I am currently deployed to Afganistan and bought a used One X. I believe it is rooted but when I boot into the recovery and try to flash a new ROM, it tells me that it is not authorized. I would like to put a new ROM on it and have the Google Apps. Currently they arent on the phone. Here is what is the infor on it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

go here and try to match your phones stuff and UI http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923016
if most of them doesn't match then i believe its a fake htc and this section is for real htc one x endevoru only(dont know if a fake htc one x section exists here lol)
Looks like a fake; here's a post from miui forums with a similar baseband-
Hello dear all. I'm newbie about installing ROM (Changing or replacing my phone's firmware).
I have a Chinese phone (Called A908) with stock android 4.0.3 on it. It seems the default ROM in it is MIUI. I want to install the last version of MIUI ROM but the problem is that my phone is not in the list of supported phones. So I have to find the ROM which is compatible to my phone. Please help me. My phones feature is:
Android version: 4.0.3
Baseband version: MAUI.11. AMD.W11.50.sp.v13.P2,2012/04/25
Kernel version: 3.0.3 [email protected]#1
Build number: A908_A51ICS_76A0_V1_0_4_20120711
I think it's this one...
You got shafted.

I'd be careful what you do to it. They seem to be unrootable at the moment, plus any factory reset will revert the phone to chinese language. Another guy here had the same phone, it appears(Android version 4.1.5, baseband beginning MAUI)

Howdy!
I am currently pulling my hair out because I tried so many roms and I lost control over my HTC Desire. I am guessing I am currently on Android 2.1. I want to use a ROM that has no HTC Sense and is rooted. But all those roms are coming with so much annoying extra's I just don't want. And some of those roms tells me that some things are working and some not, that olso scares me.
When I click 'About my phone' I see the following information:
Firmware version: 2.1-update1
Smallband version: 32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2
Kernel: 2.6.29-0cb9f166 (htc-kernel - and18-2 #1)
Build number: 1.21.405.2 CL174215 release-keys
I hope somebody can point me in the direction I want because I am fairly new to the android phones,
Thanks!
i had kinda the same problem as you.tryed many different roms and now i'm happy with opendesire + launcher pro instead of adw launcher.
I think LeeDrOiD Mod might be good for you. Froyo with sense and not much extras. Just need to format and make ext partition to your sd card and you are good to go.
Edit: SPEED READ IS BAD... sorry. I thought u was looking for sense rom. .. lol
Edit 2: LeeDrOiD is still good point to start. I dont run sense either but adw, but i still like to use htc calendar etc.

Thanks guys. I decided to use the HTC default rom and rooted. I'll try from here out to tweak and remove some stock applications.
Hi
I recently flashed my DHD with what I believe was the Stock HTC ROM.
However, I got to thinking, how do I know it was the stock ROM? I got it from a link in a forum post (can't find it now) would like to confirm that this is the stock HTC ROM.
I have nothing against custom ROMS, but I specifically want the stock ROM experience for a while.
This is what I have:
Android Version: 2.2.1
Build number: 1.72.405.3 CL296490 release-keys
Software number: 1.72.405.3
Can anyone tell if this is the stock ROM?

If you don't have root and the recovery shows S-ON then you should be on stock ROM.
1st number is the main build 2nd set are for uptates and patches (eg bugfixes and so on) 3rd set are the carried id. 405 is generic htc.

Have just bought Desire HD but found it has been updated to Ice cold sandwich which appears to be buggy and missing items, so want to return to stock, i have two choices Orange or HTC which i have downloaded from HTC support site, presume HTC should be sim free and without orange bloatware.
I am on orange PAYG anyway so either way feasible and not particullarly interested in rooting at this moment in time.
Installed:
Android Version: 4.0.4
Baseband Version: 12.56.60.25U_26.10.04.03_M
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.14-LorDmodUE-9.4.1-ICS-BFS+
[email protected]#258 Thur Apr12 21:19:14 CEST 2012
Build number: htc_ace-userdebug 4.0.4
OPENMASTER eng
lord.20120418.160618 test-leys
IceColdSandwich-7.3.AOKP
CPU: ARMv7 Processor rev 1 (v70)
Memory: 619MB
Little bit confused by HTC downloads because both downloaded Orange UK and HTC EU version appear to have the same name and size i.e.ace30-gb-mr-2.6.35-931a37e.tar.gz Type: MR Kernal: 2.6.35 V2.3 88.5MB.
This will be my first time to rewrite a rom so any advise from the experienced on here would be very much apreciated.
Well, if it has ice cold sandwhich it is already rooted. Search the thread, see what you like and flash it. Instructions on how to do it are in the first page of each rom/thread.

As said not really interested in being rooted, advise sought on whether to return to HTC stock or orange stock in view of waiting for official stock ICS
Not interested in rooting? you realise thats a custom ROM so your phone is already rooted... Find a nice stable GB ROM, stock is generally terrible imo, I'd recommend Cyanogenmod 7 or MIUI

If you want something that is stock and will get the fastest updates possible (skip the waiting line for OTA, likely will get a leaked late beta of the official ICS OTA), I'd recommend Android Revolution HD 6.3.3.
If stock is what you want then flash an ruu. 3.12.405

