Hi,
I Make progress of the game. I make backup. Then uninstall the game. Then Restore app plus data.
But the progress wouldnt restore. The game offers to download missing app data. After the download i am offered to create a new game profile.
So how should I backup this game and data?
Thanks.

there may be a update available in the store you will have to download before restoring the app and data, because it sounds like the way your doing things inthe correct way but just check to see if there is an update in the store available for the plants vs zombies
Hi
Thanks. I tried that. There are no updates.
I tried by restoring app and data and then letting the app download its resources.
And tried to restore just the data after the app dowoaded all the resource files or updates.
Neither method worked.
This is the only app I cant backup and restore progress
Maybe plants vs zombies saves game data in sd card and titanium backup doesn't backup sd card content?

i had this problem with candy crush once, i backed up with TB and flashed a new rom and restored all my apps and candy crush with TB and it started from the begining, i deleted and tried again a couple of times with the same results, what worked was I redownloaded the app and then waited a little bit and then had the download an update and then used TB to get the data and it worked again, maybe this won't work for your situation but its sounds like the same thing, goog luck hope you get it
Problem solved.

PVZ 2 Progress restore
Trying to do this same thing manually.
I have an 8.0 Note and dont want to root right now.
I have the game installed and trying to copy the progress to
my sons Tab2 10.1 also without root.
Ive copied over the folder below:
/storage/emulated/0/android/data/com.ea.game.pvz2_row/files/no_backup
However it does nothing.
Is it possible to copy a few files to restore your game progress to a different device or after a restore?

Ive been doing Android here for a while but I dont know how to clear the app cache.
A little help with that?
Also, is it possible to clear the application and Davlik cache without root?
If you could give me a little guidance on how to would be much appreciated.

You should be able to clear the app cache without root. Not sure about the Davlik cache - I think the app I used to do that does require root.
App Cache - SETTINGS > APPS > PLANTS VS ZOMBIES 2
There's an option to clear the cache in there.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. And yes, this would work. But, I would prefer not to back up every single system setting (and system app) that is backed up when you back up EVERYTHING. I.e, that's like copying the entire phone book so that you can later get John Smith's phone number.
So what I am asking is _which_ system settings do you select for backup to backup your google and facebook accounts and which system settings do you select for backup to backup the settings in the settings menu (ringtone, screen shutoff time, brightness, etc)?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Read the application or check out the TB forums, the application itself tells you what the different color codes mean and by reading the names it should be a simple ting to figure out.
If you need the exact names, let me know, my hourly rates are reasonable.
I have read through the options and filtered them too. If I found the right entries, I wouldn't have made a forum post asking. Does anyone have an answer?
I too would like to know.
I have read all that I can as well and I just don't want to miss anything, but like the OP, I don't want to have to backup EVERYTHING, that is pointless. Please, any help would be appreciated.
I do not get why you guys don't want to just do a full backup, mine takes a few megs and I have 140 applications. These phone come with 8 gig cards, use the memory, it takes me maybe 2 minutes to fully backup. Might as well, then you have everything in case of an issue.
The names of backups are pretty self explainitory. If you want to be sure, I would do a complete backup of all system+apps+data and then do a nandroid backup. Flash a stock rom and then reinstall the backups one at a time to see what they do and if you have the right ones you want. Then restore your nandroid.
A lot of people do not want to blindly back up everything on the phone. Then, what's the point in getting new ROMs? What if they add new versions of some of the software and you flash a new ROM only to revert that software? Nobody running Windows, for example, will do a full copy of their harddrive for the purpose of restoring their apps and contacts upon installing a new version of Windows.
So, I ask politely, PLEASE, if you don't know the answer, please don't state that the question is wrong when it isn't. Please don't state that if I just read the list, I'll find it. I get it. You do not know the answer to the question and finding such answer is not important to you. You feel that backing up the entire phone, the wifi/4g/bt widgets, a copy of sense, and everything else is okay and that's great. That's not what I intend to do even if my card were 64 gigs.
So, what I would like to know, as would another poster, is "Does anybody know what to backup if you wish to backup your google and facebook names as well as all the settings such as screen brightness, screen timeout, sound volumes, alert tone selections, and everything else under the menu using Titanium Backup?"
Did anyone know the answer!?
,,,,To what question? And go revival.
Question is on first post....
You can backup and restore anything you want with tb, but if you switch roms don't restore ANY system apps + data. That can mess things up. Only backup/restore user apps + data if you switch roms. If you're having problems with a rom and you're gonna wipe and start over, then restoring system stuff might be a bad idea because some setting or app might be the cause

Wouldn't have said it any different.
I do a lot of rom flashing and trying out of apps so I have two different backup schedules set up. I do a weekly backup of all application and data; then another schedule will run two times a week to backup all newer apps and data. If I know that I am going to flash another rom I will do a quick backup of all apps and data.
When I format and restore I will run a batch (Menu > Batch > Restore missing apps (or all apps) with data); then I will go through the list and choose the applications & data that I want to reinstall. Sometimes I will download a few programs from the market instead of restoring them, just to make sure that everything is clean (hence restore missing apps instead of all apps).
I never backup or restore any systems apps or data. This will be pulled from whatever Rom I am flashing.
This is what I backup nightly for the 'important' stuff.

The adw launcher and gosms also have an option to backup settings, although I'm use I can use TB to back those up too.
As for the rest of the system settings, I haven't looked to see what specifically needs to be enabled to back that up.
I've found that most of the system data that it flags in green is safe to restore. Usually.
I've never been able to back up my "accounts & sync" that's all I want to backup at the moment ... or is there an app that can do this???
I've done a search but can't find anything pertaining to my question, when I go into TB to restore my backed up apps, there's a line running thru them, what does that mean?

Why would deleting system apps affect whether Titanium Backup can backup user apps & settings?
For the record, I had the same problem as the OP, TB shows the line thru everything. But I believe it's b/c I didn't update busybox..? Why on earth would the program say it backed up the apps fine, only to give an error message (parsing error) after the fact when trying to restore? Seems like a huge flaw to me. It should not report a successful backup when it in fact backed up nothing.
You scared the bejesus out of me about losing photos. Those are intact (as they should be, along with everything else on the SD). How would it even be possible to lose those by simply wiping the phone?
I always copy my files off the sd at least once a week. I have another prog called Folder Clone that back ups all my data onto another hard drive. Same prg also backs up to a DVD once a week. I still have data files going back to my Apple II days. Always have a comprehensive program to keep your data safe. /rant

No backups under cwm 3, not running cwm period. Likely rooted before cwm became part of the basic root package here.
Just running 2.1 stock, rooted, and TB.
Is extracting the backups (TARs) directly on my PC a possible rescue? (or are they corrupted TARs due to an earlier version of busybox?)
They're readable in WinRAR! Looks like I have a saving grace! Wonder why TB doesn't like them, even though it made them?
Oddly enough, when I first made the backups, TB was on default compression (gzip) and I noticed all the gzip files it was creating were 0 bytes. Luckily I changed it to BZIP2. When I saw that the backups now had file sizes, I assumed all was well..
On a separate note, is it still the case that TB doesn't backup SMS? I see conflicting reports on google searches. I already backed them up a different way, but was hoping TB would take care of that too, it didn't.
The one and only thing TB backed up and restored fine were my browser bookmarks (which is yet another pickle, why did that go fine, but game saves were corrupted/parsing error?)
TB also seems to like the "usb debugging" box to be checked under the main phone's settings->applications->development menu. Though when I don't have that checked it usually just hangs on an indefinite loop when restoring rather than giving the error you see.

Practically everything (contacts, apps, sms, email, settings, calls etc.)
that has to do with the Rom. Also if you use app2sd your ext partition will be wiped. You won't lose anything that is on the fat32 partition (such as files, pictures, mp3s etc)

I think these threads answers your question:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=868720
If you use that tool all you have left after wiping is what is on your sdcard so you need to have the ROM zip on you sdcard and install it immediately after wiping with no reboot in between. You can't reboot in between as you will have just wiped all the files needed to be able to boot.
Although a full wipe is going to clear you out, don't forget if you are signed into google and allowing it to back up your data, all your contacts and apps will be restored to your new rom after signing into your google account.
What about Mobile Network Settings?

Full Wipe deletes user data, system and cache.
1. So the Mobile Network Settings are untouched and we don't have to enter them after a new rom?
2. Only after a new radio?

