hi
I'm thinking of getting LG-F180L red wine from South Korea, It is an korean version.
However I have several questions which I couldnt find answers to anywhere.
I live in the UK, 3 is my network. LTE comes out in several monts time, its going to be 1800mhz , is it going to work with this phone?
Also it is 32GB version but there was an info on wikipedia that is has micro sd slot anyways and removable battery which I dont know if its true, the model which im thinking about is LG-F180L RED WINE from korea.
Here is the info from wikipedia ''This Optimus G variant is similar to the E973 model with additional Japan-exclusive features such as FeliCa wallet support, a removable battery, a waterproof hydrophobic coating on all components and support for band 1 2100mhz LTE. The phone is also available in a currently-exclusive Red color.''
So.. is this korean red wine version same as japanese one?
thx
two times the same questions. why???
Never heard about a red wine version of korean G.
The GK has various colors, but not the G, they are not same.
Related
So I am a real sucker for white backed phones, and since that apparently is not available in the US, and I just want the 13.0 MP camera + quad band phone, I was wondering where I could get an International White Optimus G, if anyone knows. I have the few hundred to burn for it, cost is not an issue. I know it is sold in Japan, but I am not Japanese and can't read KDDI's website at all.
I also need to know if the international version will work on AT&T LTE. I live in Seattle, which recently just went LTE last month.

F400 is Korean version and D855 is European version. They are similar, except the Korean version has a TV antenna, but no stock wireless charging. It seems the European version has stock wireless charing. From what I know, the Korean versions get the updates first and then the rest of the world.
my Korean F400K has the coil for wireless charging in the back cover.
so should the other koreans

Are you sure it is for wireless charging and not NFC? If you have 2 contacts on the battery cover is only NFC. If you have 4 contacts then you indeed have NFC+wireless charging.
There is no diffrente in the development?
The Korean version comes with 2 batteries and a wireless charging...I deduced that it is able to charge wirelessly
Isn't that right?

Hey liljom...
I'm looking in my G3 F400S's (Korean) hidden menu and confirming that it works with the following bands:
WCDMA: 800, 850, 900, AWS (?), 1900, 2100.
GSM: 850, 900, 1800, 1900.
LTE: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 17, 20, 28, 40.
Also would like to say for those with the Korean version...I've rooted mine and flashed the SphinX G3 Neo V2.0 ROM...and I must say that I'm more than happy!!!
I'm able to access all hidden features like LTE-Only, my "home" ain't in Korea anymore, the default weather app is now Accuweather...and many other stuff that I preffer.
So concluding...root, install SphinX ( there's also the VDT V8 Full, but I find it too difficult to install and gave up) and install the G3 Tweaksbox from Google Play (you'll be able to modify many features from your ROM).
That's it guys...Have fun!
back cover are the same size or not?
found some nice back cover replacements on aliexpress for 4euro but it says only for lg f400.
(i dont care about wirless charging or nfc i use a tpu case any way)
just want to know if it wil fit. can't find a lot of info
I don't understand and there doesn't look to be a simple and clear explanation about what I'm asking, so here it goes:
What is the difference between the F180 versions and the e975? I mean, I've heard F180 are from korea but mine is also made in korea. Does it mean it is a F180?
Sry if this is noob, but I've always had this doubt ..
Thank
Where the phone is made has nothing to do with the model. F180S/K/L are the phones for three carriers on Korean market. In a nutshell, F180 uses the same hardware as E975. Two main differences:
1. F180 has a DVB module instead of FM Radio in E975 (with a telescopic TV antenna in the upper right left corner). This feature is useless outside of Korea, but doesn't cause any problems (just doesn't work). If you don't have this antenna on your phone, you can be sure it's not F180.
2. LTE bands are different from E975, and also different between three F180 models. Few people are reporting that LTE on F180 actually works in some countries outside of Korea, but be ready to accept the fact that you will not have LTE.
For more details, look up topics about F180 to E975 conversion and associated problems (mostly with the network signal and screwed-up IMEI). There is A LOT of info on the subject.
Thanks a lot!
I understand it now
Hello,
I been looking for the perfect LG G3 Dual Sim model in terms of Specs..
and since i found more than one model.. D856 , D857, D858 and D859
can anyone help me figure out what is are the differences among them ?

Hi
I've just ordered the D856 which for me (being based in the UK) is the better option considering that includes the LTE 800 band. I know the D858 does not include this band but I'm not entirely sure about the other two variants.

Hi c1181427,
I'm interested in getting a dual sim LG G3, also based in the UK. I'm currently on Vodafone so the D856 would be the ideal version. Can I ask where you ordered your D856 from?
Thanks in advance,
philipkkan

D858HK would work fine on Vodafone as well as it has band 2600 which is LTE+ used by Vodafone UK
Hi.I got mine from a website called from.ae they are based in UAE and the phone was delivered in five days.
Tbh I still haven't worked out the difference between the d856 and d858
One thing I noticed is that on mine there's barely any LG app installed (I think 2) which is surprising coming from a Samsung s4...Not sure if this is standard on LG phones or it's just this version

Hi c1181427,
Thanks for the info, I'll look into it now. Did you have to pay any customs on the phone?
Samsul,
Thanks but I live in Aberdeen, and work just outside the city. The 800mhz frequency already has poor coverage and so I don't even want to think about how little I will see 4G speeds if I am restricted to only the 2600mhz frequency. I'm not actually sure the 2600mhz frequency is in operation here anyway.

hi guys, my D856 has no LG apps pre-installed and it came with Google Play already installed. is this the case with the other dual sim variants too?
how much free RAM do you get on your G3's?

Hi guys, I bought a 858HK and it does not have the 800Mhz for 4G in UK
I also got slapped on import duty by £80
so the phone cost me £460
I am willing to sell if anyone wants it
Its a beautiful phone, very fast, the DUAL SIM is essential for work and personal and it comes with some LG apps that are much better than all my previous HTC phones
I've also had to pay £80 import duty but luckily the phone cost me a bit less
I was also hoping to get LTE 800 with my D856 (as advertized in the official LG spec sheet) but nothing...luckily LTE still works with my 3 UK SIM

Not sure if that's the case...
Got one 858HK yesterday, and so far it doesn't want to do 4G on my Vodafone UK SIM even though it does 2600MHz.
Spoken to Vodafone support and the lady who did not have much clue about the subject, could not confirm if vodafone uses both 800 and 2600, she was saying that in the UK it is only 800Mhz for LTE which is a bit odd and doesn't tie up with information provided here:
Code:
http://www.4g.co.uk/4g-frequencies-uk-need-know/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vodafone_UK
On the wikipedia it says "LTE Advance" any body has an idea what that is?
The other thing is that the phone could be faulty as well. Need to try the EE SIM somewhere as that should be on 1800 and 2600Mhz.......
Edit: Apparently Voda UK does 2.6GHz in big agglomerations such as London, Birmingham, Manchester.... (this is not officially confirmed)
