Is anyone else having this issue? It was fine when it was Allcast. After it updated to Link it's a really bad drain.
Nope I never use all cast though. I'd just freeze it. Unless you use it.

I never use it either. I'm going to freeze it, later. It's like it's constantly trying to find something to sync to on its own.

Did you make sure that allcast is turned off under settings?
Yea, it was turned off. I uninstalled the update and decided not have the battery drain now. There seems to be something wrong with the update.

I am facing the same problem with my Samsung Galaxy S3. There are no ways to stop the application which is running in the background. even if you force it stop, it has no effect.

Got no idea else than uninstalling the update. Uninstalling update successfully solved the problem of battery drainage..
I uninstalled my Samsung apps, which I never use anyway and disabled what I can and that seems to have fixed the issue.

I just noticed this problem today. I also noticed that the quick settings notification for Allshare isn't displaying correctly. It's showing that Allshare is off but when you dive (deeply) into the settings you can see that it's still active. I made sure it was switched off and I'll see if this fixes the battery drain.

So lately my phone's developed the above mentioned problem. I've set it to turn off after 30 secs but obviously it's not doing that. I'm guessing it has to do with some app i installed but how do i figure out which one's causing the problem?
I'm stock with the latest firmware. Not rooted

If you believe it is an app that is not allowing it to shutdown the screen, go see what running apps in the App Manager looks suspicious. shut them down if you find it. Or do a reboot. Do you also have smart stay enabled and staring at the screen? I only ask because I have stupidly done that...
I had that problem yesterday and then it just went away by itself
i tried battery pull n everything... nothing.
so i deleted a couple of apps and it's back to normal now. I deleted drivelink and pulse. If i were to bet i think drivelink was the culprit as it was installed as an apk
i have drivelink tooo
so thats the problem eh
perfect.. cuz it just staarted happening again

man, that's already the 3rd if not 4th thread abut this issue, one being opened by myself...
glad that I'm not the only one...
at beginning I thought it'd be a faulty/bent usb connector, as experienced by others, but since I am redaing of others with the same problem after upgrading, then it cannot be...
have you install;ed the OTA or started from cratch? have you cleaned dalvik cache? (I did with no avail) do you see a pattern in your wakeups? is it every x minutes? is it at random?
as regards me, it happens also when wifi and 3g and sync is off (but 2g on, that is I can only receive calls), so it cannot be anything related to signals...
I have installed BetterBatteryStats and will be sending a couple of resports to the developer trying to see if he can understand what is going on and what wakes up the phone...
I did a completely clean install... Wipe data and cache... Installed the OTA rom available on developers section.
Do tell me if you are able to find a solution.

I don't have wechat and the problem is there so no it's not wechat
I am in the same boat, Thegios.
No Wechat... No Daydream.
I have noticed my screen waking about every 10-15 minutes. It only happens when connected to my Wifi. My N7 does not wake at all. I have wiped the Cache and noticed my "Android System" hogging my battery stats.
I am trying to search what Apps I have settings for something like "sync only on wifi"... from there I should be able to find what is turning the screen on. I have BetterBattery Stats installed, and am trying to dig a little deeper there as well.

I have tried with bbs as well but found notjing wrong
i've read all the reports of bugs, and the people with issues seem to have flashed the stock AOSP rom.. i dont have any of the issues described and the way i installed 4.2 was first flashing the takju 4.1.2 with nexus toolkit and then i got the 4.2 OTA from "about phone"->update.. oh and i have daydream activated.
For those of you with high android system usage, are you downloading music from Google pay music for offline usage? I did and I got this sudden increase. this has never happened to my phone before. Maybe Google play music needs update?

Your problem may have been resolved but wechat and daydream is not the solution to this as many of us aren't using either and still having this issue. I think I'm going back to bone stock 4.1.2 and going to let the OTA upgrade me to 4.2 and see what happens.
wechat is NOT the solution people, as the Google Code page suggest this is a sync issue that could be caused by a number of apps.

Sorry to report this but my phone has been bone stock since I bought it, got the 4.2 OTA, not using wechat or daydream and I still have this issue.
This is driving me insane. I'm running stock 4.2, and my phone keeps randomly rebooting in my pocket. I've never used a different ROM, only rooted. Only thing I could say is that I tried to use SuperUser to keep my root after the OTA upgrade, and it did not keep it successfully (is that actually possible yet, btw? I know the GNex Toolkit doesn't seem to support it).
No ideas here. I know I can reset, and I probably will at this point, but.. any causes?
I had the same problem and I find out that hd widget app is making my phone to reboot. After I uninstalled the app I don't have the rebooting problems. If you have the same app try to uninstall it and see if the revolting stops.

I do have that app, and the thought crossed my mind - I was wracking my brain to remember whether or not the rebooting began before or after that install a few days ago.. I will uninstall it and see what happens. Thank you!

Pretty sure the reboots are location service related and a bug in 4.2. Hard for me to tell, because I am on AOSP which is a bit different in that regard.

That's what I hear. Which I don't get because I don't use the weather widget, only the clock (unless you're talking time zones or something). Or unless you mean I don't have GPS enabled and it's trying to use it?
I also heard it's from a bug with Google on the 3rd party lockscreen widgets in general.
I've had several random reboots since I got a Fitbit Flex on 5/3. It links to the phone via BT 4.0.
I run Perseus kernel, so it could be the newest update, but my wife runs full stock unrooted and said her phone restarted this weekend. She has a Fitbit Flex paired with her phone also.
Anybody else have a Fitbit Flex or other BT 4.0 device and getting random reboots?
No! but now that you say that. Glad I'm thinkin on getting the Jawbone up. In a week or so.
I would try that one and see if you get the same results. I'm quite sure they both do the same thing!!

