"Welcome to the Dark Side"
Click the quote above to access the site
Team Black Out is made up of some of the best of the best in the industry when it comes to making Blacked Out Apps and Transparent Apps. We decided to team up and release the largest list of Blacked Out Apps available and add to it as often as possible. Our goal is to offer an ongoing list of apps that are updated as soon as possible after the stock app updates by letting just 1 person update it rather than 3-10 of us doing our own thing and ultimately ending up with the same end result.. an Inverted app. So, by doing this, we will be able to branch out and get the list to over 100 apps in time! Many of us have been doing this for over 3 years and some have just began their journey to the Dark Side but we are a team and will work together like a team. The veterans will help train the new-comers how to start from scratch and fully Black Out an app by editing xml lines, drawable images and smali classes files. On the site, we have guides available and will add more of them in time. We announce the Team over a month ago and now the day is here!
T-BOTs are the Team Black Out Testers. When we update an app or start a new one from scratch, we can put anywhere from 20 minutes to 10 hours into 1 app for all of you and then testing that app can take 10-60 minutes and we don't use every app we Black Out so we're bound to miss some hidden things. Well, this is where our Loyal T-BOTs come into play. Once we update an app they get busy looking for issues for us. This gives us more time to be able to update more apps, start new apps or just have some non-android fun. So make sure you thank the T-BOTs when you get blown away from how amazing these apps are!
Obviously this style is the most popular. We don't theme our apps with images but rather Invert the Colors so you'll have Dark backgrounds and Light texts. This is very popular and has become something that many avid Android users have come to thoroughly enjoy so we will do our best to give you more of what you love!
Transparent apps have become more popular the last year or so and some members of the Team have been offering them for a while now. Our transparent series of apps are called Clear Apps. Being able to see your wallpaper while you're using your favorite apps is just cool! We'll be offering our own wallpapers soon for you to use!
Ok kids... click on "Welcome to the Dark Side" at the top and it will take you to our official Team Black Out website! All downloads are hosted there only to keep track of everything. If you've used any of our apps in the past in your Aroma installers or in your ROM, you can still use them. Link back to our SITE wherever you post our content tho. Do not post something in a different forum using our work and then PM us to let us know and hope it's ok with us.... It isn't. Ask first and we'll work with you but ask for forgiveness and we have a problem.

do you mind making the banners smaller? They make the page wider
Nice and clean. Just what I was looking for on my N7 for my Facebook app. The blacked out Pandora is kick ass too. Good job.
Thank you. Ive been using rujelus22's and B-boys inverts. And now that they are together with DJDarknight in Team Blackout, I couldnt be more excited. These guys are the Real Deal, great Devs and great apps. Inverts and clears for everyone
Previews would be nice, instead of humongous banners.

I love feedback when it's useful, but why not just click the link and see the previews. Not really wanting to clutter the OP with screenshots when our site has them already. Plus we have over 30 apps. If it's not complains about banners we would get complaints about to many screenshots..etc. But like I said I like feedback so thank you for your opinion.

Okay, not to sound like an ass, and I do appreciate the work that has gone into these, but.. instead of having massive banners, you could have had previews. With banners as big as those, you can't really say you didn't want to clutter the OP.

Lmfao, I understand. I actually didn't make the OP but I respect my teammates decision on having them on the site only. I do agree the banners are huge and have passed on that feedback to him so he might make them smaller but not sure he wants to add screenshots of the apps on the OP. One reason is if apps change their ui then we would have to change the screenshots on every single post we have made instead of just the site. So there is a reason we didn't post all of them here. Don't worry about sounding like an ass because all feedback is welcome here...good and bad. I usually don't go to the main site on my browser, . I use the app and the banners are very tiny inside it. So I really didn't notice until I went to the browser and looked. That's why I passed on that feedback so thank you!

I just want to thank you myself because for some reason the stock music app simply WOULD NOT work on My Note 2, it'd FC literally the whole time it was installed on my phone. Even in the background. For some reason your blacked out version works perfectly! So thanks a bunch! But just one thing! Didn't know if you knew the colors in the drop down menu to add to a play list are unreadable, or if it's just me.

Hi everybody!
I've spent a day on the last long weekend and wrote a simple voice translator with speech-to-text and text-to-speech capabilities. Truly, I did it because I was confused a little of this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1352006 . OP treats his app too "top-secret and classified", and put a lot of limitations and restrictions for XDA members. But that kind of app is very simple; there is no know-how or some proprietary technologies involved: all apps (of this kind) are using undocumented Google's speech-to-text and text-to-speech APIs (but very well documented on internet forums! )
Also, AFAIK, most of 'em are using FlacBox project's code but without reference to project page and author's copyright!
I'd like to announce a completely free application (but ad-based); everybody are welcome to beta-test (marketplace version will be released soon after XDA slight beta test).
App has no limitations or restrictions but if you can't hear translation or recognition is not working for your language, it's not a my fault but just not supported by Google's APIs.

