original design manufacturer and original equipment manufacturer, designing and manufacturing devices such as mobile phones and tablets.
Can someone else please verify that the unlocked version doesn't support Chinese language?
I just used the ( Language Enabler ) For use my HTC 10 in my native language Kurdish and it was worked for some apps that support Kurdish, You can try it i think this app is Fully enables Chinese language if the frameware support Chinese officially! OR you can flash Viper10 Custom Rom all languages was enabled on that great Rom.
here the Google play link : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.wanam&hl=en
Hi, XDA!
I want to buy this device, but you know global version hasn't got NFC hardware enabled. So, I ask here if anyone has Chinese/NFC enabled and if it has global languages apart of Chinese and English (I want to enable Spanish and Russian, in particular).
So, apart of that question, I would like to know if anyone has taken advantage of NFC features and AI support out of Chinese market, or if knows future official/unofficial developments to enable and use NFC far from China.
Thanks a lot!
I'm not sure what languages besides English and Chinese are supported officially, but you can always flash this FW which contains Spanish and Russian - https://geekdoing.com/threads/international-firmware-for-mi-band-4.970/
As far as I know, it is not possible to use NFC outside of China (at least as of now).
If you install the notify and fitness for mi band 4 app from Google Playstore you can select from all languages. My phone language is set to Norwegian, and this was the only way to force the language on the band to English, but the app supports many languages.