I did a lot of research into these things, and I looked at the UP. A few things I didn't like about the UP: It's too thick all around, isn't comfortable to use while typing on a keyboard, have to take it off and plug it into your phone to sync, people lose the little cap on the device all the time. I'm happy with the Flex so far, just noticed this freezing and reboot the past few days (which could be kernel related, not ruling it out).

At least 2 a day. It's hard to judge because I'll pull it out and notice that the keyboard has been reset to the Samsung default, which occurs after a reboot. I was using it today and it just froze up and restarted, stuck at the Samsung logo, and required a battery pull.
are you over clocked or underclocked? What perseus settings did you mess with?
Try flashing a different rom/kermel..

I've been on SKY ROM 8.2 for months and haven't had restarts. Always on the newest Perseus, currently 36.3. I don't change the settings.
I flashed Sean Z's stock modded ma4 kernel and still had reboots.
Think I might try going back to Perseus 35 to see how that works for me today.

Well, I'm pretty certain that this is either Fitbit or bluetooth 4.0 related.
I tried several different remedies, and my phone was still frozen each morning when woke up. Finally, I disabled background BT 4.0 syncing in the Fitbit app, and have not had a freeze/reboot since then.
Anybody else have a Fitbit Flex or other BT 4.0 device and experience this same behavior?
I have had a fitbit since Christmas, but only recently started having reboot/freezing issues. If I turn off my bluetooth at night, it is never frozen in the morning. Forgot last night and it was frozen this morning.
As for talk of the Jawbone Up, I had six of them over the course of about 5 months, would never recommend one. It will also catch on things since it doesn't link. It was a nice idea, just didn't seem executed very well.

If you've had it since Christmas, I assume it's a One instead of a Flex? I see that the One has BT 4.0 syncing also. I think they just recently enabled the BT 4.0 syncing in an app update, so that may be why yours started freezing.
I recommend you try the same thing I did. Go into the device settings in the Fitbit app and disable background syncing. The app will still sync when you open it, but won't do it periodically overnight. I don't know if it's background syncing that causes an issue, or if it's the higher frequency of syncs when background sync is enabled that causes a higher probability of freezing.

You are correct, I have the One, with problems starting with the latest update. I didn't have the lockups with the background synch before it.
It doesn't really bother me to much, just inconvenient to have to pull the cover and battery occasionally for a freeze.
I will try your suggestion though and disable background synch and see if it solves the problem. Thanks.

Ive had the same problems ever since Ive gotten my fitbit flex as well, and Im on stock and have never rooted
Glad to see I'm not crazy. I'm 100% sure this is something to do with the Note II and Fitbit Flex. I updated the Fitbit app last week and noticed that day that my phone was unresponsive at work. I had to pull the battery and restart it, then I saw the Fitbit app had gone back to background updates when I updated it, causing the freeze.
Prior to that, it had been almost 2 months since my phone froze, corresponding exactly with when I turned off background sync.
What a bummer, because I like background sync. I'm not sure if this is caused by the Fitbit app (or service), or if it's the Note II's BT 4.0.
Same problem here with Fitbit Flex and G Note II on T-Mobile
I've been experiencing the same thing with my Flex and Note II on T-Mobile. Running Jedi Master 14.
Phone will lockup overnight, or at random times during the day.
Going to try and disable the background syncing and will report back.
Random reboots - Fitbit Flex and BT 4.0
I am also having random reboots. I originally thought it was my device and took it to the device support center three times. I finally determined it was one of my apps. After a little trial and error determined it was my Fitbit App. I haven't reinstalled it yet -- my phone hasn't rebooted in 5 days.
Does anyone know for sure if it's just turning off the background sync that resolves the issue? I use NFC and typically open and sync that way.

Sorry I didn't reply sooner. As soon as I disabled background sync, the problem went away. I actually did a market research study at their HQ in SF this week and shared my experience. They mentioned knowing about some problems with Samsung phones and that they are working on it.

Excellent! Thanks for the quick reply -- I was certainly missing my Fitbit app. I'll give it a go! Here's to no more random reboots :good:
I'll report back to also confirm for everyone.:fingers-crossed:
I can also confirm with absolute certainty that it's the background sync. I've always encountered random reboots or freezing daily when Fitbit background sync is enabled, and never experienced them when it's disabled.
I know there's another auto brightness thread but I think my problem is different. I'll turn it on, leave the phone in standby for a while, and when I use the phone again I find the auto brightness doesn't have the check mark there anymore? Has anyone else noticed this?
I was wondering why my battery was draining so fast when I was using it. That's when I realized my setting was at full brightness but the Auto had become unchecked so it was running at 100 constantly without auto adjusting. I've used the 100/Auto checked on all my other Samsung devices dating back to the Note 2 and S3.
I'm thinking it's a software glitch which will hopefully be fixed in a future update. If it is, I'll live with it for now...
I actually had the same issue and I found that the issue was related to game recorder app I just uninstalled and now is fine
Interesting... I don't have any kind of recorder apps so I'm kind of at a loss as to what other app could cause that...

For what it's worth, I started having other issues yesterday morning. When I first got the phone, and did the OTA, I did a factory reset as was widely recommended to do. Apparently it din't clear up everything.
What I ended up doing was, yesterday, I did another reset using the Samsung Smart Switch software. I backed up what I could, let it reset, and restored afterward. So far it's been 24 hrs and no issues.

Interesting.. car mode is the culprit? That's not the only bug in that app then. There's an option to auto close the app when the bluetooth connection is disconnected from the car.. it doesn't work for me.
