[Q] Accidentally deleted Allshare App - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I accidentally deleted the Allshare App from my Samsung Galaxy Note II. I just purchased a Samsung F8000 TV and would like to utilize this software. In my application manager I can see the Allshare Cast Dongle and the Allshare Service, but no Allshare App. My phone is not rooted and I would prefer not to root it or do a factory reset. I have contacted Samsung customer service and they told me I need to do a factory reset. Does anybody know of any options for either reinstalling the Allshare App or quality 3rd party replacements?

Did you happen to disable it. I know it's a stupid question but without being rooted I don't know how you would have removed it. And have you checked the play store to see if it's there

With the last apps update All Share become Samsung Link, check if you have this app.
Check also if you don't disabled the app in the App Aanager, on the "All app" tab, disabled app are on bottom. Without root, it's normally not possible to delete an app, you can only disable certain app.

Found it!
It was disabled and at the bottom of the applications manager page. Thank you for informing me about the disabled apps at the bottom of application manager! Thank you all for the quick responses.

[Q] Samsung Account - can I remove?

I don't use Samsung Account for anything at the moment and was wondering if there is any reason to leave it on my phone? Are there other applications that may lag and slow down my phone if I remove this account? Thanks.

If rooted, you can flash a rom that has removed it, or freeze it with Rom Toolbox Pro or Titanium Backup. Another alternative is Settings, Device Manager. Scroll over two screens to ALL. Scroll down to the app of your choice and click DISABLE. This will keep it from running, but allows you to ENABLE at a later time if you wish. The disabled app now goes to the bottom of the list. You need not to be rooted for this method

I meant remove the account from settings menu. I'm stock JB. I don't use it for sync and have disabled 'samsung app' store and 'more services'. Does anything on the phone rely on samsung account?

Nope, you can remove it without affecting the phone or the apps you have installed already.

Safe list of bloatware apps to turn off?

Does anybody know a list of pre-installed apps that can be safely "turned off" in our device? This is of course referring to pre-installed apps that can't be uninstalled.
I've read that sometimes turning off certain apparently inoffensive apps may bring instability to the device.
For example, I was just checking my location settings and I saw that AT&T Navigator had been requesting location (with high battery usage), but I don't use that app at all, so I'm plan on turning it off, but I wonder in what other apps that can be done safely.

Generally the asps that allow you to "disable" them are all okay to turn off.

I disabled anything that had to do with att.

The only thing I've found that I had to enable was S Voice, I kept getting a pop up on the camera because it uses it for the selfie camera trigger.
Same here. Disabled everything AT&T and left S Voice active.
Everything ATT except MyAtt and s voice
I've disabled all att stuff and a few other things like s health, s voice, galaxy apps, Samsung account, Samsung billing, Samsung link, remote, print services, ANT services, milk, yahoo weather
I left S Voice alone (other things make use of it), and also Galaxy Apps (allows you to update S Health)

How do disable the Samsung stuff? I can see how to stop it but I don't see an option to disable or turn off.
Also, anyone knows how to disable Lockout? All the options in app info ate greyed out, even force stop

Awesome, that worked! Weird that you have to update it to disable it
I realize this is an older thread, but for others that stumble upon it via search, here's a discussion that includes an extensive list of apps to safely be disabled.

You can install package disabler pro for a small fee.. great app but be careful when u use their auto bloatware disable feature because it can disable some stuff that your phone needs to function.. but this app let's you disable stuff that is greyed out in your app manager like music player for example.
Here is another list which I have followed. Not all of them, but quite a few. It definitely made a difference.
Now, I think many of those you would need to be rooted to do. And of course we know that's not much good now for AT&T phones.
I'm on a T-Mobile Note 4, rooted, so I was OK to try. I did the TIBU/Freeze method.

[Q] When in the playstore online it shows I have apps installed that I don't have

When I'm signed into my google account online and go to the playstore, it shows that certain apps are installed on my device. This is not accurate though.
Is there a way to delete all apps that I've ever installed from my account? I don't mind if I have to start over, thought I rather now create a new gmail account.
Any thoughts on this as I'm pretty puzzled.
And any old phone that I owned I factory reset before I sold.
Thank you

Check which apps are shown as installed but not on your app drawer. This is most likely you have disabled (frozen) the app. Go to your application manager and see if they are there or not.
You can remove all apps, but I don't think there's a 1-click way to do it. You can either uninstall them 1 by 1 or start from scratch (factory reset) and uncheck backup/restore in settings.
Thanks for the tip. This still doesn't help. What I did was go into my Play Store, delete every app that was just sitting there, apps that I had previously downloaded before on previous phones. I then restarted my phone, go back into the app store on a computer that I never downloaded anything on and it still shows that these apps are installed on my device, without the option to uninstall on the web on the computer.
I'd like to think I'm tech savvy but this one has me scratching my head.
well playstore does not have a feature to remove it from your account directly.
cnet had an article on it and it should have updated after you deleted the history of those apps . unless google changed something again.

Yeah that method no longer works.

Uninstalling Galaxy Apps

What is up with this? The Galaxy Apps app is installing all kinds of applications, by itself, without a prompt whatsoever. And most of them don't even show up as an app installed on my device? Is there a way to stop this from happening and way to uninstall them? I couldn't find anything within the app.
I'd like to know that answer as well.
Go into the Galaxy Apps app and then go into Settings.
Disable "Auto update apps" by setting it to "Turn off".
You can even disable notifications about updates.
On the AT&T version of the Note 7, you cannot disable or uninstall the Galaxy Apps app.
So I just killed it from doing anything.

Hmmm, I swear I tried to find this on my Verizon phone and couldn't. I'll take a look in a few and let you know. Thanks.
Wow, no idea how I missed that on my phone. It's there. LOL.
WTF. I swear it wasn't before. Thanks again.

Question: Can I Safely Uninstall Apps from Google Play that are Disabled on My Phone?

Hi Everyone,
I have a Samsung S20+, but this pertains to all Samsungs.
There are certain apps that cannot be disabled or uninstalled on my phone (Ex: Samsung Internet and Microsoft Your Phone Companion). The options to Disable are greyed out and there is no option to Uninstall like other apps.
When going to these apps within Google Play, however, I see the option to uninstall both. I don't want to mess anything up on my phone, but does anyone know if it's safe to uninstall from Google Play and not mess up your phone?
Thanks in advance.
You can use adb to disable both of these.
