theres no ETA, but expect it maybe in a month or so. maybe two at most.
I'm with sprint, and i don't think i have EVER updated oficially, since they always delay everything.
If i was in your shoes, i would root, and install stock jelly belly
I'm really really new on this so I have no idea how to do it.. is there any place I could go that has like a guide for it?

With android cdma its best to assume your carrier sucks And you'll never get an update. They're in the business of selling phones not updating them... obtain root control your own device.

No one knows. Either flash a custom ROM, or keep waiting and stop complaining. Sucks, but that's how it is. No one knows when the OTA is coming and until it's officially rolling out you can't know for sure. No use in worrying about it if you don't plan on doing something about it.

All of the ROMs are the best for somebody. You just have to find out which one is best for you. It's a DIY project by nature.

well, yeah, that's what I feel like writing, because it's such a pointless question. you want to know what people use more? check number of pages of every rom thread and you'll know what most people are using. same with kernels. then read those threads, get the device, and enjoy flashing from day 1 you get the device, already knowing before hand what is it that you can expect (approximately, since, most of all, every device is different) from X release of X rom or kernel.
not to mention that must be there like lot's of threads on this theme, and that's it's a rather subjective/personal one.
Hi guys, so I can pretty much do anything, I've been rooting for a long time. So should I root now? If so, which Rom would be best? Thanks in advance

Best way to find out what's the best rom is to try them out people can say one thing about a rom and you can think something else,
Root and rom away, and welcome

This.
Save yourself from any future headaches and head on over to Peoplearmy and GeeK's threads and back up your IMEI with both methods just in case.
I ran with stock rooted for a good week after getting my GS3 just to make sure there weren't any defects (since stock is the most stable).
Pardon my ignorance, I know what imei is, but if things go wrong, how will imei be involved?
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Some people where having issues and there imei was lost, there's a tool to back it up in development section just back it up you shouldn't have issues I haven't seen people inquiring about lost imeis lately,

For some odd reason, people have been reporting that their IMEI information on the phone was wiped while flashing ROMs through recovery. That information isn't supposed to be touched, but nobody has really found out the reason why that data gets wiped during the flashing process for some users.
When this happens, the phone loses its ability to connect to your mobile network (because it has no IMEI information to present to the network), so it's essentially an iPod. Last week I randomly lost my IMEI from restoring a nandroid backup from CWM (luckily I backed up my IMEI information and was able to restore it within minutes), but I've heard people saying that it happens on TWRP as well.
I'm not saying that it will happen to you whenever you flash a new ROM, but when it comes to these things it's always better to be safe than sorry.
Also, welcome to the SGS3 forums . Leaving the childish drama behind in the Amaze forum alone was worth the upgrade for me.

Trial and error always the best course with roms. I would root mine was rooted a few hours after I pulled it out the box.
Very easy to do and with our development section well worth it.

I know we still don't receive 4.22 ota update until now and we also don't know the exact date that Samsung will achieve their promise. After I know about the new feature (Bluetooth enhancement), I really hope we would receive the updates.

I'm stupid also to ask it again.

I think it was a wise decision of Samsung to update note 2 directly to 4.3

No, they won't. Yes they will. No they won't. Yes they won't. No they will.
Get a Daisy and start pulling is petals out. Yes..... No.... Yes.... No..... lol
On another point, recently in a samsung road show I asked a salesman.. is there going to be a 4.2.2 or direct to 4.3? He said note2 only has 4.1.1......
He even showed me their demo sets which is still on 4.1.1... I showed him my rooted stock which shows 4.1.2... His reply shocked me. He told me not to use custom rom because it will void warranty. My goodness. I'm on stock rom for crying out loud. When will samsung give proper training to their sales force?
