Could it be possible to make a mod, so you can select newsfeeds from your own country and other countries?
Would be a very nice feature so we can all read international news.

Yes off course I knew that, but I want to select topics from US content. And that's not possible. Yet?
Maybe it is not possible to mod this. I don't know.
Oh ok your wanting to mix and match feeds that would be nice

Yeah that would be cool, blinkfeed is very cool but I'd like to read about sports and news in my own country too asides from other places.

Why dont you select global english in the region section? That will give you news from around the world..
Sent from my HTC One using xda app-developers app
The issue with this is the categories are arranged from a 3rd party site and not within your phone(this is why categories aren't shown when you don't have internet). So if we really want to modify it we would have to hack in the site that hosts blinkfeed(which is illegal) and create our own category.
2nd the reason why they do this is because there are some sites where they have different contents per region. Ex. CNN, BBCWorld so it would conflict if they were to merge it.
But perhaps somewhere down the road one of the great folks here will figure out how to mod blinkfeed (on the phone) to go look at a different site that users can then have better control over the content they want to see....
MG
Yes I think that is possible but you would have to host one yourself... I already managed to somehow hack the TV app and saw that the 3rd party site providing the list of channels and TV IR codes and are structured as json codes. Problem with blinkfeed is that I can't locate it's reciever code in any of the APK files I decompiled.

META WIDGET
Meta is a unique app that can turn virtually any online content into dynamic, interactive widgets.
Simply browse to a website, pick a column of text, link or image and enjoy this information right on your home screen!
Why is this cool you ask? Because almost anything can be parsed out of a website - images, blogrolls, RSS feeds or entire windows.
Any widget created through Meta can be customized and automatically updated, or updated on user interaction.
Features
★ Create widgets from almost any website element
★ Parse graphs and images
★ Extract statistics and information from authorized sites
★ Configure widgets (background, alignment, etc.)
★ Automatic updates
★ User defined click actions
★ Lots of other cool stuff
Status
The app is currently quite stable, but we still prefer to call it a beta. So please, do write to us with suggestions or bug reports!

Guys, has anyone had problems authorizing on sites? Someone left a review on the market saying that the keyboard doesnt pop up. Works fine for us though...
Any other problems i should be aware of? Suggestions perhaps?
1.0.2.1
Fixed keyboard issue present on some phones
Fixed image cache optimization (much faster now)
Fixed a rendering issue that occurs if data connection is lost
Fixed a few device-specific issues from user feedback
This could go far into making easy HTML widgets. I build websites, so this would be awesome to link to a page that displays how many people are logged in, or a general chat forum for questions/comments.
My mind is thinking about this. I would get a video up asap because it would answer lots of questions. I'm curious as to how it grabs the content.
UPDATE:
Very awesome! I got confused at first because I accidentally clicked away the help bubbles. Maybe have a dedicated button somewhere with a [?] to provide some help.
I will be buying this for sure as there are tons of website site stuff that I do that I can use this for. I imagine that you'd have to redo this every time a website changes their page layout... which hopefully isn't that often.
It would also be nice to save/share these homemade widgets!
Maybe also the ability to include more then one tablet element, like 2 columns.
I think you should put a video that shows how this widget works.I couldn't create any decent widget and it can be confusing without a video or a tutorial.

There wasn't a video the last time I looked. The widget also doesn't show up in the launcher. Your reply was insulting to me. I can usually figure things out on my own but the instructions were vague and there wasn't a video when I first saw this. Nice work anyway

I found a useful app called Fresco that updates my wallpaper (daily) with cool HD images from NASA, but I am growing tired of the space theme. Whats useful about Fresco is that it doesnt just pull images from your internal memory, but queries their database so you dont store anything on your phone. As far as I can tell there is no other app that does this. Can anyone recommend another app that automatically updates your wallpaper each day in the correct size/resolution for the N4? Ideally if I could pick some categories that would be great as I dont want to wake up to see Justin Bieber (shudder) or any crap like that on my phone!

Sorry guys , but do you need to open threads each time you have a guess or a question ..
The themes and apps section is just full of non sense thread .. that are useless.. just post questions like that in an already opened thread...
................
Considering mine was a request for a themer, and his was asking for a 3rd party app addition to the blink feed, they were not the same request and yes... 2 threads.

The simplest way to look at it:
Is it a request/question? Post in Q&A
Are you providing us with something we can all use? post in themes/development.
It's simple. please keep to the rules.
There's another thread about the blink feed?

The feeds are aggregated on HTC's servers so any mod would need to circumvent or somehow trick Blinkfeed to think that it's coming from HTC's servers.
So... now that we are at a full 1080x1920 on our phone screens... I've found it to be particularly frustrating to find good wallpapers that match this resolution. So I started cropping larger images today in my free time. I also collected a lot of 640x1140 images that look great on our phone. I put them all in a zip file and will link it here.
Feel free to keep the thread ongoing and post your own favorites. Just be sure to keep it limited to High Resolution and quality images. Nothing less than 640x1140. Cheers. :good:

BTW, its silly that it works this way. But you have to single left click on the preview that XDA generates. It will open open the image in a new page and you'll have the full 1080 resolution then.
what do you guys use to resize your pics. every site i usually go to dont support the height of 1920.
Also, i would recommend this site for wallaper downloads http://wallbase.cc/home by far the best i have used.

wallpaperswide.com is where I go. I download the 2560x1920 resolution of the images. Then I open the images in Microsoft Photo Editor. The one that comes with Office 2010. You can easily use that to crop off 1480 pixels, left or right.

These are great! Thanks
OK, what is the trick to getting the wallpaper to also include the menubar area like the stock ones?
http://interfacelift.com/
is where I like to find all sorts of wallpapers, each one downloadable in any popular resolution, including 1080x1920.
But for proper rotation, isn't the standard wallpaper size for this phone 1920x1920?
I only like black wallpaper on my phones, but Im pretty utilitarian and want the most battery life out of a phone.

the link is here play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.SPatrickApps.LucidWeather if that doesnt work let me know and i will provide you with the apk.
I've been playing around with it for a while now, and it is stable. I would like to see a few things though.
First, I would like the ability to add multiple locations, as I travel frequently. Also, I would like to see the ability to sync the weather to my GPS location. It proves helpful for those in the process of travelling.
Lastly, I would like to see a dark theme of the app. It does look very good though. I like the clean look of it, and how everything is in one view. Definitely a good work in progress.
