I downloaded a rom and its in es file folder when boot into recovery I cant find the rom nowhere.I had no problems with finding roms using 4 ext touch anyone know where the rom is at in clockmod recovery this is driving me crazy lol
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Try putting it on the root of your SD card and make sure you are looking in extSdCard.
I cant find a wipe for dalvic like on 4 ext touch.so basically when installing a new rom just wipe everything except sd card then flash rom then wipe partition and then reboot.

Your not extracting the zips are u? Do not extract the zip file. Then put the zip file on your sd card and boot into recovery. Then apply zip from ext card. But first go into advance options on cwm and wipe dalvic cache, wipe etc. Etc

In recovery select 'install zip from SD card'. At the next screen select 'choose zip from external SD card' if that's where you put it. If you select 'choose zip from SD card' it will look in the internal storage.
Hey it on my device storage how do I get to it through recovery or hoe do I move the rom from device storage to my sd card.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
If is on your phone, select install zip from SD card then select choose zip from SD card and then go to wherever you saved it. If you want to move it to your external SD card, plug phone to your computer and move it to /extsdcard. Then in recovery select install zip from SD card and then select install zip from external SD card. What is the link to what you downloaded that you can't find?
Hey I just found the rom and I downloadrd it then I wipe dalvic and cache partition and then I rebooted my phone and my stock factory rom is still on my phone what did I do wrong.

You want select the option that doesn't flash the stock recovery if you want to keep flashing ROMs/kernels etc.

Where in here is wiping cache, dalvik, and system and factory reset? Are er to assume those are assumed? No. They must be mentioned. Don't set people up for failure.

Flashed a rom and saw folders from my previous installation there. H ow do I wipe internal sd, NOT extsd.also what is the best rom for rogers with working LTE
Boot in recovery, go into mount&storage or something like it and format sdcard.
The better ROM for rogers lte is task & ktoonsez if you want JB. If you prefer ICS try kyan or one of teem ressurection roms

Be careful. Some recovery support external. And formatting sdcard will wipe external. Look for format emmc

Both CWM & TWRP support ext-sdcard but you have the option to format sdcard or ext-sdcard. I do it all the time and never formated my ext-sdcard

Just take the external out. Can't reformat it if it ain't there

That's true. Just depends on the version recovery he has. With my recovery(5.8.4.5) i have to format emmc. If i choose to format my sdcard then it wipes my external. I just wanted to prevent a possible mistake.

Wipe both caches after flash?
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda premium
When I have issues I save everything from internal SD card to my PC then load the ROM files to ext SD. Then I go to recovery > wipe. Then do Factory reset, system and data. That way its all clean. Don't wipe external.

I currently have cm10 on 4.1.2 but I can't seem to update to 4.2 or 4.3 I tried the update in the settings and after my phone wipes everything it just goes back to the home page of TWRP. If I try to flash it manually I can't see the zip file when I'm in recovery. Am I doing something wrong?

I've tried moving it around internal and external into different folders. Its weird it really doesn't want me to flash it. But why cant I even do it through too manager? It does the same thing where it goes to the main TWRP screen
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Easiest way.
1. Make a backup of your Internal memory.
2. Update to latest recovery.
3. Copy cm and gapps into the root of your external sd.
4. Wipe data, system, internal(yes that's why the backup).
5. Search for cm and gapps. Flash it.
6. Copy all to internal again.
7. Enjoy.

Also if you have TWRP forget about ROM Manager app. It only works(when that pos does) with CWM.

I figured it out guys. My phone was a hard brick before so my boot loader is old. I had to reflash the MD4 bootloads and flashed from there

You're looking for old files from when you were on the lg software..
In root explorer they are in
Data/media/
On my s3 I would use TB and back up all my apps and data and when I flash a new ROM I would just do a batch reinstall of all my ****. Now I can't do that because I can't move apps to my SD card and I had stuff on TB but when you do a full wipe you lose it all. So I tried moving the back up to my SD card and it will not read that back up of TB on my SD card
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda app-developers app
I don't follow you...when I full wipe it doesn't format my internal sdcard..
Now again when I switched to cm10 from stock I had to manually go to
data/media/ and I had to move my entire titanium folder to the new internal sdcard location and then titanium found my backups fine.
I think he wiped the internal SD.
