Note 2 unlocking and roms - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello everyone. I haven't used a custom rom over 6 months and I have few questions.
I have this rom called tweaked 1.4 I don't remember downloading it but that's what I'm using right now. Any new roms that you guys can recommend to me?
And my rom is 4.1.1 and I used the unlock method to unlock my phone and it's unlock. If I get a rom that 4.1.2 would I lose my unlock?
Thanks for any replys

Im running jedi x 13 rom which is a 4.1.2 rom and my phone stayed unlocked. The only problem I have with it is when using other sims in my phone I wont get a 4g lte signal for data. Thats no biggie for me though. Hope this helps.

I've been using CM for years on several phones and am very pleased with the speed, features, and stability.

Help needed after much searching

Hey Guys,
New to the Note II, and have been searching and searching, and have a few questions, as I really want to get started and use my phone. Have spent hours trying to search.
1- Is the bootloader unlocked from factory?
2- Can I debrand the phone or flash a "stock" samsung firmware without any of tmobile restrictions and apps? Please guide me on where to find the stock samsung build that takes out all tmobile stuff.
3- I heard tethering doesn't work if I use a non-tmobile SIM. Is that true?
Thanks for all the help!
Yes the bootloader is unlocked and the rom im using jedi x8 which is based off of the international one...so I im pretty sure all you do is flash the tmobile radio

[Q] Question about firmware

Hi, this is my first post here and I've done some searching and I've got confused with the firmware names between stock and original.
Currently I have a T-mobile 4.1.1 baseband T889UVALL4 with T-mobile firmware.
What I am trying to understand and do is change from t-mobile firmware as it has t-mobile apps to a samsung firmware and their apps /non t-mobile apps.
Is this something possible? Where can I find these firmwares and what is the latest version?
Thanks & regards
First off welcome..Why dont u give tweaked a try. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2242972 Its the only rom I use on my phone.. You have the ability on install to choose the amount of bloat u want and it's super customizable....... as for the international roms be mindful they don't have wifi calling

Look up teshxx in the development section he has stock samsung roms. Keep scrolling the different roms til you find the latest updated one, cause he have quite a few posted. If you ever want to try a custom rom, try Jedi x14 by ptmr3 which is great.

What is the difference between factory and stock image?
Ive seen the topic where it has all images for t889 but I cannot distinguish what are those.
If I want to have a samsung only firmware on my t889 , what king of file should I be looking for?
Tks
Anyone? Any place I should look?
Tks

Factory and stock should be the same just wording. What are you looking for ? Do u want a rooted stock rom. If so downloaded teshxx deodexed
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2102380. Like I said before if you want a rooted stable customizable (without flashing anything else) try tweaked

Hi, thanks for your help. What I am looking for is remove anything related to T-MOBILE from my phone, so it looks like the Samsung Firmware without T-Mobile apps, in order words, to look like the international Samsung Galaxy Note 2, unbranded.
How can I do this? What is odexed/deodexed btw?
Tks

Hi deeznutz1977 thanks for your help.
From what I could read, a ROM is something you put on top of the firmware.
Is there anyway to put a Samsung firmware from scratch without those T-Mobile brand on the SGH-T889?
So it would be a brand new firmware, no ROMS or t-mobile apps.
Thanks for you help and patience.
Best Regards

[Q] Unlocking this phone

Hey guys, I was wondering if I could unlock this phone on my own?
I'm currently on CM, but I can't seem to go into the secret menus on these AOSP roms..
So I'm about to flash "Echoe ROM" Which is a TouchWiz rom..
My question is, can I unlock the phone using that rom or do I need to go back to stock?
(I don't really want to use the stock rom, because i see stuff about odin, and I don't like using that application.)
I'm currently doing a backup of my CM rom right now, so please help me out.
Thanks in advanced to everyone!
Any touchwiz ROM should be fine

thank you for the quick reply!
It would be easier to use the Chainfire region unlock method first.
I used it and it worked, where multiple unlock codes from samsung and t-mobile would not work on my rooted stock phone... even when I un-rooted it!
Good luck!
search for the "unlock without using secret hidden codes xda" using google
Aloha!

[Q] Rom update without begin locked

Dear Experts,
I have T-Mobile Note II T889 rooted with Clear ROM 5.0 and android version 4.1.2. I have my phone SIM free so I can use any other SIM than T-Mobile. I need your help in updating my ROM to 4.3.x without losing unlock feature in addition to rooted ROM and minimal customization i.e. the same experience as stock ROM that has high stability and high maturity. what is the best ROM for that? . Does N7105 stock ROM work for me?
Thanks for Help
Phone unlock is permanent(one way process). You do not have to worry about it.

a) If you are 4.3 bootloader you can flash this MrRobinson's ROM
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760975435
b) If you are 4.1.2 bootloader you can flash this ROM, download link on post#1
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2636552
If you want to stay stock then you may not flash any other ROM's but if you wnt any custom ROM's then just read few posts in development forums and see which ROM suits your need.

Ok finally a question about teh phone I am using and not the bricked one :)

Its T Mobile Samsung SGH-M191 running Android 4.3, can I download a rom from ether Android development or original android development and flash a 4.4.2 rom on it?
The know app is gone, the custom rom counter is still there,
I flashed CWM recovery on rooting and am running WIcked V10 currently
Region unlocked, but not sim unlocked

Yes you can. If you are rooted you can flash any Knox free ROM. That includes 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4 ROM. I'm currently on Insane KitKat its a great ROM.

Thank you this s4 rooting is easy enough but the ROMs are kinda different than the s3s were to me, or maybe its because when I had the s3 I only ran TPR.

You mean TWRP?I was a long time user of the S3 myself. I've stayed away from Aosp because for some reason it breaks functions when I go back to Touchwiz. It did very well for me when I used HTC devices but not Samsung.

No I meant TPR as in a ROM called The Peoples ROM, my GS3 was on Sprint and being new to rooting anything that advanced TPR was the closest to stock with no sprint bloat ware in it,
I have since learned how to add and remove what I want to make a ROM customized to my personal needs and wants. Is, I like adding Kii keyboard into a ROM before flashing, since I love it so much I bought it
