What is the G7- same as A8181?

OK, I do know the difference between the A8181 and A8183. I am seeing quite a few cheap chinese dealers selling something called "HTC Desire G7" and the photos & specs look identical to A8181.
Can someone explain the differences please?

G7 sounds like a T-Mobile designation similar to what they did with the HTC: Dream (G1), Magic (F2f I think) and Hero (G3 or G4)

G7 means htc desire in china,as same as A8181
G1~G7 means htc's android phone:dream, magic, hero, tatto, nexus one, legend and desire

G7 in Australia?
Hi Guys,
As mentioned before, the G7 on the chinese websites seems to be way cheaper than what you can get in Australia(see TradeTang). However, I was just wondering if the phone would work as well as the A8181 on any network, and if there is any trade off in terms of quality?

How can I tell where my Desire is from

I have an unlocked HTC desire (Grey Color) that I bought in Dubai. How would I be able to tell if this is a European version that is supposed to get the Froyo update releasing shortly?

Branded or not?

Hi guys. I just got a new HTC Desire that was supposed to be unbranded. There is no brand splash screen when I turn it on, but there are some O2 configurations on the phone (like o2 mail, and o2 scene).
I found out that the software version (1.20.207.3) is actually a o2 branded version. I also find out that I got a SLCD Desire, if that matters
The problem is that I didn't get any Froyo update on System Software Updates. Do you have any ideia why? And is it positive that my phone is branded even without the splash screen?

I think o2 pulled their ota again because some desire became bricked. If you want there are links to manually download the update.

[Q] htcsense.com - Dashboard only on branded phones?

Hi,
on my T-Mobile branded Desire HD AND on my GFs T-Mobile branded Sensation we can only see the Dashboard when logging in to htcsense.com.
On the unbranded Desire Z of my colleague i see way more and could edit the phonbook, see the sms and so on.
HTC sais that there is no differrence in htcsense.com between branded and unbranded phones but i don't think so.
Is it right that htcsense.com is only complete when you own a unbranded phone?

HTCSense.com is broken since January, and the lazy tech crew at HTC seems to be unable to fix it. The behavior you are experiencing is not normal, but it is not rare either

Anyone ever had SW update for HTC Desire 820s dual sim?

Hi all,
Has anyone ever got any SW update for HTC Desire 820s Dual sim? I am stuck on 4.4.4 for last year and half (from the time of purchase)
Looks like a bad decision to get this phone

Same here man. The phone is great otherwise but no software update is killing me. Any news from HTC?