You will certainly lose all of your data and settings, as for any apps on the ext partition of your sd card(if you have) i dont know. Anyway, to take it from the start im assuming that you are rooted since you run a custom rom. Read the whole post before doing anything
1.download rom manager from the market and take a nandroid backup of your system with your current sd and sim
2.download titanium backup and go to batch backup all apps and system data
3.flash the new rom
4.download titanium backup and go to batch restore missing apps
With the above procedure you transfer your apps from the old rom to the new rom, while you keep a backup of your whole system in case something goes wrong so you can reverse it. Now for the data
1. Download mybackup pro and take a data backup in your sd
2.download again in the new rom and restore everything
If you follow the above you should have in your new rom all your apps, all your data and all your settings

So if Titanium Backup can save the APN and APN login passwords etc. and I can back that up and flash a new rom, how do I restore those APN settings? Which app do I use? ie. I can't download it from the Market again without the APN settings and password to gain Network access? Can we backup the titanium app too before flashing a new rom?
(I flashed Windows Mobile loads of times but the first time cost me 1000 dollars (equivalent in Japan) because I got the Access Point details wrong and was charged the wrong data plan. This is the only reason I'm being extra careful some 2 years later.. cos I'm skint.)

Try quickpic from google play. That might fix your issue.
What do you mean by full wipe? Describe what you did. I am personally on Ariel also and love it. No issues and its the best ROM I have tried so far.
Wipe data/factory reset 3 times, wipe cache 3 x, wipe dalvik, battery stats fix permissions then reset recovery. Then install ARIEL. Quickpic didn't seem to help.

Do you normally do that kind of wiping? I have been using wipe once for everything is fine and never had an issue. I think that was overkill. I would try wiping everything once, and flashing the current ROM over. Then if that doesn't work, try a different ROM.
This is how I wipe my phone:
Wipe factory reset
wipe cache
wipe dalvik cache
flash ROM
reboot
I do this for every ROM and don't have issues.
I've tried both AOKP, liquidsmooth and ARIEL a couple of times, still getting the same issue. They can't locate my pictures and now plugging into my computer, the files aren't showing up in the DCIM folder. Still says the same amount of storage as before when it still worked.

Lol well yeh...you do actually have to configure it to tell it what to move...
It's best to move only applications and dalvik cache to sd-ext though
Application data is best left your /data partition, generally more stable, not to mention should be faster

Strange, I've never used s2e but the principle is the same as any other really.
Normally the procedure is;
- flash rom
- setup a2sd
- restore apps
That way the apps etc get restored to where you want them first time, rather than moving them later.
Try first going to recovery, wiping dalvik cache then rebooting, hopefully it will restore to the sd-ext like you want.
If that doesn't work then assume your already have a titanium backup of all your apps?
- nandroid backup
- full wipe and flash rom again
- setup s2e, move apps and dalvik, reboot
- restore apps
- check with diskusage to confirm everything is moved to where you want it

i did this: went into the filemanager and installed s2e and needed root permissions so i did the same and installed it, then went in and ticked in s2e mount as ext4 and restarted and some apps are recovered, so now i have to tick application and dalvik like you said, i wanted to use a2sd script but i dont know where to get it from, im using cyanogenmod-7.2.0.1-bravo.
edit: i ticked em still the same only some apps are recovered.
Now try part 2...

Not sure what you have tried, did you try to full wipe and flash ROM again?....(it's easier if you type in full sentences and use punctuation sometimes )
- You don't have to use Titanium Backup, just assumed you want to transfer your apps between ROMs? Do you not want to save your apps and data / preferences when switching? There are various apps which will do this, but Titanium is one of the most tried and trusted methods.
- Is the google verification a Play Store error? Normally a clear of the play store app data / cache resets it.
- You can use any compatible A2SD script. It's just better to set up A2SD before you install / restore any apps. Alternatives are int2ext, mount2sd, or darktremor A2SD. But they do roughly the same thing. In simple terms, only use one method at a time, you want to move apps and dalvik to sd-ext. I'm pretty sure S2E would have worked fine if you did as instructed...never mind.
Yh I flashed again and then had google error verification, I thought i'd go back to mildwild 5 cos its better for me, the titanium backup I didn't have a backup of apps so that's why... thanks anyway
