Trying to make apps install on the SD card without rooting. Ran "adb shell pm set-Install-Location 2". After that I get the "insufficient memory" error when I try to put an app from Google Apps. Re-ran adb and set location back to "0" and everything was back to normal.
Anybody know how to make the error go away?

Without rooting I don't see anyway to possibly do apps to ad on this device, Samsung has been real screwy on the storage locations, and with Google removing the apps to sd install in stock android is just even more of a hassle. Currently I use script manager to make the phone believe my 64gb card is my internal memory, but that alas requires superuser privileges.

Hi,I've got the following apps installed on my unrooted Froyo phone with official OTA update and would like to know if anyone with the same device+OTA update, has been able to move them onto the sdcard without doing the adb shell thing I.e. setting install location. The apps are: mippin,Advanced Task Killer, facebook, mediafly,Quadrant Standard,Skype on 3,3uk browser launcher and voice search. With only the following installed,I've got about 95.67MB of internal storage left.Is that still a good amount /size to have for the internal storage? Thanks

You can download the App2SD by Sam Lu from the Market
The app will show which apps can be moved to SD card.
The App2SD itself will be installed on your SD card, so no worries about it robbing the phone's RAM.
Hi i have made a stupid mistake and need help.
I have a rooted Note 2 (N7105T) running wanamlite ROM.
I was having storage issues so i installed APP2SD and changed the app installation directory. However it was not working properly (i have since found out that samsung has a /sdcard0 which is a virtual SD card on the internal memory instead of the physical external SD card.
I uninstalled the app without changing it back, and now i cannot updatre or install apps! everything seems to have spare capacity, but i keep getting the insufficient storage error. i cant even reinstall the 50kb APP2SD app to change back the directory.
please help

anyone??
would a restore to system defaults rectify this issue?
Probably an easy fix, but I am at a loss. I flashed Paranoid Android 5.0, re-rooted with chainfire, got su and busybox all up to date and started rebuilding my tablet. When I open gallery it says "no external storage available" then closes, and I can't download anything from the internet because all my apps are trying to use an sd card, however play store downloads apps just fine. But I guess the new PA 5.0 moved my old files to a different folder in internal storage, and I can't point any apps to that directory, and the new emulated SD folder just doesn't work.
edit: still not fixed, and Google hasn't been much help.
the twrp manager app ran an sd card patch it said it needed, could that be the issue?
every app that allows you to manually point to a directory only lets me point at the sd card, strange... we don't even have an sd slot??
I've already done all the simple stuff, clear cache/data factory reset/reflash rom, nothing works
Anyone know what's going on here?
In not on PA to but I have the same problem. I can not download anything to my tablet and my computer is broken so I have been sick with this situation for months. I how there is an easy solution.

I have a Dev Edition Note 4, with a rooted stock ROM and for some reason I can't write to the internal memory. I can install apps all day long, but some apps won't write to storage. Examples:
1)Waze - Waze can't access your SD card. Make sure it isn't mounted
2)Dropbox- Storage full or Unavailable (when I try to download anything)
3)Xposed- when trying to install/update from within the app
"SD card:/storage/emulated/Android/data/de.robv.android.xposed.installer/files
Copying Xposed-Disabler-Recovery.zip...
Could not extract Xposed-Disabler-Recovery/zip"
I've tried flashing back to my original backup, running the KK SD card fix, formatting the SD card, trying a new and formatted SD card, and tried flashing the one ROM that is out for DE Note 4, and not matter what I do I'm getting the same error.
any ideas?
Thanks!

hi guys,
please help me out.. i have no games installed on my device. only required few apps out of which most of them are moved to sd card. all my music/photos is on sd card. yet the internal storage space fills up very quicly and even i cant update my existing apps. an error crops up - not sufficient storage left.
I have to reformat my phone again and again to get storage space reclaimed.
I've been using Clean Master to free up space whenever I update anything.
Side note: looks like Titanium Backup can remove system apps now. Failed in the past, but I just uninstalled Bubbles.
Now if only I knew what was safe to remove and what wasn't.
If an app can be disabled normally, can one assume it's safe to uninstall?

Integrating system app updates doesn't work. Tried to integrate YouTube, and now it's completely gone. Crap

Root the device and uninstall all bloatware from system. also, with some effort, you can install Link2SD and move most apps and data to SD-card after Root.
