Hi friends
I need to know if this model (E977), is compatible with all or part of the guides that I have here to the root, recovery and ROMs in general (I want to be like a Nexus 4).
This is the model that is distributed in Chile, which by the way is pretty cheap, or import the E973 from eBay
Greetings !!
Yep,my guess is the difference is made by the lte band.so you can root it,unlock it like r
E975.if it will say model not supported, just upload boot.img on freegee thread and shelnutt will make the solution and update the application.
My other guess is e975 roms will work on e977.
JUST DO NOT CONVERT IT TO NEXUS4.
Ps. Look on rooting thread, someone from chile already rooted it.

Surely I explained a little bad with the Nexus 4 ... I want to put AOSP (Cyanogen 10.1) I'm a fan XD
Yes,it is compatible.like ivsaid ,it's identical with e975

CM 10.1 E975 Intl install in E977
Anyone knows if the CM 10.1 for E975, is running in E977 ( Brazilian Version ) .
IMO the only problems can be the lte modem and the camera ( I think E975 is 8 Mpixel and E977 is 13 Mpixel )
Regards,
camera is the same. CM will work
E975=e977.difference is made by lte band

Additionally, can i backup E977 EFS folder and then restore it into E975 flashed firmware? Or...is there another procedure to get the modem? Obviously I want to keep LTE from Chile...
Guys, you don't need to flash stock e975 firmware before flashing custom roms.look in index thread, see all roms reported to be working on e977.if you flash a custom ,it will not change a thing regarding baseband/modem.can't remember them all,but official cm,pacman, paranoid are some of the roms working on e977.

Thank you for all your help but i make a mistake since the beginning in my posts... i didn't tell you that the only reason to make a rom change it's because a damn BATTERY DRAIN in all instances....or doing nothing (idle, deep sleeping, playing, etcetera).
Im still finding some person that can resolve this issue... so when i start posting here, am supposing that the 10d could make any difference in stability and corrects the UGLY BATTERY DRAIN ISSUE.
I recently bought my nice LG Optimus G, thinking that LG brand finally did a good job, with an open, fast, and nice phone...but again, i make a mistake changing my samsung galaxy s3!! In that time, i had a lot of time, spending with my family, friends, doing a lunch, etc...but now, im worried about how to make an improvement in the battery of my cellphone...woww!!!
So if you can give some info about fix that, i appreciate it a lot!!!!!!!!
Thank you...Greets from Chile...
Don't know what you are doing to your phone, but, compared to my gf's s3, my g lasts better, used in same conditions.
Just make sure there are no apps running in background, remove all unnecesary bloat, use greenify and es task manager to stop unwanted apps/services from runing when you don't need them.
Well i had a E977 from telefonica movistar venezuela, i made all modifications like normal E975 (root, unlock bootloader with freegee, recovery and custom rom) cyanogenmod work very well, with minimal ram usage (about 500/600 max usage) but with super batery drain in normal use (when screen is off, the batery not drain), my problem was when i try to go back stock, i get super brick my phone, i had to take to SAT and validate warranty because when you try to restore with recovery (twrp) not work (the recovery dont find the backup) and when you restore you bootloader with freegee, the phone get security error bootloop brick, when you use tinybin method, you phone get worse, you cant flash custom roms because when the rom boot, you get kernel error (even flashing other kernel), and can't restore with KDZ because the roms for E977 are more than 1gb, kdz updater not work with 1gb+ roms... then my recommendation is if you do not want to live with the phone with errors, stay in stock, if you like to experiment without caring anything, modify it.

Theorically you can use your E977 with a Digitel simcard if it's free. The only difference between the 977 and 975 is the lte, nothing else