P.S. BTW, do you know: Google's translator already knows an "albansky" (you know what I mean - for other's it's a Russian specific internet slang) language Try to pronounce: "V Babrujsk, givotnoe" or "Afftar ggot"
anyway
cool and nice work!!!!

"No" and "yes" I wrote this app yesterday, just after finishing reading your topic. I was a little confused: you are drastically promoted your app on the one hand but refused of beta testers on the other hand... XDA isn't free beta-testers place or advertising area; it's a community of enthusiasts and homebrew developers. So I decide to give a chance to "unlucky" XDA members to get the same app for free, without limitations and restrictions. BTW, I can afford to spend 10 hours of my time for community needs (but my wife disagrees with me! )

Hmm. About 80 people (at least) are downloaded xap from the first post but only few rated app and left response on the marketplace (as I've asked)
Hey, XDA members, nobody is asking for your money or complicated movements, just provide your appreciation! It takes not longer than one minute...
P.S. I wasn't 100% sure what the "common" xda member is a lazy greedy "freeloader" even when I've collected money for Cotulla's test handset and only 12 people donated... But now I'm going to change my mind

Hey man, don't stress too much about it. I know what you feel, we had 100+ "private beta testers" and only 10 responded with feedback the others only asked for the app and never heard of since. Thats the way it works, and some maybe want to do some more experiments before they rate and give feedback. I have not downloaded it yet, just saw this thread and it looked interesting.
Ill check the app out later this week (as Im doing quite some stuff in multiple languages it might be usefull to me) and will rate it. Maybe you have to tune up the logos and the UI a bit (metro style bubbles??) so you will not get critized for that. As I also found out WP7 owners tend to not update their reviews so you will get bashed for inital bugs/ui glitches pretty much permanently.
But thanks for the hard work of the development. I am truely looking forward to what you can come up with in the future with this app.
Keep it up and don't worry too much about it, the people that are interested will show their support, the ones that don't well they don't.
Marvin, thanks for good words! Of course, my criticisms don't apply to you, as well as dozens of busy developers here on xda (also, we have a lot of students and they are very busy now). You know, I helped to lot of people here, and people are helped me too. Actually it's an only thing keeps me on XDA
I'm not an angry or stressed (it's a forum's smiles ); just want to blame people who treats xda like a "warez" or "free stuff" place. But it isn't (at least on my opinion).
Of course I'll continue my work on the funprojects ('cause it's my hobby and not about money) and will continue to help the good people here.
Not all of us are like that! I left both of you feedback/bug reports, sorry to hear that many don't though. I can imagine as a dev that would be frustrating..

Thanks, man, I know and appreciate that! Fortunately there are lot of a real industry enthusiasts and responsible people here (but of course not all have a time to read all topics).
But take a look to the first post, 161 people are already downloaded app v 1.1 from XDA (app has much-much more downloads now from the marketplace but I don't care about mp strangers). I believe there are no strangers or casual visitors here on XDA so most of 'em are XDA members and reading these forums regularly, and I've asked for very tiny thing (and never asked for 5 stars or good review only - no, I need a people's real opinion) but only few people (let's say, 6 at day one, most of 'em my XDA friends) are rated and left reviews... It's kinda disappointing...
Haha yes, also scoobysnacks it was not directed at you.
But back on topic. It seems to crash for me when I copied a translated text (dutch to spanish) than exit the app trough taskswitcher to go to whatsapp. When i come back with the taskswitcher it will show resume... (is it not mango ready?) and than crashes. Dont know if its consistent, but it just happened. Which is unfortunate since I like to use it in combination with whatsapp eg.
Also, could you implement onfocus --> textbox2.SelectAll so i can easily copy all text when clicking the textbox with the translation. As I will use that a lot.
But it works pretty good, the google api does a good job at recognising. And you built it well. The hold to speak is indeed very smart and works intuitive.
TopAndroidWallpapers.com is a newly started community driven project with the purpose of creating a huge database of live wallpapers and giving users the ability to sort through the live wallpapers by Rating and Popularity. The wallpapers are presented in an easy to browse format and can easily be downloaded from your phone. Selection is very limited at the moment. It has just been a couple of days since I started this up. Any recommendations for the website (or Live Wallpaper suggestions) are more than welcome.
We have tons of categories and tags to choose from. Basically something for everyone. And the rating and popularity filters are icing on top of the cake!
Feedback on what kind of live wallpapers you like (and how you find our website) will be much appreciated.
Don't forget to vote for your favorite free live wallpapers
Over 100 views and no reply? Cmon guys! I will be accepting negative criticism only today. It is only positive criticism from tomorrow onward!
Downloaded like 10 live wallpapers. Great website also. The only thing I hate is the icons for the wallpapers are in the drawer but I have nova prime so I can hide them!

