N7100DDDLK6 (BASEBAND VERSION)
3.0.31-1071214 (Kernel version)

Well Baseband version isn't the firmware one but I think you could first try to update your system via OTA or Odin.

[Q] Phone Software Version / File System Version

Hey
When I enter the service menu, and check software info, it says for Phone Software Version: 1246-7916_4.1.B.0.431
For the file system version it says: World-i_4.1.B.0.587
Do I have to update the phone software version now, because the phone is running fine? Or is it oke this way?
Thanks a lot

[Q] Can't update Galaxy Note 2 via Kies

Hi,
I tried updating my GT-N7100 device using kies but I get the following message:
"your device's current firmware version is not supported to update firmware via kies"
My device is not rooted nor I wish it to be (at least not for now) and I am using the stock ROM.
My current firmware version is:
PDA: MB2 / PHONE: LK7 / CSC: MA2 (XXX).
I have read that I need to chacge my CSC to match my PDA but I don't know which CSC to choose,
and I dislike the idea of factory reset to my phone.
Any advice ?
Thanks,
Aviad

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply.
I don't have any EFS backup (or any other backup) that I know of.
I tried to check with "check fus" app but I saw the following message -
!! This tool no longer work due to changes from Samsung. A solution is being worked on! !!
Thanks,
Aviad

How do I do it with Odin?
What version of Odin should I use?
Is there no other way to match the codes?
I've found that by pressing *#1234# in my phone I get the following data:
AP: N7100XXDMB2
CP: N7100XXDLK7
CSC: N7100DTMDMA2
Can this help me?

[Q] NOTE 2 LTE with wrong build number

Hi
Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a UK orange mobile galaxy NOTE 2 LTE N7105.
I want to root it, but use a stock ROM for now.
When I looked for the CF autoroot download files, I found a problem.
My build number is KOT49H.N7100XXUFNI1 , which seems to be for a N7100. I think this maybe because it got an OTA update while i was in India.
Now my questions are -
1. Which CF auto root file should I use the one that matches my actual device or the build number itself?
CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip
for the N7100 but matches my build number
or
CF-Auto-Root-t0lte-t0ltexx-gtn7105.zip
for N7105(my phone) but does not match my build number
2. If I don't unlock the bootloader(i asume it is locked as I have not tried to unlock it) , will it wipe my data? and if so, how do I unlock my bootloader in the simplest way first?
Thanks
N710x don't have locked bbotloader.
As your device has got that OTA and seems to work for you, I am convinced you have an N7100, otherwise you would have lost wifi and ability to make calls because of wrong baseband.

Hi. Thanks for the quick reply.
I am not experienced with any of this. I am not sure if the bootloader is locked. I was asking just because on the CF website it mentioned this. This is not related the the first query I amde about the build number discrepancy.
I got the OTA when in India - I am not sure if this makes a difference. My device as the LTE sign on the back of the casing. And my phone has a 4g connect mode in the mobile networks tab in settings.
In the "about device" section it states my model as GT-N7105. And it states the 7105 model on the box I received from orange.
My baseband version is N7105BVUFNE1 and the SE for android status - enforcing SEPF_GT-N7105_4.4.2_0040.
Any thoughts?
OK, now it is clear that you have LTE N7105.
I suggest to flash stock firmware for your region from HERE through Odin and then TWRP from HERE.
I suppose you are going to flash a custom rom so no need to root your device.

What is TWRP?
I assume that the firmware I must pick is for a N7105?
I wanted to root but use a stock ROM - I was mainly worried about custom ROMS not having updates for security related issues as I use banking apps. Is it safer to root and use a stock ROM?