Hi guys, firstly i wanna thank you for this wonderfull forum, i've been reading it in and out for the last 3-4 weeks.
I managed to successfully root and flash a HTC one, a HTC desire, my good Samsung s4, and then..
A friend of mine has an LG Optimus g pro f240s, bought from Amazon - from Korea SK Telecom, we live in Europe (Austria).
As we had some security problems with the old (not updated for a long time) software 4.2.2 early this year, we decided to flash a custom Rom.
That is where the trouble begins. Now, i managed to root the LG Optimus G PRO and to install a Cyanogenmod ROM.
Everything was fine, except there has been NO SIGNAL.
Then, a week later - the new Stock software came in 4.4.2 and i have tried to update it through the official software, and i also have followed the guides here on XDA developers (the ones with adb interface, marwin2, https server, and so on). Nothing.
Then i have discovered that my WIN 8 computer is not the ideal environment for this operation, so i've installed WIN7 and tried once more.
I have been able to flash the stock based LGViet Rom 4.4.2, also found on this forums. Still have been getting service disabled.
Then the official APP from LG has finally been reading the phone, so i have made an official update, now having the official - stock version of 4.4.2 LG SK Telecom software.
The modem reads the same one that was there upon buying the phone (original one), the phone behaves normally, but - SERVICE DISABLED!!!
Please help, i have no root, no custom recovery now, but a very good looking tablet without being able to do phone calls!
I have been thinking - could this be an SIMLOCK issue? I have bought the unlock codes, but i do not have the original SK Telecom Sim, so there is no way to enter them. I have tried these codes 2945#*240# or 2945#*975#, but there is just NO POP UP menu to enter the codes!
What should i do to get the service working?
Thank you
EDIT:
the phone reads phone number and IMEI correctly,
HW info:
Model nr LG-F240S
Serial number correct
Android version 4.4.2
Baseband APQ8064/MDM9x15M
Kernel 3.4.0
Build Nr KOT 491.F240Se
SW Version F240S20e
nobody having an idea? please?
Issue : LG Optimus G PRO F240S, rooted, then back to stock--> LGViet 4.4.2 Rom, then Stock by the LG stock tool
problem: SERVICE DISABLED
idea 1 - is it Sim Lock?
idea2 - no idea
pls
Have you tried *#*#4636#*#*?

Use this tool to root your f240: forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2699067
I have been tested the Sphinx gpro v3b since 4 months up to now without any bugs or FC. In my opinion is the best stable rom KK with improvements from stock. The battery discharge is normal. In a moderate use (wifi, calls, facebook, mail) keep working during 10 hrs at 15 percent at the end. I really recommend this rom !
Guys, i just can't install this ROM on e986. What i do:
1) flash stock 10b kdz E988 (works ok)
2) root, freegee, cwm
3) philz touch
4) this rom, select E988, and flash philz, don't reboot
5) exit to recovery, reboot recovery, loki patch seems to work
6) got stuck with LG logo forever.
Any ideas? Thx.
Hello dear forumites. This site has really helped me alot in the past to solve so many problems so I am first of all using this opportunity to thank all those who dedicate time to do alot of work and assist others.
Few months ago I bought an LG G2 Sprint which was unlocked for GSM because I had to ship it to my country. It came rooted and I saw somethings at that time that I didnt understand much, things like Xposed etc. Now I have much idea about those. What got me confused was when I decided it is time I try my hands on custom roms. I chose to use Cloudy G3 V2.0. Now the thing is , the phone came with Rayglobe Flex ROM and after doing some research here on XDA i discovered that ROM is used to unlock sprint usually. Infact I didnt know Sprint LS980 is originally meant to be CDMA.
One thing I was initially confused about while trying to install CLoudy G3 was determining what exactly my version was. It came in a Sprint Box almost new, had LS980 written on it at the back, but when I go to hardware information in the phone settings, its shows
Model number : LG D802
Software information shows:
Android Version: 4.2.2
Baseband Version: M8974A- ........ (letters and figures follow)
Kernel Version: 3.4.0
Build number: Rayglobe Flex 3.5
Software Version: D80211Z
So i'm like, can it be a D802 and also be an LS980?
Now I followed the instructions here on XDA and installed Cloudy G3 and chose Sprint Variant in the option, but when it was done, it was just stock on the LG bootlogo, left it for over 30minutes, restarted it, same thing. I had to restore back the Rayglobe, thank God I backed it up.áá
Now I decided maybe it was the Rayglobe causing problems so why not return the phone back to stock, again I got all instructions here and followed. I got stock here for a while because when i went to the page to download the zip file that has the .tot file for Sprint I saw three different ones :
LS980ZV8_13.zip
LS980ZVA_01.zip
LS980ZVC_12.zip
I dont know the difference between these 3 but i chose the first one but just while LG Flash tool became to flash the stock ROM I chose, it stocked after about 2 secs and said the phone model.
Lastly I decided to try cloudy g3 again. First time I tried it that it got stock on bootlogo, I installed, went back and wiped phone before restarting. This time I just installed and restarting straight, by the time it restarted I had a black screen with:
[xxx] Fastboot mode started
[xxx]udc_start()
* forgot the numbers representing xxx but i think one was 980 or so.
Really sorry for typing this much I just wanted to spell out all the problems encoutered. After this I had to restore back the Rayglobe. Right Now I seem to be stock with this rayglobe. What do I do please.
Note: I have not been able to move to kitkat because when I go to software update, it always tells me I am already using the lastest even though its on 4.2.2.

