[Q] S3 high capacity sd card error Help - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I have an S3 (sgh i747) i used an adapter module (found here: http://dx.com/p/sd-to-microsd-transf...r-module-27001 )
to plug in a 128gb sandisc sdxc card into my phone. it worked perfectly. i then attempted to plug in a 256gb card, it did not even register, the phone acted as though the sd slot was empty
my phone is rooted and i attempted re formats to numerous other file systems ntfs fat32 ext4 and obviously exfat, there was no change, the phone didn't detect it,
can anyone tell me why? and if a custom firmware might help can anyone tell me which one i should go with to fix this?
the card works fine with my pc

[Q] SD Card Issues

Just recently purchased a Desire Z, and it came with an 8gb Samsung SD card. however, CM7 did not recognize it (unsupported or blank), and would not format it, and neither would CWM. So my solution was to partition it, (4gb and 2gb), and it does work now. However, is there any way to format it back to 8gb and make it recognizable to the phone?
(Quick note, have no sd card reader for my computer, so something through adb would be preferable )
Been solved.

[Q] Having trouble with my Sandisk 32gb sdcard

Like the title says, When I bought my microSDcard and inserted it in my N7105, it worked fine for a couple of weeks. But all of a sudden it appears" Blank sd card or has unsupported file system". Yes, I thought it was my phone's problem, I tried to format the card in my N7105, but it did not work( tried to unmount and mount but also failed). So i put the card in a card reader and plugged into computer trying to format it in my computer. But as u can see, Failed. I've tried different applications to see if i can solve it, like Guiformat, SDformatter(v3.1, v4.0), Formatting it through Disk Management and H2testw(v1.4), All of them are failed.
Please, i just want my 32gb sdcard come back

is there no one have the same problem like mine
some of us are having a problem with sandisk ultra sd cards 32gb/64 gb...they are working good for 2-3months and suddenly you get these problems...dont know if it is due to custom kernel or due to manufacturing problems on san disk ....
some say on touchwiz roms, you need exfat formatting and on aokp and CM roms you need fat32 because the custom kernels dont recognise exfat formats
all i can say is try to format the card inside phone or use stock kernel and see
Fill no more than 16 gb on your SanDisk ultra sdhc 32gb card. ..solved the issue for me. ..( I also formatted the sd card in phone)
The phone also formats the sd in fat32 format
On omega v12

Micro SD cards not detected

I'm having some strange issues with my S3 and micro SD cards. I noticed any attempt to access one of the folders will force crash any app that tries.
Then I did a nandroid backup from TWRP recovery and when I rebooted the phone, it claimed that the card was empty or damaged.
So I connected the card to my computer to backup everything that was there. Windows did say it needed to be scanned for errors but it didn't find any errors. It was formatted as exFat so I could put larger than 4 GB files on it.
When I put it back in my S3 it wasn't detected at all. No error messages, it was just as if I hadn't put any card in. Under Storage settings, under mount external SD card it just says to insert a card.
What I've found since then is in order to get the S3 to recognize that there is a card I need to do a full format (either FAT32 or exFAT) on my computer. If I do a quick format, it still won't be recognized. I need to do a full format.
But then, if I unmount and connect to my computer, then eject from my computer and put it back in my S3 it isn't detected again and I have to do a full format again.
I thought maybe the card had become defective, but I'm seeing the exact same behaviour now with a different card. The first one I was using was a class 10 32 GB lexar card. The second one is a class 10 16 GB Adata card. Both do the same thing. After a full format on my computer, they are detected on the phone but after unmounting, mounting on my computer, not doing anything except ejecting it, they stop being detected by the S3.
I've even tried re-formatting the card in the phone but that doesn't change anything.
Anyone know what's going on here? Is the phone defective? I don't want to send the phone in for warranty repair except as a last resort as I suspect that would mean several weeks without a phone.
Thanks!

Micro SD Card constantly needs formatting

My external card which I was hoping to use for Google music storage refuses to stay mounted . I also have to reformat several times per week to even use it. I've got two Samsung 64Gb cards and they both do the same thing. They work fine in my laptop!

I had the same problem with my phone. I found the problem was that they were exFAT and not FAT32. Changing this is hard because most software doesn't reformat anything bigger than 32 GB. If you're rooted, "AParted ( Sd card Partition )" by sylkat was able to reformat the SD card and fix the problem. It changed mine to FAT32 and my LG G3 no longer needed to format it.
There are special programs for Windows Vista/7/8/8.1 that can do this as well, but I didn't do this so I cannot help you. I will tell you that'll you'll need to hook up your SD to your computer via reader, card slot, or any other way you're able to connect it. If you're not rooted do a quick google search to format it via computer.
Hope this helps!

D855AR not recognize micro sd 128GB

Hi guys,
I have problems with my new Samsung 128GB EVO Micro SDXC. The phone recognize it and let me save photos, music and any data. But any time i reboot the phone it not recognize the micro sd and i have to format it so the phone recognize it again.
I try to format the card in NTFS file system and ExFAT in 32kb and 64 kb, also make a hard reset of the phone. Nothing works, still have the same problem. I put the sd into another phone and works perfect.
It can be that this model of micro SD is not compatible whith mi phone? The exact model of my phone is D855AR.
Any idea?
Thanks in advice :good:
