You can extract all your apps from your nandroid using titanium backup pro

Changing roms l without losing data.

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade to gingervillan from the defrost 6.1 rom without losing my data and settings? Do I do a nandroid or titanium backup? I'm kinda new to the rooting scene.

You will lose your settings as you are flashing a new Rom.
1. To keep apps: titanium backup (backup apps + data)
2. If you want to keep other data such as messages etc: my backup pro (this can backup your apps too but rather use titanium for apps)

backup files are on ur microsd , nand backup should be in clockworkmod folder (if u're using clockworkmod recovery) , as for apps backed up by titanium they are in the titanium folder
when u do a wipe and flash a new ROM,just install titanium again and restore the apps u want.

Actually settings can be saved, too (Homescreen, Icons, widgets, Messages, WiFi etc. ) with Titanium backup.
you should also ofcourse do a NANDbackup if you ever want to go back to your old rom. when you restore a NANDbackup everything will look the same as before the rom change.

CWM backup ?

hi all
so i regularly backup my note 2 before I rom it with a new rom.
my question is, if i wanted to copy the cwm backup files off the phone for backup, do i just need the dated backup folder or do i also need the blobs folder if i wanted to do a restore. ?
You'll need blobs too. That's basically the backup files.

[Q] titanium backup

Hi guys, I will update my rom CM10 (since goomanager says it has an update) and this is my first time using titanium backup. I back up an app and where will that backup be saved? I need to wipe my system and that includes wiping titanium backup. So lets say i already flashed the latest update rom for my phone, then installed titanium backup. Will my backup files still be there?

[Q] how to back up everything befor flashing a rom?

hello guys i just wanna ask how to bake up all the stuff on my grand to restore it after flashing a new rom if its possible to do that as a zip file to flash it through cwm and plz i need the step by step way to do that if it was by using tetanium back up thanx alot in advanced
Firstly it is backup and not bake up.
And why do you need to make the backup as a flashable zip. You're making things more complicated.
Just backup through CWM by going to backup and restore>backup to storage/sdcard1 or 0.
You can simply restore it by going to backup and restore>restore and select your restoration file.

And on rr 5.0.3 using evolution kernel 1.5
Use titanium backup to backup user apps
Use cmw recovery to backup full rom

thnx but is it possible to backup my apps through cwm?
By going to backup and restore>backup to storage/sdcard1 or sdcard0 everything gets backed up, even the apps.
To restore just go to backup and restore>restore from sdcard1.

[Q] Restoring app data/settings after flashing CloudyG3 V2.0 ROM

So I did a full nandroid backup with TWRP
Then I flashed CloudyG3 V2.0 ROM
It started syncing all my google data(so all the apps that I had downloaded) but what it didnt do was sync the App data & settings
Now I want to know how I can restore the app data/settings from the nandroid backup that I made?
In the TWRP Manager menu it only allows me to select the full backup folder, which would entirely restore my phone to the previous rom but I don't want to do that lol
Thanks in advance!
You should have used titanium backup or similar to backup the apps dont believe there is a way to restore app data from nandroid. You could backup your current rom restore old rom then backup using tb and then restore the other rom and then restore settings with tb
