Not one to post up live wallpapers but this is pretty dang cool.. Its called "Pixel Fleet" and its basically little pixel ships in space battling it out and can also be set to Daydream on Android 4.2+
No lag whatsoever on CM 10.1
Search Play Store for Pixel Fleet, free and paid version $99C

Hi,
I recently bought Galaxy Nexus and installed couple of Live Wallpapers.
I noticed extreme lag after setting wallpapers. The transition fps from page to page is drastically dropped.
Live Wallpapers tested with....
1. Fresh Leaves
2. Luma Live wallpaper
3. Deap Sea and Luminous dots (Galaxy S III - Apps downloaded from this forum.)
Does anyone has this problem? Is there any defect on ICS 4.0.4?
same here, seems like phase beam is the only one that's smooth
Why is this in themes and apps and not in questions and answers? This is a question.... and you eve checked the "is this a question" box....

I was always having that problem too, even in 4.0.2 :/ im android 4.0.4 right now

Those LW are probably not hardware optimized.

Well i got lag even with stock LWs , the only one smooth is Phase Been...

It's a known bug. Phase beam is the only one that is optimized for the Galaxy Nexus.

If you disable wallpaper scrolling it would decrease the lag.. Most Roms have that option.. And launchers.

It all depends on the live wallpaper. Even stock ones aren't optimized. Confounds me why Google would put live wallpapers on a phone that lag. Anyway look through the market. There are tons of nice ones that have 0 lag and are butter smooth.

Rays of light and Vortex galaxy are my 2 favorite.

Ahmato's suggested solution has been working for me for weeks. Just disable wallpaper scrolling.
Sent from the future.
I can confirm that turning off wallpaper scrolling makes no noticeable difference.
I really wish that google would address this issue.
I said this before in another thread. What I noticed is that the phone puts the lwp before the launcher. As the launcher lags the lwp stays the same. When comparing to my ns4g I noticed its reversed If the lwp is to much for the phone the lwp lags and not such the launcher.

Both seem to lag on mine. Even with things turned off...
Edit: dumbed down vortex galaxy enough to make it smooth... I'm loving it.

I can confirm that it does. Holo spiral and nexus revamped has always lagged until I disabled wallpaper scrolling in apex launcher.
For example, phase beam doesn't move around when scrolling, does it?
Not trying to start some pointless argument, just pointing out that it does work for many.

I got away from it. Huge lack of new designs and problems with widgets displaying properly.

They should be called beautifully dated widgets...
And what would be the modern beautiful widgets?

Yep...HD widgets is the way to go.
Got it on sale recently and it is excellent. The customisation options go real deep. Some beautiful clocks and weather options.
I don't use any other clock or weather widget on any of my devices anymore now.

Even Fancy Widgets is better than Beautiful Widgets
Ditto. Bought it because I had read so many good comments about it in the past, but I was kind of disappointed in it. Back to "Make Your Clock" where you just roll your own from scratch.
I've had this one for a while and like it quite a bit. Pretty broad selection of themes, though as others have said, it has been a while since much new material has been added. Never had any significant problems with it in terms of functionality, either with my Evo or my GNex.

I don't have any problems with Beautiful Widgets. I personally don't like HD Widgets as I find their widgets aren't are as nice.
What does everyone use for launchers? Any one have a good minimalistic theme? I'm running xylon11
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Only "stock" launcher I use on GNex
I really really like nova. I know some have mixed opinions about it but it serves Me well. Also I just started making custom wallpapers for xylon . I go pretty minimal. One screen and folders with circle click widget and Bob click and nice wallpaper. That's about all I can say on that topic.

I use Nova Launcher Prime. the customization level is very high and I like a lot the gesture function toghether with the ROM actions ..
Maybe the negative thing is the ram occupation.
I'm using silky smooth Xperia launcher. But usually ADW Ex. It is amazing. He just updated maybe 2 months ago. Very tablety.

Didn't see anything in our forum about this launcher. Check it out. In my opinion blows every launcher out the water, theme wise, and it's only in beta stage

Great Find!!
Thanks sick launcher
Sg3 4.2.2 protected by UAG case .....
Thanks for the heads up man. Very cool launcher. Anyone figure out how to add additional screens though? Most themes only come with 1 or 2 screens and I like more than that for my widgets.
I just found this launcher today. Still figuring it out. But I think it is using quite a bit if memory. Pretty cool easy theming though without relying on uccw. I did add screens but it was by accident so I do know it is possible.

Very good launcher I would say it beats all launchers out there but it eats 144 of ram on my note 2! So I can't imagine what it would do to devices with less than 2 gigs of ram! Anybody having same issues????
Still is very powerful and living it so far!

If you bring up the launcher settings, click on upload. That will bring up a "normal" home screen manager" that also lets you upload your homescreen
Hi (EG4T?) community, I like to share possibility the best launcher out there, especially the features it has and the price point.... FREE. Solo Launcher basically has all the features of Apex and Nova Pro but it improves on some of them.

Thanks again for pointing this out, bro.
Can it handle large grid sizes like Nova (>10 x 10)? Also, wondering if you can overlap widgets, and have the option to have the dock as overlay. Those are must haves on my list. I couldn't tell from the vid.
Looks like I might have hijacked your posts. Let me know if you want me to move this and delete the original.

They openly take requests in the app reviews (or I think you can email the dev), but I don't think its in there for the most part.
As for the grid size....
Edit: they do have dock as overlay option, but they don't have overlapping widgets yet
Nice. With all the apps I buy, it'll be nice to see a free one do the job well.
Edit: Is that green, beveled border in the screenshot integrated in the launcher, or is that the glass mod from jellyverse? If the latter, that's a huge plus, as it does not work with Apex or Nova. If the former, then that's just frickin awesome.
