Are you restoring app data with titanium backup ? or other restore app ??
Generally, if you do, the chance of system contamination goes up dramatically.
Clean install of roms is one thing, clean install of apps is another entirely.

[Q] More than one Android backup?

Story goes thusly - immediately after rooting, I made a nandroid backup. The next day I was preparing to start flashing ROMs for the first time, so I nandroided again. Later (after trying 3 or 4 ROMs looking for a favorite, I noticed I had about 2.5gb missing from the empty space on my phone. This DiskUsage screen shows what happened - I have 2 nandroid backups. I thought Android backups over wrote each other! Anyways, I only want one of them - would I break something using root explorer to delete one? If so, is there a safer way to delete the older nandroid backup?
Thanks for your time!

Odd Question

Galaxy S3 on AT&T
ive rooted and installed numerous custom roms. for some reason, whenever i do, ALL of my APPS are there still, even after i "delete user data/factory wipe"
no matter what rom i install, the same apps are always there, as well as my settings.
ive even gone as far as triangle away, fully back to stock. and still it happens..
like is it taking up space in a partition that i cannot clear? or is there settings there are there that i dont know about?
Are you restoring your apps from a backup after the rom install or do you have backups in a zip file on your sd card?
HTC Sensation z710e
ICS 4.0.3
Sense version 4.0
Software Sense-o-maniac v1.4
Kernel. 3.0.30 Bricked v1.4
Radio 11.68.3504
Do you have the option to back up and auto restore checked?

looks like automatic restore is on. how to remove apps from auto-installing?
expect maybe for the ones i want ?
I think its all or nothing on that one. Just uncheck all those options.

another boot loop

I was runnung Android Revolution,
last week I've decided to switch to another ROM because my battery started to lose charge in half a day.
And i've got this boot loop while trying to flash an Aroma I think... Today is the fifth day of my attempts to fix the device. I've allready tried to restore my backups from CWM, tried at least four different ROMS, tried super_wipe_scripts.zip, tried to clear all I can (except SD) before install, readed related posts in this forum and tested allmost all sugestions.
Now i've ended with miui looped boot, but, sometimes my phone boots to ROMs wellcome screen, once i even was able to select a language and coonect to wifi and then loop was started again...

Message pauses/lags screen

This just happened recently for reasons I can't think of. I haven't done anything new. I'm using Android revolution HD for a while now. Recently, a random message simply saying 'At' comes up and pauses whatever in doing. It's extremely annoying and I can't find a way to stop it. Here's some screenshots:

Make a nandroid backup, then install the rom with a full wipe. Don't restore any apps or data and use the phone for a while. Only install apps you really need like social media and message apps. If it's gone it's likely some app in the background causing it.
I did that. Also checked the background apps and deleted all new or updated apps. Still showed up. I really don't understand it...

Failing to Restore Data part in Backups using TWRP

Hi,
The other day while facing the whole "sprint data issue" i followed candy roms posted workaround that states "make a backup of stock, flash candy, backup candy, restore stock, restore candy" with little changes in between each flash/restore. However, this is the error message i got when attempting to restore ANY of my made backups. seems to fail only on DATA restore so my workaround was to uncheck "data" when restoring a backup and all works well of course with a blank fresh rom with no data since it wouldnt restore that part, heres the screenshot i took. or pic from another phone actually since it was in recovery and you cannot do screenshots while in TWRP..

but if anyone has had similiar experience please let me know , i beleive i was restoring the backups from phones storage and tried also sd card and both would fail on data restore.as i said only success is hitting advanced and unchecking the data portion .