Any Live wallpapers you guys see that are full of Ads/Spam, please comment on that individual Live wallpaper on the website so it can be taken down or a Big Notice be put up on the LWP page mentionining Spammy Apps. Sorry for the trouble of spam from installing this wallpaper. It's an issue with some developers but we personally do not endorse such Live wallpapers. Thanks for identifying the the wallpaper with the spam issue, we will update the wallpaper post with the same information so people are aware of the spam issue before installing the wallpaper.
We would also appreciate if the community could get involved in identifying similar wallpapers in benefit of the entire Android-user community. We may even be opening up positions for Contributors and Moderators to assist us in making the TopAndroidWallpapers.com a better resource for users looking for Live wallpapers.
Feel free to contact us through PM, if you've got ideas or are just looking to help out.

Wow, that one is great! Simple yet elegant. Another example of a Live wallpaper that deserves more exposure...
Edit: Added 'Day of Ubuntu' wallpaper to the website and lots more! Try this one out, it's got tons of features: http://topandroidwallpapers.com/tdc-2-0-520/
Added:
'Sort by:' Rating (Top-Rated wallpapers) and Popularity (Most viewed wallpapers) as per popular request.
You can run this filter on the Homepage to work it on all Live wallpapers, whereas you can use it in individual categories to browse top-rated wallpapers in that particular category.
Need to rework titles, because it can be confusing if filter is applied or not. You can take a look at the URL for confirmation.
Saw this in a Nexus 7 review, it's very customizable too. The paid version seems even better.

What is it:
This is a quick extension I coded up to turn XDA threads into an image gallery. The extension button will enable when you're on a topic that it is able to translate, clicking it will open a new tab that dynamically fetches images as your scroll down. Keep in mind this is an Alpha, did it in one day, so it may ( read "most likely" ) will have problems. Its great on those "Post your screenshots" ( wallpapers, cases, whatever ) type threads.
Permissions:
- "Access your data on forum.xda-developers.com" - This is to fetch images from the forum, I haven't messed around with removing it since I was just using this personally but decided to release to you. Promise I don't care, nor gather, anything about what you do on XDA.
- "Access your tabs and browsing activity" - This is to detect when you switch between tabs and enable/disable the extension button. Also I do have this hooked into Google Analytics now, but I only gather extension page views to see what's being used. In the future I'll be hooking it into events as I add features( if it's popular enough ) to decide where to put my efforts. No personal information is collected.
- "Storage": Allow extension to save Extension Settings.
How to Install:
New: Added to official Chrome store now just add via https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/xda-gallery-beta/bohmnlfnbncjhpjagccfgblhcdgicdnp
Reporting Bugs:
If you'd like to report bugs then please give me the thread you had an issue with, and if you can narrow it down to an image then link to the post containing that image ( if it's working, there is a link under each image to bring you to the post. ).
What's Next:
Currently the extension will start showing images from the forum page you launched it from. Going to implement a way to jump to the beginning or specific page.
Implement scrolling upwards to load the previous pages images, this is needed for the next item.
Lots more ideas for "community" type features But gotta get the basics hammered down first!
Change Log:
3/15/2013
Added an "Advanced" options section allowing you to override the number of images and fetch all of them. ( If it doesn't work correctly on some thread blame mon5trum, he requested it )
Some bug fixes
3/9/2013
Now when viewing images in the popup you can click to view prev and next, or just use the arrow keys to navigate!
New Extension Settings page, styled to blend in and match chromes style for settings.
Setting to adjust the minimum number of images to fetch( Careful here as it wont render any images until it finds at least this number, could take awhile if you try and use on a thread that doesn't have many images ).
Setting to turn on debug mode ( Will show logging in the Chrome console. NOTE: I'd leave this disabled unless you need to troubleshoot an issue as it could slow down logic a bit )
3/7/2013
Lots of fixes and enhancements in this one.
First off, thanks to Pooley! He is an awesome guy, and very talented. Thanks to him with have a great, professional looking icon!
Aspect ratio is now respected
Added image zoom capability
Now identify images with broken links and shows in small window( as to not break scrolling functionality for now )
Images should also layout nicely in a column format
Fixed quite a few bugs( hopefully without creating new ones )
Hmmm... seems like there should be more, but I'm too lazy to look at my commit log, so just check it out
3/2/2013
NEW: Now on the official Chrome Web Store
Starting to work on the look a bit, its still pretty ugly lol... What can I say, graphic design isn't my thing, but it'll get better
1/27/2013
Pretty much a complete rewrite
Fixed loading duplicate issues
Better error handling( Will tell you when it's reached the end of the thread )
Asynchronous loading should now be working correctly
Do you find this useful? Click the Thanks button to send me some encouragement... Or if you're feeling really generous buy me a redbull to keep me going at the keyboard ( If not, no worries, it's hardly expected )

Does it by any chance only supposed to work with windows chrome version?
I use Ubuntu 11.10 with latest chrome version...

