Hey I like how you three flamed me on a CLOSED thread (yet left it up) so that I couldn't respond to your comments. Isn't that a bit cowardly. Uh, the answer to that question is YES.
To the guy who is so thanked, if you look at anything other than the "post edited" line on my original question and somehow compared it to the original post, you would see that I changed grammar and spelling and clarified and amplified. I did not change it in response to your 'help.' So suck it, huh?
To the admins who closed the thread but also couldn't help taking pot shots at me and who comment on how the that other guy has so many contributions, I obviously noticed that. However I stand by my comments there. That guy is not a moderator and he did not directly address my question. There are many posts with no responses to them, and he should have just kept quiet until admins acted. I do not know that guy from a hole in the wall so I did not appreciate his 'answers.' I wrote in the thread that if an admin closed the thread then fine.
And you ADMINS DID close it and I of course have no problem with that. However I DO have a problem with people typing snide comments and then being too chicken to allow me to respond in kind.
ALSO, one the the stickys say that such posts will be deleted without notice. So why the asinine snide remarks instead of merely deleting the thread? Are you trying to show Sprint that you take such questions seriously and close the threads? Because otherwise you SHOULD have followed you OWN RULES and deleted the thread without notice.
Oh and I DID do a google search before posting and did not see an answer to this specific question. If you'd like you could put your money where your mouth is and email me some examples because I think you are full of it on this.
I hope you feel embarrassed at breaking your own rules and also for making such chicken**** comments essentially from behind a fortress wall. I assume you are all younger than say 15 years old.
PS I edited for grammar and sentence structure and to clarify again. duh, you, huh?
Seriously? You are blaming the guy who offered gentle advice on what not to be discussed for the timing of the head Mod closing the thread? Instead of just letting the guy leave you flamed him back again? You really should reread your post and look in a mirror. We are all here to try to help each other. I am sure this thread will get closed soon so I guess you will be blaming me next.

He did not leave. In fact he flamed ME last (and was incorrect in his assumptions). Admins did not allow me to respond. And gentle advice that does not answer the question? Why does it matter if it is gentle, it just adds to a thread that otherwise should have been empty until the people in charge dealt with it. Speaking of which, this was specifically addressed to certain people, not you.
Also, those last jibes were made in such a way to prevent me from responding to them which is cowardly, yes?
Also if your read the Epic4g to Boost Mobile data thread you will see that I solved an issue and posted the answer. It is an unusual problem so perhaps people don't run into it too much but it is still a solved problem, so I try to contribute as well.
AND not only do I 'thank' users but I also donate $ to themer's, ROM'ers etc.
Words of advice ...
Posting a complaint thread about a moderator's actions will most likely result in account infractions or suspension.
I highly recommend you send a PM to another moderator or post in this thread asking for a senior moderator to investigate the actions taken.
As an admin and moderator for many other sites, posting a thread like this is likely to result in even worse punishment than a few remarks. Concerns about moderator or staff actions should be taken up with a higher ranking member in private. As an admin, I would have properly chewed them out over the comments they made in a closed thread when the case was closed. But with this thread being created, I'd more likely ban you and be done with it as it only seeks to cause more harm than good.
In the end, I still agree that he was only trying to point out that you broke the rules. Trolling about it is just a waste of time.
*Sniffs*
Mmm, I can just smell the banwich being prepared for this guy.
Sent from the future.
OP, all you needed to do was change the of that thread, but instead you decided it would be better to start a flame war with me that you should have know that wouldn't end in your favor.
As far as the thread getting close and being left up. I had nothing to do with that. The thread was open for over 3 hours after my last post. Another thing i was doing in your thread was trying to prevent some other user that might not know the rules from replying to you with a link or any info on how to do hat you were asking and earning a ban themselves by trying to help, but breaking the rules.
As far as us being a bunch of 15 year olds, you are way off in that assumption.

Who's the 15 year old?
Enjoy the ban you are sure to get from this thread.
Actually it is more like a 6 year old throwing a tantrum..."I didn't get to flame back" and that is the basis for this whine in the wrong sub-forum no less.
Please delete this useless thread mods.

Damn! Why is this thread still open and not deleted? What a whiny OP. Is he really mad because he didn't get the last word before mods closed the thread because he was too whiny and flaming there too? And then blame the others in the thread because it was taking him 3 hours to come up with an "Oh yeah?" Wow!
Get on the Ban wagon!
In before the lock! lol I always wanted to do that ;-)

When I closed the thread, I made no "snide" remarks. I gave a reason why the thread was being closed. Just like this one.
If you have a problem with a forum moderator, contact the forum admin.
let me be frank. this forum is getting bored lately. a lot of new user has turned this forum into their secondary samsung service centre and repeatedly asked same questions. I don't know what other's feeling but I'm getting tired giving them repeated same answer. when I first came here this forum is a lot more nice and fun. the general section have a lot of information and great discussion about android and our sgy, while all question is placed and answered nicely in FAQ thread. but now, all those usefull information is gone. replaced, and covered by those repeated silly question. please note that I'm not saying that we can't ask question in this forum. sure we can ask any question related our sgy development, but please stop asking any troubleshooting question in general section. you can ask those question on FAQ thread anytime, or you can ask any senior member here via PM. you can even PM me, and I'll sure gladly answer if I can help.
well...please forgive me complaining. I just wanna make this forum as fun and nice as possible to all members. I can't do it by myself. I'll need all your help to keep this forum in order. if you're a new member here, please search and read before ask any question. if you're a senior member, please don't answer any troubleshooting which is not placed on FAQ question. they won't stop asking those question if you continue answer those question.
best regards,
kurotsugi

Yeah. Totally. For about half a year that i'm here, totally got bored. @[email protected] I'm finding no improvements at all.
We need a Q and A section. Posting in the same thread will only make us stay put in the 'Legacy and Low Activity' devices section. There need to be threads opening up every few seconds for us to get outta this rejected low activity section and into the main frame. Only then will there be real development of this device.
I'd have to agree, especially to those porting and creating ROMs that are left/unstable and thus calling themselves devs. I think the whole forum needs a spring cleaning, and when a thread starter has already a negative reputation, I guess that's when Iron Fist should be hammered down.