I have linked to N7105 firmware in my last post.
Forget about TWRP and go for CF-autoroot for your LTE device after firmware flash.
Custom roms aren't unsafe but you got to find out yourself and it is your decicion where to go :good:

Sorry - not sure if I am being dumb here.
But...
On the Sammobile website link you posted the firmware for my device is correct.
"United Kingdom (EE) 4.4.2 N7105XXUFNI2 " This is what shows in my device information.
But on the ChainFire page this build number does not correspond to the LTE version N7105 cfautoroot file.
See the details from the table on the chain fire website please.
"GT-N7100 t03gxx t03g smdk4x12 exynos4 KOT49H.N7100XXUFNI1 4.4.2"
"GT-N7105 t0ltexx t0lte smdk4x12 exynos4 KOT49H.N7105XXUFNH1 4.4.2"
So, if my build number is N7100XXUFNI1 but my phone is the LTE version - which cfautoroot file must I flash?
Hi Sorry did my previous post and question go through?

PDA Version N900TUVSFPL1
CSC Version N900TTMBFPL1
PHONE Version N900TUVSFPL1
Region TMB
Country USA (T-Mobile)

Changelist 6005498
OS Lollipop
OS Version 5.0
If anyone tried using CF-root successfully, leave a confirmation below.
I'm interested too if anyone flashes please report back asap. Doesn't seem like much seeing as the rom is still 5.0 not 5.1 or 6 so more than likely its just 300 mb of "security updates".
Just an update: the new PL1 firmware can be rooted by CF-auto-root.
One more update: the android security patch level is still 2016-09-01, the same as the SPH3 firmware. Don't know why they say this is an "android security update"in the description.
I thought the android security patch level should be 2016-12-01 since it was built on 2016-12-12.
i couldnt ge the cf-root to work on mine. it says theres a dev error. is there a newer version to use?

I did that 3times and it keeps giving me the same error message. I think I'm using the wrong tar file. I'm using the one for n900TTMBFOB6. Is there a different one for N900TTMBFPL1?

Should be the same.
I downloaded here:https://download.chainfire.eu/354/CF-Root
Unzip the file and Odin flash the tar.md5 file only, not the zip file.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH IT WORKED PERFECTLY. It must have been the file i downloaded from before.

Hi guys..
I have upgraded to the N900TUVSFPL1 update.. but I noticed the baseband still says N900TUVSFPH3 and the Android Security Patch Level says 2016-09-01... is this normal?
the Build number does say N900TUVSFPL1.

I think that you have to power off the phone and boot into download mode from the power off state. Otherwise, the bootloader and baseband won't update.

Right.. but it makes a difference if you reboot into download mode (while the phone's still on) or have the phone turned off and then boot directly into download mode (volume-down + home + power).

Yes.. I had to do that in order to re-root using CF-Root and also to flash the recovery.
Is this ROM based on Android 5.1.1 like others are speculating? If this is just 5.0, I'm saying "Screw Touchwiz", and staying on my AOSP Nougat...

Is it possible to take only the most update modem (CP) from this?
I am looking to flash the latest modem for Tmo US Note 3.
Maybe flashing via Odin in the CP button?

FlashFIre. Many older posts talk MOP, TWRP, etc. At least with this hardware and firmware, FlashFire is all I use. (Much gratitude to Chainfire.)

Code:
# Install Heimdall and print pit
sudo apt install heimdall
heimdall detect
heimdall print-pit --no-reboot > pit.txt
# Extract binaries from firmware package
head -z -n -1 N900TUVSFPL1_N900TTMBFPL1_N900TUVSFPL1_HOME.tar.md5 > N900TUVSFPL1_N900TTMBFPL1_N900TUVSFPL1_HOME.tar
tar -xvf N900TUVSFPL1_N900TTMBFPL1_N900TUVSFPL1_HOME.tar
Lastly, review the pit file and pick the partitions/files you want to flash. Use the tool you're most comfortable with to do the job.
Many posts refer to the necessity of bootloaders and modems being compatible. So I have not (and would not) flash just the modem. Er, that is unless someone else already did it and reported success.
(PS. Wish *I* could walk out my door and do the Haiku Stairs, a bucket list item.)
