Howdy.
My HOX is rooted, S-OFF and everything nice, but everytime I try to flash a new ROM, I get an errormessage containing the words android.phone.com not working or something like that. The phone reboots just fine with the ROM, but this message keeps coming up every 2 seconds. Anybody knows what it can be? I have the team win recovery installed.
cheers and thanks
Even if you have s-off... many roms here don't have the script to flash the boot.img from the recovery!
So flash the boot.img via fastboot just to make sure! and don't forget to 'fastboot erase cache'
Also wipe cache/dalvic and reboot!

which one?
where to get?
hope it works
thx
You can find it inside the zip file which you're going to flash.
1. Flash CWM recovery. Enter it.
2. Do a full wipe -> clear cache -> clear dalvik.
3. Flash boot (fastboot flash boot boot.img)
4. Flash the stock recovery.
5. Enter hboot and click fastory reset.
Good luck.
Everything was fine until I flashed CM9. Now I can not boot into recovery.
Recovery loads and I can see it for a moment and then phone reboots.
Tried CWM and TWRP, tried boot into recovery from CM9 reboot menu - same there.
Any suggestion?
PS. Downloading 401.9 RUU now...
Try "fastboot erase cache" after flash the recovery.

Thanks, man! That works.
That's strange because I already erased cache before flashing CM9...
Hi Guys,
first off all, i wanted to let you know, that i come from GER, so excuse me for my english.
I tried to Update my CWM to Ver. 5.8.4.0 with the help of this Guide: http://www.guidingtech.com/12839/update-clockworkmod-touch-recovery-htc-one-x/
At the time, when i updated to the newest CWM-Version, i had the Stock-Rom (UNLOCKED) on my HOX.
But unfortunaley after that, it is now in the Recovery-Loop.
Here the things i already tried by myself:
- tried to restore some of my Back-Up's (with Nandroid), but even that didnt help.
- Factory Reset, WIPE (Data, Cache, Dalvik, Partition)
- flashing TRWP, but even after that, the Window with CWM 5.8.4.0 appears. (SOURCE: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32667591&postcount=8)
- flashing Stock-Rom, guess what?
Sometimes, when i try to "Factory Reset", it shows CWM with a Versionumber of 5.8.1.8, and after "reboot system now" it comes again with 5.8.4.0?!
My whole SD-Card is empty, after the whole trys of resets and wipes, i can see it with mounting through CWM.
So im hoping, that some of u guys can help me.

What's your hboot version ? And you are sure you have the endeavoru type HTC one x ? And when restoring the nandroid, did u also flashed the boot.img with fastboot commands ?
Flash the cwm custom recovery again.
Fastboot flash recovery name of recovery.img
Fastboot erase cache
Copy the desired rom within recovery to your phone and copy the boot.img from the rom to the fastboot folder on pc
Go in to bootloader .... Fastboot USB menu
Fastboot erase cache
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot erase cache
Go into recovery and wipe EVERYTHING EXCEPT SDCARD
Flash the rom.zip

ENDEAVORU PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT: 1.12.0000
RADIO: 2.1204.135.20
should i take again the newest version or just one older of CWM?
About the rom, should it be a custom or stock? Or doesnt matter?
Which custom rom would you take? Cause i dont have the nerves, to change the HBoot or Kernels...
First things first ... What is your hboot version ? And what does your bootloader say ....endeavoru ???
It's on top of the bootloader looking like this
UNLOCKED
ENDEAVORU S-ON etc etc
And ofcourse the newest one. You can not mount sd card in the older ones

Well I don't have to lie ...I'm a big fan of the viper x. Just try it , your phone is already empty so why not
You can flash any sense ICS rom from here but no JB rom. Only the aosp jb roms will boot.

It works now...unbeliavible.
I just flashed the boot_signed.img from the Stock-Rom, and now all works fine.
But its really strange, that u need to flash the boot.img, even when u are on Stock-Rom.
Well, i learned something new today. xD
- Shinsou89
Good !
Maybe something messed up flashing the recovery before
And everytime you flash a new rom you also have to flash the boot.img from that rom.
After flashing the latest ICJ 2.5.1 I suddenly cannot boot to recovery. I've never had this problem before. The rom itself works good, so does the bootloader. Though everytime I try to boot into recovery it flashes the CWM- or TWRP-screen for a short while and then just reboots itself.
I've obviously tried to flash both CWM and TWRP but the results are the same. The flashing seems to work, but when trying to boot into recovery just makes it reboot iself.
Any ideas?
ICJ 2.5.1
TWRP 2.4.3.0 and 2.4.0.0
CWM 5.8.4.0
hboot 1.39
Thanks in advance.

Fastboot erase cache
Try again to enter

Wow, I can't believe it was this simple. From now on I'll always use the fastboot erase cache, not only when flashing boot.img's.
Thank you for your fast respone, I really do appreciate it!
i have rooted my htc one x
every time when i tries to install any custom rom into it and when i boot first time one error continuously shows "unfortunately com.android.phone stopped" i have also tried to reboot it again but the same problem remains
i have tried cm 10.1 RC5 and jellybam stable and many more roms , but the same problem remains always ..
help me plz
Are you sure you flashed the boot image and wiped everything properly (as described in most ROM's threads)?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
that problem will mostly occur if you are installling a rom in unclean way..
make sure you do superwipe and before flashing rom flash its boot.img and do- "fastboot erase cache" afterwards
then flash it from recovery

most of the people here know the procedures. give us information that will help you solve the problem. like is your phone already rooted. the steps you do when flashing. like what did you really do before that error appears. something like that.

yes my phone is already rooted . i have also taken the backup of m stock rom . i have tried to install custom rom for 3 to 4 times but every time when i installs custom rom and when i boot it the above problem occurs so i restore my system with the backup , and that original stock rom is working fine
for flashing i have followed this :
1) unlocked bootloader
2) rooted it
3) installed clockwork recovery mode
4) now transfer the custom rom into the internal memory
5) reboot phone into bootloader mode
6) select "recovery"
7) wipe data/factory reset
8) wipe cache partitions
9) wipe dalvik cache
10) install zip from sd card-->choose zip from sd card-->select the rom
11) select yes
12) after installing the rom reboot the phone
and when the phone will rebooted the problem occures when the ui of new rom appears

you do not need to root, flash custom recovery and unlock the bootloader everytime.
you did not flash the rom's boot.img. everytime you flash rom or kernel dont forget to flash boot.img. place the rom's boot.img inside your fastboot folder. then do the command:
fastboot erase cache.
fastboot flash boot boot.img.
then reboot.

yeah. you still have to that. extract the boot.img from the rom. place the boot.img inside your fastboot folder. boot your phone into bootloader. it you see fastboot usb you can now flash the boot.img.
open command prompt. navigate to your fastboot folder or you can just right click on the fastboot folder and select "enter comman prompt here" something like that. then enter this commands.
fastboot erase cache
fastboot flash boot boot.img
that's two different command.

it does'nt matter it you flash boot.img before of after. but me i always flash boot.img first. because if you flash the rom first. you'll boot your phone to recovery then after you flash rom you'll boot to bootloader, where you will press power button + vol down. while if you flash boot.img first. after that just go to hboot then select recovery then flash rom. well that's just me. hehe.
