this should be in QA section i believe.
if you are on MDL firmware, motochopper will not work. please search the General section for "root May 7". the May 7 was the MDL ota update. thread is by mattlgroff.
edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2268880
alternatively, he tweaked the new kernel, as well. and there's Faux kernel in Original Android Dev section... quite a few options.

Should i fix?

Currently, im running FD18 from way back when. Im on this because when i go into odin to try and go back to EL29, odin sends a message that is in like a chinese style language. When i click ok, the program auto closes.
Ive tried on multiple computers. Am i stuck or is there a way to at least get back to EL29 or to get the latest OTA?

Not enough info. What kernel you on? Safe recovery? Try flashing rom from recovery or updating kernel then flashing.
FD24 kernel.

You have an out dated, over seas version of Odin. Go to the dev section and in the sticky threads there are two posts .by sfhub. Find the version you are looking for in the Odin one click thread. Then go to the autoe4gt thread and download the auto root tool to obtain cwm. Read the entire OP in both threads. If you have any questions, pm me.

You need to extract Odin and Odin.ini from the zip first. It's looking for the ini file that it can't find, which is why you're getting the popup that you're getting.

Problems updating SU binary to 3.1.1

While attempting to do a binary update in Superuser v3.1.3 I'm getting an install fail as seen in attached screenshot. I re-installed using the superuser-3.0.7-efghi-signed.zip from the XDA rooting guide by Teo32 but the update still fails in the app. I have even tried installing busy boxat recommended in other posts but it still will not update.
Is there a way to manually update the binary?
Thanks all.

I had this problem. If you did a nandroid backup restore, it may have been a bug. you may have to reflash a clean rom..

It was a clean ROM install too start with, unless there its a problem with the ROM itself (Koodo 4.0.4 v4).

Never tried that rom. I had that problem while running Dark side and fixed it by relashing and/or relashing a super user.zip. what recovery are you on? my problem comes from cwm.

Force stop and clear data.

Caboose, I'm running CWM recovery 5.0.2.7, I don't know what relashing is (time for me to google I guess) but I reinstalled superuser via CWM.
Krzysiek, I tried what you suggested but no luck.

improper root of Note 2 N7100 (International GSM)

Dear All, I am using the samsung note 2 GT-N7100 International Version.
Before Update
Baseband Version
N7100DXDLK5
Build Number
JZO54K.N7100XXDMB4
After Update
Baseband Version
N7100DXDLK5
Build Number
JZO54K.N7100XXDMC3
before update i was rooted without problems with busybox installed.
i rooted using ODIN and using this md5 file CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.tar.md5
after i updated of course i lost my root and device status was changed to "normal"
however, when i tried to root the same way using the same file, i thought everything was fine. the device status is changed to modified.
also, titanium backup is still able to perform its weekly backup schedule.
however, when i use "checkroot" it says my device is not rooted. before update it will tell me it is rooted.
anyone can shed some light?
If other applications which needs root are working fine then 'checkroot' may seeking for busybox, which won't be available if you have rooted with cf auto root method. Titanium using its own busybox.

SuperSU is available in application drawer ?
If not download from market. Just to say, it seems you are using market version of busybox then sometime it mess up device. if you need busybox then flash using CWM.
Super su not installed. Should I install it? Or remove busybox first?

First install supersu from market, then it should work.
Report back if doesn't work.

Rooted BUT apps detect that i am NOT.

Okay my problem is that some Apps detect that i am not rooted ( when i am actually ).
I used CF Auto Root -->> Installed TWRP with GooManager -- >> Flashed Infamous S4 -->> Customized my SGS4 with 3Minit & Nottach Xposed. If i wasnt rooted i wouldnt be able to even use TWRP/ 3Minit / Nottach right ?
BUT the problem is some apps detect that i am not rooted:
I was trying to get Adaway / AdFree to work but they both say im either not rooted or cant find su binary.

}
SuperSU doesn't even pop up when i try to use AdFree/AdAway ( also re-installed 5+ times ).
Even Root Checker Detects that my phone IS NOT rooted.
But i do have SuperSU Pro and my phone IS rooted ( Other Apps can access Root also)
So i dont understand why these apps are saying im not rooted when i am.
Anyone know how i can fix this ?
Update super user, perhaps?

Shouldnt it be updated . I got the latest infamous S4 rom and installed SuperSU pro a few hours ago.
Also, i just looked in the play store and there isnt any new updates for SuperSU.
Solution found. Xprivacy was blocking certain apps that looked suspicious . Didn't even give me a notification that it blocks those apps.
The su binary are not present flash differant su one the includes the binary files

thank you. now the 2nd question is how to prevent this error. unsecure bootloader?
I don't have the answer to your 2nd query. I haven't yet attempted to root my phone.
I can only suggest to try again after unbricking, or use a different rooting method...
I'll leave this question to more experienced people here.

I already posted an inquiry to another thread. hopefully there is a simple way to load an unsecure bootloader, or a simple guide.

Have you unlocked the bootloader after rooting?i know, stupid question from me,but i have to be sure. Of course you unlocked the bootloader, because otherwise root is pretty useless, since you can't flash cwm and uninstall some system apps without having those issues you mentioned.
