my LGOG has been having weird battery stats and would always go down fast then turn off randomly but when i restarted (after it turned off) the phone it would turn on. The problem is that it wont just turn on with the power button. It had to be the volume button and power button. I just now tried to recalibrate the battery since i am not rotted so i drained the battery then kept turning it on (power+volume) till it drained. Now all i get when i turn it on is the recovery window which the select button (power) wont due anything so i have to just do a restart and itll go right back into it. the phone is even charging right now.... help pleeasseee
EDIT: I left it on all last night on the charger and the recovery screen now it wont turn on at all or even charge......
EDIT: I did a battery pull now itll only go into a black screen with blue text saying recovery. And the power button wont select anything. So i just do a hard restart and itll just bot back into the same menu..help!
EDIT: FIXED IT! I had to use the menu button to select...im so stupid... im deleting this thread if this doesnt help anyone

Hi there!
I have got a really strange problem with my desire. Here is what happened:
I opened the market app whilst using mobile internet. The app froze on the loading screen and the phone was unresponsive.
I pulled the battery and powered on again. All seemed fine.
I opened the market again and the exact same thing happened, only this time I can't turn the phone back on.
I have tried pulling the battery. Tried plugging the phone into a charger without the battery then reinserting the battery. Tried charging the battery until the led went green, still no luck.
I had plenty of battery when this happened.
When the phone is on charge, when you press the power button, the led goes out, but the phone does not turn on.
Does anyone know what this might be? or how I can turn my phone on again?
Thanks all!
Bump, does anybody have any idea?
The only idea I have is a hard factory reset:
Try to start phone with pressed volume down and power button, navigate with volume button to "clear storage" and enter with power button.

Wipe dalvilks cache in recovery

Thanks for the ideas guys. I actually can't power on the device at all. Can't boot into recovery, can't do anything as far as I can tell.
Any other ideas?

What the hell are you doing to ur desire?
Try removing battery for a minute, then re insert it
Then press volume down and without release it, press also power button and wait 5 seconds with both pressed to see if it boots into bootloader and go into recovery too

I removed the charger before putting the battery in. I saw someone recommend it on another forum with a similar problem.
I have tried to get into recovery after leaving the battery out for 12 hours, after charging the phone until the led was green, it seems I've tried everything to get this to work but nothing.
I'm really annoyed as well because I'm 2 weeks out of warranty. It just seems so odd that a software crash could cause all this.
Anybody else got any ideas?
what happens when you press.. volume down and power.. can you see the hboot screen.. is your phone recognised in ur pc?

Absolutely nothing. Totally blank screen, no vibrate nothing. Phone is not recognised by pc. The only things that happen are the following:
When plugged into the charger the orange led comes on, and eventually turns green.
When plugged in, if I press the power button the led turns off, but nothing else happens.
I'm totally at a loss. I called HTC and am sending it in for warranty repair. They said they have extended the warranty to 2 years which is a bit of a turn up for the books, so hopefully they will fix it for free and not charge me for it
Try this:
Boot into hboot
Count (slowly) to 20
Then press the power button once
Connect the usb
Start command prompt
Type "fastboot devices"
For this to work you need to install Android SDK see here http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/wiki/Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK
If you get anything than somebody can help you. I read somewhere about this issue but I can't find it anymore.
Coming from an EVO 4G, when long pressing the power button I had the choice of Power Off and restart. Depending on if quick boot was enabled, the power button would either power off completely or go do the quick boot sleep mode. How is this phone setup because there is no option to reboot. Does this phone do quick boot or is it really that fast to boot? If I turn the phone off does it really turn off or just go into the quick boot sleep mode.
Thanks
I think it actually shuts down. My start-up time is the same when I pull the battery then turn it on or turning it off then on.
It boots up really fast so there is no need for fastboot.
So is there a way to reboot/restart the phone without turning it off/on? LOL this phone is fast!
quick boot in the market.

Hold the power button like you are bringing up the power off menu. Keep holding it without selecting power off. When the screen goes off let go. The phone will reboot. You can hold v down while you do that to get into download mode. Same worth v up for recovery. Not really "quick" but it works.

My LG Optimus G is stuck on the Android System Recovery screen. I can move up and down with the volume bar but I can select anything because you need to use the soft menu button and my screen is cracked there. Is there anyway to get around this? I've tried holding power and volume down to reset it but it just restarts and goes back to the recovery screen.

The power button should be the select. Press up or down on the volume to navigate and press power when you are where you want it to be.
Is the recovery stock or CWM? The power button should work either way for the select. Hope this helps.
also if you are just trying to restart, try holding down only power for about 20-30 seconds, it should do a hard shut down, then when you press power to turn on again it should go to the system.

I'm not sure if it's stock, it says Android Recovery System e3. It says to hit enter to choose an option but hitting the power button wouldn't select anything. I held down the power down and it shut off and isn't turning back on.
my lg optimus g turned off and now it wont come on or hold a charge
Well where do I start, I love this phone and I have not had a single issue with it until yesterday, took my phone off the charger in the am walked out the door , started my car went to make a phone call and my phone was off , tried to turn it on and to no avail, so i took the battery out of the phone (mind you this was quite an experience taking the back cover off) took care of that unhooked the battery let it sit for 5 minutes and it came back on like a charm , well as the day progressed my battery eventually died , so im thinking no biggie right? wrong tried to turn my phone on and nothing at all , just a solid red light which eventually cuts off but thats only when you put it on a charger and does nothing no blinking lights no power nothing. So ive been online following a bunch of different steps and the only thing i could do was put the phone into download mode when connected to a cpu but the cpu doesnt seem to see the device nor does it have power , im trying to fix this myself if possible, im really not trying to pay for a repalcement phone or wait 14 days to get another one so ill try as hard as i can here first and see if i can get some help.. PLEASE!!!! HELP!!!

Did the battery die? What happens when it is plugged in and you hold down the power? (to attempt to turn back on)
Hey dudes, check it out bruhs my phone is kinda acting up.
The story goes one day i was using my phone while it was charging, then it turned off and i thought maybe the battery is low. I left it charging overnight thinking it was the battery only but sadly it wasn't. I tried to boot it and failed. Now every time i try to turn on my phone it will shut off by itself. As soon as i put the battery on my phone it automatically boots without pressing any button and shuts off after a couple of seconds. (I've tried a different battery no luck still) Any help would be
much appreciated thanks a lot!:crying:

I wonder if the hardware has broken somehow? If just the power button broke, this post says to remove the battery, plug phone into computer, then insert battery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...rnative-to-t1731128/post65166854#post65166854
If only the software has broken somehow, maybe you can flash a new ROM from the beginning using one of the nexus toolkit apps which automate everything for you.
