That
Im on Xperia Arc S GB 2.3.7 and Doomkernel v22, but i want to try the lupus one. But i dont know if i can flash the new kernel without have to flash all over again the ROM.
Same with the basebands, can i change them without flash a new ROM?

yes my friend you can, but the better thing to do always it's to wipe all and install the ROM again...
but you can change the kernel

Thanks
Well... i'm going to wipe dalvik and the battery stats before and after flash the kernel. And also make a nandroid backup.
But what is the worse case scenario that i dont make a full wipe and reinstall the rom?
Bootloops? Lags? Reboots?

LuPuS is not meant for GB ROMs, if I am not mistaken.
And yes, you can switch kernels and basebands without touching the ROM.

Nope... It's compatible with gb as well..

There is a GB lupus but it has to be searched for, its pretty down the dev section
Sent from my X10i using xda premium

Actually the developer merged both ics and gb kernels into the same. And yes it works!!
But, i don't know if not making a full wipe and reintalling the ROM again but, i have some problems with the camera... it cannot have access to the sd card; after rebooting "it solved" but the videos cannot be played and the gallery has no elements
The camera is one of the things that i used the most, so i have to reflash the doomkernel again which is pretty good but i have to try the lupus one 'cause is in a more constant development.
Thanks

NO the ICS/GB lupus has stopped Dev i think

Best ROM for ARC S

Thank you..

Acronium 7.1
Its the best ROM I have used for ARC, I have ARC not ARC S, still its smooth and best GB ROM
But which one?
I guess he wants to know the name of the ROM
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
i am using Acronium 7.1 , Battery drains very quickly,
I use data 2G all time.
Same here...now using arconium 7.2 w/ doomkernel v19 baseband 58...drains batt quickly T_T
I tried them all,ics beta,team,arconium,miui etc.
Stock rom .62 with root/removed bloatware/doom v19 is still for me the best.
A bit undervolting and stockspeeds [ 1.4 Ghz Arc s ]
All other roms draining with 3g.
No issues with wathever, good batterylife etc etc.
I'm using the ROM of SE.Tweaked (v1.0), works fine and smooth. No issues and good battery life, much better than the original rom.

Arconium 7.2 is simply a beautiful rom for arc/arc s.
For the people with battery problem..flash the stock .283 kernel along with .36/.64 baseband.
With this config,i need to charge my phone for once in two days [full charge]
I alsoi have superchargerV6 and link2sd for lag-free performance and free internal memory
Disadvantages:
This kernel doesnt support overclocking/undervolting and many other features which doomkernel possesses
I think there's a DooMKernel on .283

Yes it does.. v11
But i haven't tried that.
Seconded stock with doomkernel is best for me. Don’t see any differences between stock, arconium or se tweaked so dont see the point of them. As for the other roms something always seems to be broken or other problems such as battery drain issues and other bugs.

no,i install at original rom...
I understand that u flash dixperia on stock rom and now u have stock kernel.
I think that u should try a custom kernel and i give u example - doomkernel, which is recommended by them too
Sent using r800i with DoomKernel v10 (1.21ghz)
Dixperia ROM has built in DOOM modules...therefore wont work with stock kernel....either you flash the stock wifi modules which u can find at the doom kernel post...or use the doom kernel...not sure...but try...
Wi-Fi should work on Stock Kernel too, but please try to apply DooMKernel with Wi-Fi fix and reply back how's going after this .

[Q] Best rom + kernel?

What's currently the best combination, stable, fast, no bugs?
And is there a good bug free ics rom out there? I'd like to give it a try.
Thanks in advance
I unlocked bootloader today, and I'm on .58 fw version, 2.3.4
I have: Stock Rom 2.3.4 + DoomLoRD's Kernel.
Full touchpad support and fast without bloatware.

Any idea what changes were from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
Advanced Stock and Darkforest ICS.
Unless you want to game correctly/heavily.
Then id suggest staying where you are.

That's basically my predicament. I really enjoyed ICS and pax's modified kernel, but you can't play PSXperia games on ICS. Back to stock ROM I went...
on my opinion , use 2.3.4 + sony's default kernel + some tweaks
as i experienced (( i've checked all kernels )) , all kernels have some bugs , just sony'y default kernel is #1 .
but you can try , if you want

And for best ROMs, I prefer CM9 by FXP. Touchpads work like they should (at least in Minecraft).

Search around the development forum, I think there's a tread with the links for all versions of stock ftfs

I second this.
I use JokaWild v2.5 w/ v13 Doomkernel. It is super fast.

[Q] Noobish question about flashing ICS

So the new ICS .ftf is out now.
What I want to know is the next:
After flashing ICS 4.0.4, can I still go back to Gingerbread with the respective .ftf file and Flashtool? Or once updated, it can't go back?
Also, would I be able to use Custom ROMs like CM 7.2 or CM 9 while on ICS?
Thanks in advance.
up up up up up up up
You can go back but you may have issues, if say you had gb2.3.4 build .42 THEN YOU WiLL NEED TO FLASH .62 THEN GO BACK TO .42.
I don't recommend going from ics 4.0.3/4.0.4 then 2.3.4 .42 without .62.
As all cases the risk is there.
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium
I had build .58, but in any case, I can tell that as well I would have to go to .62 then to .58.
At least there is a way.
Anyways, I'm really ok with custom ROMs and Kernels, I haven't seen any reason why to move to ICS, just wanted to know.

[Q] Miui on Xperia Arc LT15i

Hi all,
I have eased MiUi roms earlier on GB and ICS. Even a few days back I have used diff versions of MiUi V5 as well but switched to another roms in due course. Now I am trying to switch back to MiUi but i am not able to flash it.
I am doing the following:
1) Since I am on other custom roms,I will flash .587 LT15I ftf pack.Boot it, set it up, wait for a while to let thing settle up.
2) Flash the 3.4.X Kernel or Fusion 5.5 Kernel
3) Flash the MiUi V5 3.8.16 or 3.8.30 Rom.
All goes well with the installation and after rebooting, the phone is stopping at Miui Screen ( the Black PDA Team screen on the Max works roms).
I waited for quite sometime hoping it will enter the settings screen but no luck.
Any idea where I am missing?

As he said, flash LT18i FTF file instead of LT15i FTF. Arc and Arc S have slightly different partition layouts, first being the cause for some problems.

Done that too earlier..I could flash the rom and everything works fine for sometime and then it starts hanging, mostly after 3-4 hrs. The screen takes a lot of time to respond.Apps will not respond fast. This was not the case earlier. This problem I have noticed after using the KitKat roms but not sure if that can be any reason.
Any suggestions, on the best way and the the best version of MiUi V5 I can use? I love MiUi.

Firstly, don't ask for the "best version of MIUI".
Secondly, there's only one MIUI port based off CM10 here which can be found in the developer forums.