True ... !!
Even for a simple question newbie opens a new thread
U r right kuroshi
IMO FAQ thread is more than enough for this moment. if there is new section to be created, I think sgy duos development should prioritized first.
anyway, thanks for your support guys. I hope more member will join us soon.
A Duos sub-forum inside ours? Thats gotta help in our development. More threads are proportional to more development to me. Hope there'll be QnA and other version of Galaxy Y's sections soon.
I just saw two new threads
1st about rooting n
2nd about bricking galaxy y
Don't want ics for y
I want Kelly bean
imo separated sub-forum or faq thread is not effective. the problem is a lot of new member too lazy to use search button. even if we have Q&A section, if nobody give them an answer because similar question again and again, they will try to find other place to ask. we already have some people asking in dev section just because they want answer from a dev.
i agree with kurotsugi. if you are a senior member, ignore that kind of question. and if necessarily ask mod to close or delete. if questioner is a newbie, give him/her an advice to do search and ask mod to close that thread. that will be strong message : if you lazy, nobody here will help you.

I was going to report to senior mods but in my phone mode I can't copy threads links it gives me error
And I don't have a PC or laptpp
Can anyone give me link of xda app v2.0.0 so I can report to mods faster
And as I m biggest noob in this field i want to know wat r infractions
Don't want ics for y
I want Kelly bean
yeah.. i have even almost stopped checking the general section.. only check out the development section.
if we assume that all member here are read all the rules and search-read-try before ask any question, FAQ thread or even QA section is not needed. nevertheless, the reality is slightly different. let say, only those the 'more educated' one will do as we assume above. the other new members are usually never read the rules or even use search before post anything. in that case, we still need a FAQ thread to localize those question.
btw, I don't wanna see any harsh things here. not all of us are real devs, most of us here are still considered as newbie (including myself) who want to learn more about android stuff. personally I believe that this forum is not intended only for devs. this is a forum to share, learn, and improve all stuff about android. if you found new member posted those 'junk' question again, just kindly told him to post the question on FAQ thread, or if you don't have time to do that you can simply just ignore it.
Newbies should be responsible to read these 3 most important things

I made our forum little bit clean by pm'ing threads link to mods
My special thanks to everyone in this thread
Keep our forum clean
To keep the section clean, I think admins should:
Close the thread and delete it. If not possible to delete, then we should have a trash bin for those threads.
Also, I agree to have a Q and A section. We all know that almost all of us haven't even seen the FAQ's - count me in.
BTW, I have viewed XDA wiki when I started here.
Hi guys, can someone reply what happened to the phoenix rom as it's been closed 2nd time for violating forum rules. What happened here.
Scribbled from my GT-N7100.
Was wondering the same
This should serve as a warning to everyone.
The dev and another members were arguing politics. XDA is not a place to discuss race, politics, religion or any other subject not related to Smarphones.

But i thougtht that matter was already finished the first time round. After the dev asked the moderator to open the thread it was done so. I am aware of that issue. However why is it closed the 2nd time. Any idea?
I believe it's the same reason. Moderator gave them 2 warnings.
1st was because of a misunderstanding of Tamir asking to close the thread.
2nd is because something with ads and payments.. I didn't really get it.
Anyway, its very sad the thread is closed. I really hope it will be re-opened soon.
I miss this thing... So the whole phoenix rom thread is now locked ? And how long ? Is there any chanche to re-open or end of story?

For now the thread is closed.
I don't know any details about opening it (and definitely no ETA).
Thread is reopened.
Seems that some members are able to have their threads deleted when things don't go their way. I disagree with this. I understand thread cleaning to keep things on topic, but especially when there maybe donations and or sending devices to members, I think thread and post histories help paint a more complete picture of a member's personality and maturity.
Currently, a member has had 2 threads deleted (instead of closed) in the HTC one (verizon) forum.
Maybe I'm the only one who agrees?
Only moderators have the ability to delete threads and we usually close the threads when they are obviously violating our rules. If you want to know the reason of your and only your thread being deleted, contact the local moderator.

Yeah agree with your thought. Thread should be closed rather than delete. Only moderator can delete the thread if they find it unnecessary or annoying.
Can we please keep posts to helping answer questions.
If you dont have a positive possible solution, don't respond within the thread.
Let's keep the forum to what its meant to be.
No Trolling. No Arguing. No Accusations.
Fairly sure we already have a Q&A forum..... and we're already in it
And fairly sure those points are already in the XDA Rules, if you have a problem with someone, hit report and let a mod deal with it, no-one likes a member trying to police other members as if they were staff

Just making this thread to begin with was pointless, and only creates unnecessary clutter in the forum.
Thread closed!
As has been already been mentioned, XDA rules encompass what is expected of it's members. If you see something inappropriate, report it plain and simple, and a member of our ever diligent Moderator Staff will handle it. Thank you for your cooperation, and have a good day.
