I don't see why it would when 3.3 never worked.
Now if we were talking about 6.4.500bis, then I could write a dissertation...

I am baffled by your question exactly. What is this 3.x you speak of, for what exactly are you questioning?
TerrorCandii Inc.

3.4????
Are you talking about Android Jelly Bean 4.3?
Android Jelly Bean 4.3 has not been released yet (as of this date I am responding, not released yet). So at this point in time (as of this date I am responding) the answer is no.

Pretty sure CyanogenMod already merged 4.0.4. All it takes is someone to compile it. =P
It's not about "bringing over" a new AOSP rom called "4.0.4" it's simply about merging the changes to whatever source for whatever ROM you speak of and compiling. Every single AOSP ROM will merge 4.0.4 changes.

Yes we do? We have official and many, many roms for it. Also google said they were gonna make it a priority to get more devices Jelly Bean much faster.
Sdk ports are never good. Always run really slow even if all the drivers are in place.

Useless unless you want to dump a few thousand dollars to pay a few devs full time to get it where it needs to be.. in a month or two.

Nah. There are still some (relatively minor) bugs.
And Google doesn't have the final say in who has Jelly Bean. I'm sure we'll be able to get JB here, but Google doesn't push OTA updates for our device. Same for most others.

gonna be dropping all samsung branded devices soon, should have did so after my vibrant, would be a damn shame to see the T989 not get jellybean when the hardware would support it just fine
Forget the system dump. Just wait for the Source Code, which shouldn't take long to be out. GNexus is getting the update soon (2nd week of July is i'm hearing).
Can it be ported? The ICS is much closer to Jellybean than Ginger was to ICS. Maybe the ICS drivers might work and even the kernels.

Telus Galaxy S 2 X (T989D) To Receive Official JB Update Late Decmeber

Was just reading through MobileSyrup and came across this article.
Nice to see that we will be officially getting the update to JB. I know we have been able to get it for months via AOSP, but still nice to see what the TW version will have to offer.
Proceed to link below for info:

Wouldn't the TW rom from Samsung help the AOSP devs port over certain features like Project Butter and other?

[Q] 4.2.1 on E4GT?

Just a quick question, really. I know that FL16 has been put out for testing and whatnot, but does Samsung plan to do an OTA update to 4.2.1 for our phones in the future, or is 4.1.2 going to be it for us?
Thanks

OK, that's good to know. I'm guessing that if it doesn't happen any improvements that 4.2.1 has will eventually, if not already, be available to be loaded onto the phone in custom ROMs or through other methods?

The philosophy is that there is a unified rom that serves all N7105 based devices. It works fine. I just change the build prop to reflect my device if I get itchy about what my about phone screen shows or need something unique to the SGH-T889.
YMMV.

By changing build.prop to reflect the device is a SGH-T889 and the region is US. I'll check an AOSP backup I have and let you know the lines you need to change. It'll be a bit later today.

But I thought the whole point of splitting up the t0lte into t0lte, t0ltetmo, and t0lteatt was the address the small changes between the three devices, besides the build prop. I believe the /vendor/samsung/t0ltetmo includes a couple more files than just t0lte. Not exactly sure what these changes are, but they're existent.

I have no idea, and ^ is the closest answer I found from a good search. If the hardware and kernel are the same, the ROM should work. You may have to change the APNs, but otherwise, it should work fine.

This rom (and most other) don't include a modem. So just backup your thing, wipe data/cache/dalvik and flash the rom and you should be good.