Hi all,
Is this the newest version possible at the moment?
Android version : 4.0.3
HTC Sense Version: 4.0
Software Number : 1.29.401.11
HTC SDK API level: 4.12
HTC Extension Version: HTC Extesion_403_1_GA_7
Kernel: Briked
Baseband version: 1.1204.105.14
Browser version: Webkit / 534.30
I am asking because I checked out a black HTC One X at the store lately and I think the camera might be a newer version since I compared them side to side and the black one had a slightly cleaner image (When displaying small letters). And also the yellow hue which is quite accented on the white one was missing.
Thanks for any input.
All the best
Edit:
I forgot to mention, I am using the Ir1-1.29.401.11-DUO Deodexed version. Does this one upgrade normally from the server?
Thank you very much.
You're using a custom ROM based on the current official ROM. You won't get OTA updates from HTC
Latest unofficial version is 2.05, mean as you're using a custom ROM you might as well try this, seems smoother than the others and gives me slightly more battery. Bare in mind this is a prerelease firmware
Latest official is 1.29 (which you have)
Thank you for both the replies, in that case I might try using one of the custom roms that you can find.
All the best

I just installed LeeDroid Extreme, which is my favorite custom rom.
How can I use the 2.05 base with Leedroid? Do you guys have a download link for it?
Thanks again

Thanks, i'll give it a try once I find it
You can't, Lee hasn't updated it to use the new base...
Hello everyone I just wanted to ask you guru's for some advice pretty please. I recently got a HTC One X on Vodafone in the UK for me and a SG3 for my wife and I am starting to seriously regret getting the One X because I have been having some issues and my wifes phone has been awesome.
The issues I have been having is the battery life being much worse than my old phone (Desire HD) also the phone getting warm/hot on the back at the top left.
Here are the details of my phone for reference:
HTC One X - White
Tegra 3 Quad Core Version
Vodafone UK Network
Android Version: 4.0.4
Htc Sense Version: 4.1
Software Version: 2.17.401.2
Htc SDK API Level: 4.23
HTC Extension Version: HTCExtension_403_1_GA_20
Kernel Version: 2.6.39.4-g090b42e, [email protected] #1, SMP PREEMPT
Baseband Version: 2.1204.135.20
Build Number: 2.17.401.2 CL89015 release-keys
Browser Version: Webkit/534.30
Has there been some fixes released at all? or is my phone buggered? I have thought about putting a custom rom onto the phone to hopefully fix it, is this the way to go? If it is what is the best ROM to pick up at the moment with the least amount of issues?
As I have never flashed a new ROM before I have a few questions about it:
•Can you backup your old stock ROM before you flash because I assume flashing a ROM voids the warranty
•If I flash a ROM like RENOVATE will it effect my abilty to take pictures/video and use Wi-Fi or vertain apps? As I have heard Radios and other stuff not working right or something.
•I guess I will have to root my phone before any flashing, is my software version rootable?
Sorry for so many questions I just don't want to seriously fluff up my phone, I think myself as a pretty advanced android user but ROMs and flashing is a bit scare because I dont want to end up with a brick for another 2 years.
Thanks in advance

We have 3 One Xs.
1-My Old (Dropped in water) (WWE)
2-My new (India)
3-My wife's (Korean)
Any of them doesnt have a heating problem
And battery life is better than my old phones (Desire s,sensation, gnex)
Have you updated your firmware yet?
I remember the earliest firmware 1.26 had a TERRIBLE overheating problem. Later releases pretty much fixed it.
It's not buggered mate, they are famous for geting hot when being pushed hard.
Battery life is questionable on stock. If you switch to a custom ROM, you'll generally see an improvement in battery life especially if you switch to a ROM like Cyanogenmod 10 which doesn't use sense.
You will lose Sense benefits like the excellent camera features AND if you flash a custom rom you assume warranty responsibility. Even if you flash a recovery rom, HTC will still know you've unlocked it.
All variants of the One X are rootable and there are excellent tutorials available depending on your needs.
I did it, and haven't looked back since. Cyanogenmod 10 in particular is incredible and feels so fast and fluid in comparison with stock builds.

Fixes released? - HTC has released updates, but in general we don't really know what their updates really fix
Buggered? - No
Custom ROM will fix your problems? - In my experience, yes!
Best ROM to fix your issues - Personally I'd suggest OrDroidX or ARHD ROMs (ICS).
Warranty? - Will void your warranty, but personally I think this doesn't matter that much as long as you're not a klutz
Yes your phone is rootable/flashable/whaever.
You'll probably be wondering whether to go with ICS ROMs (eg. OrDroidX) / JB ROMs (eg. CM10)
ICS:
+ better battery life (very significant - can reach 2 days with 5 hrs+ screen on time depending on kernel)
+ more stable
- performance wise it's enough, but not as fast as JB ROMs
JB:
+ extremely powerful performance
- not as stable
- battery life sucks (lasts me 16 hours - about 2 hrs screen on time)
ICS: I recommend OrdroidX
JB: I recommend SlimBean
Custom Kernels:
1. Bricked - amazing battery life, low performance
2. Faux - less battery life, great performance
3. Ncx - somewhere in the middle
All these are based on my experiences

looks like the latest to me man.
Anyway, much has been fixed as you're running the latest version atm. You can backup your current ROM before installing a custom one and flashing a custom ROM should only enhance features, not affect them negatively.
i do get heat issues when i game, thats about it.
Thank you very much for your advice guys I definitely grow some balls and install and try each of those recommended Roms. You guys awesome and thanks for all your replies
I only got "overheating" issues on stock rom (vodafone / The Netherlands), after two updates the Hox was not gettin really warm anymore.
On Renovate rom i never had any issues! It never gets to warm, and battery life is awesome. Normal use gives me more than two days of use!
So don't worrie and enjoy the Hox!
