AOKP JB Bugs List & Solutions GSM 12/9/12

Right guys THIS thread is for reporting bugs\issues and for solutions, PLEASE USE THIS THREAD and keep the DEV THREAD CLEAR. We need that thread clear for Deving uses. i will update this with every new release\hot\bugfix. if your unsure on how to create a logcat please refer to this thread
Please post logcats and please post your error like this:

DETAILED ERROR HERE (not just wifi doesnt work, explain on how it didnt work so we can reproduce)

ummm..i wanted sleep to wake ..can i use cm10 kernel wch has sleep to wake? or i cant ? modules are different?

use sleep to wake kernel if you want BUT i will NOT support any bug reports from people using that kernel...

I havent tried it myself - so just try it
But actually nothing bad can happen

Nvm... just saw them in your list.
Superuser.apk non existent in /system/app. Flash a superuser flashable zip for temporary fix. note: su in xbin is present.
L.E: took these files from PrimoC version.
push these files in /system/app
set the right permissions (flash a superuser zip in cwm first because superuser is borked for the moment).
reboot
now rom control and themes should work.

anyone on this rom can confirm battery drain even when phone is sleeping? i had 20 battery left when i slpt at night.. and morning i saw phone was turned off .. and screen blink issues when unlocking phone?

problems with bt.. no matter which type of file i send the recipient always receives it in. html format and transfer completes in less than a sec dafuq :0

earphone problem
problem with headset/earphone, not detected when plugged.

I find out this:
- lack of "mobile data" and "2G/3G" toggles
- lack of any file explorer
- after some time something strange (like fading and shrinking) happens with some letters in apps and settings (on NOVA Launcher Premium)
- MusicFX seems doesn't work
I'm using kernel from 1st post of AOKP thread
And here's some questions:
1) Is there any possibility of containing in this ROM options such "hide status bar on lock screen" and "transparent (or half-transparent) status bar"?

i just do another test to make sure,
i revert to my old roms (cyanogen cm10 test 78) and the headphones works fine, then i reflash back to aokp and the problem came back, headphones not detected, and the music play trough speaker, is like the headphones not there.

you have an app that eats you the battery. install a battery monitor app from the market and see what's eating all the juice. screen blink issue is present also in cmx, so it is a kernel problem.

It doesn't look like a bug to me.
When you choose the bootloader restart, the phone goes in Miui screen, but doesnt power off and loops there.

Works fine for me....think some app of yours is causing ....try full wipe and see....I will also have look at your logcat when I use my computer...but Screenshots from my phone showing that it works

With the installed fix, the battery is very very nice in comparison to the time before, but i think there is a long delay of 5 secounds when you press the power button until the screen turns on. This was already found in the old release 2.8 but got fixed with the new cm10 kiss kernel. But after i flashed the button fix , it came back
And btw is there maby a fix for the black beam in status bar? It doent seems to be pretty nice :'(

But this isnt the probpem.it is the deep sleep when the screen turns off. Anyway its nicer to have such a great battery power and justcthos little black svreen . Its just for about 3 secounds

CM10 Notification Rings Problem

I have a problem, I can not do that with the notification ringtones work. Have you turned off the option prefis, swapped rings system and has even put mp3 as ringtone and still can not make it work.
Has anyone had this problem and managed to solve?

Yes, I have tried in various positions of volume.
Already joined the volumes of ringtones and notifications and returned to separate.
I do not know what else to try to make it work.
Pity because I really like this Rom.

Both the 17/9 and 01/10 does the same.

Stock 4.3 maguro and display sensitive

Hy with 4.3 I had problems in the keyboard area, I installed cm11 and no problems, back to 4.3 with toolkit and no problem.
What can be appened!??
The keyboard area sensitive was very bad as when it's on charge.
Opinions and tips to avoid the problem in the future?

if stock keyboard, just try disable this gesture typing.
- if all setting properly checked but still got issues try reset keyboard by clear data & cache from setting> apps> keyboard.
- if still the same, re-root, install back any good ROM or custom kernel.
thats why we here, bcoz we dont want to use something c**** from stock!!

Yeah i did a factory reset and after that i also disabled gesture typing now i am using it for few days just to check it but today gesture typing got enabled by it self so i will test it for few days and then i will post the result but i think that it might have solved the problem..... But to be sure i will test it for few days...

Do you have Google keyboard v3?

Install swype.
Profit.
I WAS also having issues with lag on swype, but after disabling all the settings I don't use(like next word prediction, the aosp spell checker) and double space period, and then disabled auto spacing but then enable auto spacing again(for some reason my lag did not go away until I toggled this off/on again) things are running smooth.
You can try same with Google keyboard settings, and if you don't need aggressive spell check then disable that as well.
If it mainly lags while you are on the charger, it could also be due to the device getting warm and CPU hitting the thermal throttle temperature causing max freq of 700mhz to be used until CPU temp drops again.

The problem is like this and is not solved

I will tell you my exact problem...
It happens mostly when i am typing on xda website.. When typing everything is perfect but when i press backspace it deletes the letters of the first line even though i press only backspace it changes its position (reason unknown) and also when i am scrolling throughout the page sometimea it throws me to the top.. It also happens in messages and about that prs i also tested it and most of the time it is above 40 but it is not constantly over 40 so that maybe the reason....

Any good rom/kernel to fix my issue? Without battery drain of cyanogen if possible

Btw i am on stock rom and one more thing is that when i am in settings prs is mostly less than 40 and if i disable pointer then its response becomes better

Colour gamma at 6 seems solves! I'll try

Installed cm 10.2.1 stable and franco kernel. I set gamma at 6 and let you know as soon as possible

Switched the rom to cm11 because it was not being solved so now it is ok
It was annoying and typing was very difficult with it
It is still present but I am ok with it since cm rom is the most bug free rom (atleast for me)

What are the current problems with your current ROM be it any ROM (cm,RR,omni,Slim..etc) (but lollipop)

As I check the sources the patch is already applied in cm13.So any other ?
EDIT : the patch is also in cm12.1

Opening the recents menu in landscape mode freezes Android and could eventually end up in a forced reboot.

Well on all roms except slimlp the multitasking is bad,and as tye guy below said landscape mode causes freezes(again,except slimlp because of the slim recents I guess).
BTW,thanks a lot for your effort to revive our hox,sold my other phone yesterday and now its my main and only device

The music issue when you turn on/off screen or when multitasking where playback stops and stutters for a second or 2.

Can you try through Google play music ? As it help me decide whether its Audiofx or Some other is culprit

I just tested with audiofx off and eq off and it still stops and starts.

So I have ruled out all the possibilities and now I think what is giving you this problem this problem is because of the change in CPU frequency when screen turns on / off I will patch it in my kernel :laugh: So I think problem solved !?

Done! It is CPU throttling. You can try to change your governor to performance then it's fixed