Didn't use anything that would exclude Linux, I'll have to look into that.
Been awhile since I updated this, but did a complete rewrite of the extension, should now be working much better. Replaced attachment with new extension and added changelog in the OP.

It doesn't work if the page contains a gif. But gifs are shown in the gallery though.
Example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38762538#post38762538. And i think sometimes it also happens if a gif is present in a user's signature.
--edit--
It's working now. Seems to be haphazard.
Chrome store just told me Android not supported...

Ok here is the icon. first attempt. zip contains psd + png (512, 38, 19).
Will try another way as I don't see clearly the pic on 19x19 res. But it's a first try, tell me more about color, about shapes what do you eventually like to see in the icon.
FYI no active/inactive as the inactive will be the greyscaled version of the active one
OK second try
I like this one (minimalist and easely recognizable even in 19x19) what do you think ?
Also attach a zip with psd + png (512, 38, 19) ON/OFF mode
Hey Guys, m the developer of Ultra Explorer - Multi featured File Explorer for Android. It is one of a kind File Explorer that integrates more than 10 useful applications which if buyed separately cost 10-15 $. But u get all these features in Ultra Explorer for just 2.15 $ ( super nominal cost used to support developement ). I will be publishing the App to the market Soon and thus i want a high definition Launcher Icon for Ultra Explorer.
The current Launcher Icon is 148X148 px

Pooley, i really like your designs but i can't really judge unless i test them out on my device and see if the icons justify the aesthetics of the app. That's the reason i asked the designers to provide a 512 px png of the Icon. Don't worry...due credit will be given to all the designers who have helped me. Thanks

But don't you think that the paper-clip will be too small if you scale it to 48x48 px on a real device?

Well xhdpi it'll be 96x96 but more than likely, yeah. But its an easy fix . I always forget the whole scaling deal. I can always redo the icon at 96x96 and other dimensions to keep it crisp.

Review time :
@HaSKdX really liking the new concept with icon embedded in a folder. Thumbs Up !
@ÜBER™ man u seem like a regular with these things..the icon u gave was really smooth but make sure when we rescale the icon to 96px the details are distinctly visible. Anyways like the concept.
@pooley:) dude u sure r a professional..really appreciate the time u put into this and came with 3 new concepts. I would love to see what more concepts u develop. For a suggestion..May be a mixture of 1st and 3rd design would be super cool.
PS: @pooley:) 1st and 2nd concepts are in jpg format. Icons for transparency purposes must be in png format
At last, Lets wait and see whose design comes across as the best. Really appreciate all the entries. Keep coming up with new designs and concepts. 2 more days to go. Thanks

A Message to all the Designers :
Most prominent colors in the icon should be blue and dark gray as the app is designed in those aesthetics. White should be minimal as we are going for a darker theme. Hope i made myself clear..! Thanks

So it appears that the 360 didn't ship with this design that won the design face off. I know they said it might not actually appear on the device, but I was kinda excited for it. I assume it's because Android Wear doesn't yet have the capability to have all those widgets/icons within the watch face.

LOL...this was obvious. Only devs here are smart enough to dig deeper into the coding to create software that shows notifications like this. When have you ever seen anyone pull notifications like this off for any previous watches from a manufacturer? NONE. It's always been devs that create apps to allow such functions. If Motorola even tried to create something like this by themselves, they wouldn't have released it for another 2-4 months if that.
What about even simpler things like showing the date or weather? The watch faces included are pretty, but why dumb down such a smart device?
Who the [email protected]#$ wants to look for a card to see the weather forecast or say ok google each time to get it. Luckily developers can create such watch faces, but why can't an expensive device come with basic features like that?

I made an app "Facer" it's a piad app, allows you to create custom wathfaces using a ton of different things (similar to zooper for widgets). Anyways, Buy it, PM me with an order # and I'll refund you so you can play around with it.

Answer is yes. I've been using Photoshop to design some things. Note to Dev: One minor fix that would be nice is the fact that the face for the 360 isn't centered in the app. If you center it in the app then it won't look right on the watch.

Yeah, in-app it renders at 320x290 (moto 360 res), but it doesn't account for the "black bar" section on the moto 360. I could change it to where it shows the black bar as well if you think that would be better.

How customizable is the facer app? Is it basically just putting a background, and setting font on text with a pre determined location? Or can I move stuff around, needles, add dials, change text position, size, etc? The google play description makes it sound like it's basic, background and text font.
