So, recently I have tried to record my screen on my phone. I have tried well over my share of apps, but all the apps add a green (and I mean really green, pink, or any color) tint over the video. Either that or it flickers like crazy. I don't mean my phone flickers, it works just fine before, while, and after recording. Only in the video playback it flickers or adds the tint, or even both.
So my question: Do you all use any screen recording apps that work well?

Did you try Screencast Video Recorder (Demo version)? Instructions say to set recording mode to High on the S3. I've tried the demo version before without any tints.
If they're all doing it though, maybe it's your device? :-/

My wife has a Samsung Infuse and I recently discovered that it has a pause button on the screen while recording video. She can record and then pause, and then continue the same recording instead of having to make multiple recordings. It's very cool. How come my Galaxy S2 can't do this(or can it)? Is there a camera apk out there that has this feature and will work with the Epic Touch?
I guess I'm the only one who thinks this is a cool feature huh.... Anyone???
That feature to be intergrated would take abit of work. Not alot.abit. usually there's no point in a feature like that since its the same as throwing them together ina timeline. (Video editing) not even camcorders have this feature far as I remember.

I had to play with the settings to get it to work. It has to be on 800x480 resolution, started at 1920x1080 - think. I can't remember if anything else was wrong. You are right kenlperry, the pause function would be a great addition to a mod. LGcamera or LGcamcorder is nice also, thanks to agrenwa! Paid version cost $1.95 which is actually worth the function if you want to make some cool movies. Ban-chewa-bow-bow!

You know, the original Epic 4G could do that as well. I had one and asked the dev, Myn, if he would or could do it for me at the time as well - make it work for an EVO...? Nobody seemed interested at all... I love that feature! I even have an LG Lotus clamshell that shoots and pauses and shoots... What's up with that..? LOL!
Thanks guys. Yep, I'm using the lgcamera app now too. Like someone else said, the higher resolution settings don't work though, but 800x480 will do when necessary. I like this feature alot, particularly when I'm recording my kids. It would be an awesome feature to have built into the Epic Touch. I wonder why the Infuse has it and the original Epic had it but the Epic Touch does not? Hmmmmm!
As a recent Droid Incredible user, I've been using Screencast to record my screen on the DInc. Unfortunately this does not work on the Nexus.. it does record the screen but throws a black layer over the video, from my understanding is something to do with the hardware "screen wise".
Is there a workaround to fix this, a different app that will record or am I just doomed until Screencast Devs fix this?

Screencast would be on my gnex in a minute if it was compatible. As you said, everything works perfectly except that the video itself is blank (black).
I noticed that the screenshots by Screencast have the same problem. Maybe if the Screencast dev(s) pinpointed why their screenshots are blank, which would seem to be trivial since there are so many working screenshot apps for the gnex, the same fix would make their videos work, too?
At any rate I hope they get it working. That's an app I'd pay for.
So I've been to a few concerts where I tried to record some video with my S3, and the video quality is amazing, but the audio is absolutely TERRIBLE. I've tested recording on the ICS version of TouchWiz that first came with the phone, and also just recently with Task's AOKP running 4.2.2.
A link to my video if you want to see what its like:

My friend was recording with his SII right beside me his audio is actually bearable. Distorted a bit, sure, but not even close to what mine is like... At least in his I can easily make out the song :\
Anyone know if there is a fix to this issue yet?
Bump. Went to Sensation White and all I got was bass-inundated video like link above. Would really like a solution to this. Perhaps a third party video app like lgcamera would work?
P.s what concert was that in your video?
Same here. Just went to the Marilyn Manson concert and I can't hear a single thing! Must be an S3 thing lol

Hi All,
I'm using Note 2 N7100. Currently Using OMEGA ROM.
I've been searching for a screen recorder in Android. Got a couple of them, but no luck.
I've tried:
1) Screen Cast: Recording dies when I try to record a game.
2) Z Screen Recorder: Video is of very low quality. When I see the preview of the game in video, it's very hard to recognize anything.
3) ASC Recorder: Never records. Very buggy.
Even worked out with various ROM's to see if it would record.
Above results of recorders remains same when I try with OMEGA, Allience ROM.
Screen Cast records games in liquid smooth, and other original roms, but I don't understand THE RECORDING COLOR CHANGES. Ex: actual color of a character is yellow, but when I see in video it will be green. SUCKS!!!
At last, I got a dump of SAMSUNG Note2 ROM, which has Screen Recorder APK.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=31240992#post31240992
I don't understand where I went wrong. I placed APK and odex file in system/apps/ but pops notification "Application Not Installed." I didn't understand the dependencies of application.
Can anyone suggest me a way to record screen in any of way, either from the dump or any good application. Did anyone had a good luck over it..?
With screen cast, did you set the video quality to high?
I also noticed on aosp roms there appears to be no red tones. Instead you get blue tones. Probably something to do with the kernel, perhaps?

Yes. I've set it to high quality. Tweaked around with screen cast. But there were no changes. Ya, I'm sorry, even I got blue tones. Any idea of this..? Is there any way to achieve it through the dump..!!!
I have tried using ADV to record my sweet Slither.io skills, but it just forces closes whenever you try to start the recording. Anyone gotten screen recording to work on their note 7?

Go into your apps and click on the "play games" icon (the green one) and you can record from there. Click on a game you have installed and a little red cicrle pops-up.

Thanks for the reply! I actually ended up finding one that worked before I read this. I got AZ Screen Recorder. It works really well and even has its own built in editor. It is also really customizable from Resolution to frame rate and it will record from your camera at the same time just like twitch! I don't know why the others I downloaded didn't work. Nice to know Play Games has its own recorder built in though. Thanks again.
