what are my options for unlocking a rooted GS3 SGH-i747 (rogers) currently running CM10.1 RC2?
I have tried some of the unlocking apps that you can download from play but none have worked due to not supporting the GS3.
I read that you have to restore to the factory original using kies and then unlock either with a code from the carrier or one bought online? Is this right?
Is there anyway to unlock the phone with RC2 installed?

None.
Only option to unlock the phone with the methods here on xda is to go back to stock 4.1 and do it
Search for the "free unlock threads" there is about three if them.

As stated, you have to be on a tw based Rom to utilize the free unlock info. Or just call att and ask for the code.

Me thinks flashing an international ROM on your AT&T phone is bad idea.... But I no expert.
Flashing an international ROM will cause you a bad day. The kind of bad day that requires jtag
Unlocked phone means unlocked sim use ..NOT any rom use...

i dont know if i am in right place to ask this i have been using at&t galaxy s 3 and i want to flash t mobile galaxy s 3 firmware in my att galaxy s 3 is that possible with out breaking the device . hope to get the answer.thanks
There was a thread here saying that he's flashed a T-Mobile SGS3 ROM and it worked.

Yes it'll work. There are a few different kernels in the development/original development threads that will work with both att and tmo ROMs. Make a backup first just in case something goes wrong and restore it if all else fails.

like with the s2, i rooted it and then I install the app galaxy s unlock

Galaxy S Unlock presently only operates on the international S III (the i9300).
Reportedly, the method detailed here will work for the i747m (i.e. the Canadian model) if you have a new enough baseband - for Canadian models this would be the one that's included with the just-released Jelly Bean update.

leaving for the philippines next wednesday and would like to sim-unlock my SGS3 for use overseas. i've been on CM9/10...since i got my phone...so i'll need to go through the motions to get it unlocked. would it just be a matter of wiping/flashing stock ROM/unlocking - then wiping/flashing CM10 to get back to where i am? if so, can anyone point me in the direction as to which stock ROM i should download to achieve this?