Thanks so much for your response. I will try to flash the stock ROM D802. But from your judgement, do you really think my phone might actually be D802 even when it came in a Sprint box and has "LG- LS980" written at the back of the phone?
Also can you paste here the exact link to the D802 firmware I need a there are so many different D802 on:
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/
Wow, I just discovered my Light sensor and rotation is not working, after the failed attempt to flash Cloudy G3 and also a failed attempt to Return to stock ROM. went back to the Rayglobe 3.5 that came with my phone but I just discovered my light sensor is not working. Phone not rotating. Camera takes pictures inverted (probably related to the rotation problem), screen doesn't go blank when I hold the phone close to my ear when in a call (probably related to light sensor), Auto brightness also not working. Please heeeeeeelp!!!

Well, that is what is written at the back of the phone and since it came in a sprint box when I bought it off ebay, i will guess so. But the hard were information says it's D802. I explained the dilemma in my first post.

Yes I have a custom recovery. Just to confirm, can this be undone? Let's say for example something goes wrong? Also I am on JB, no problem with that?

Hello friend. Why do you say it looks weird? Actually, I was able to install cloudy g3 in the morning. Though I got stuck at lg life is good logo for a long time, it eventually booted after many restarts. After that I discovered my data and mobile network was totally disabled. I followed the instructions to use tellinfo app and that got my data rectified but mobile network was still inactive and greyed out even after following the instructions. I did everything possible but my mobile failed to work to I had to return back to the old Rayglobe ROM. Check out earlier screenshot I took.
You simply had an ls980 with build prop mods (d802 visuals in info) and an old baseband. Flash zdc baseband and a 4.4.2 stock based ls980 or multi rom and you are ok

Hello friend. Thanks for your reply. But I searched the whole of this forum and google but couldnt find anything like zdc baseband. Please would you be kind enough to provide a link to this? Also when you say flashing a 4.4.2 stock, you mean using the LG Flash Tool right?
Do you also have an idea why my Light sensor and Auto Rotate are no longer working?
Is it advisable to do a complete wipe and then trying to flash back to stock afterwards? Cos my phone has been acting funny lately. Restarts often, hangs alot plus light sensor and auto rotate not working

Hey, I've just bought what I believe to be a korean LG optimus g pro, in software information, it says it is running on android 4.1.2 and the software version is LG-F240-EUR, and in phone identity it says the model number is LG-F240. In LG PC Suite it says it is the latest version and I can't update to kit kat. I also can't find any updates or stock android / cm11 4.1.2 roms for this phone, and when I do, it says it is for either F240K, F240L, or F240S, but none for just F240. I don't care much about updating to kit kat, but I would love to get a stock or smooth / lightweight + cm11 rom for this phone, anyone know where I can find one? Thanks in advance!
Forgot to say, I'm also already rooted and running CWM, so that's fine.

As you may already know, the E980 is what most people compile for. There is CM11 for the E980. Also, there are no CM11 4.1.2 ROMs as CM11 ROMs are all 4.4.+ ROMs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786566
You'll want to look at this when you flash a CM11 ROM to your F240.
I think you should check your imei, just to be sure your phone is F240 or not

^There, I took a screenshot of the settings (I can't post outside links so you will have to copy paste and remove space)
I'll post them here as well in text form:
Android version
4.1.2
Baseband version
APQ8064T/MDM9x15M
Kernel version
3.4.0
Build number
JZ054K-xmx
Software version
LG-F240-EUR
Any idea which variant of the F240 this is, and where I could get a CM10 or CM11 rom for it? I'm not bothered by being on an old android version, if it's CM for an older version then I'm happy with that as well.

I don't do walkthroughs for devices I don't own. Also if you don't know if it's f240 S/K/L then you might have some issues my friend.
The model # of your device should be printed on the back of the device when the battery cover is removed, both on the chassis itself and underneath the battery on the barcode+imei label.

Hmmm, let me get back to you. Are you using Windows? If so I could toss together a .BATch file to gank the necessary logs to identify your devices specific model and needs. I'm very familiar with the E980 needs, and pretty well familiar with the F240s/k needs, but I've not encountered a F240-EUR yet. I wonder which specific variant it is?
If you're familiar enough with Linux or command line ADB Android stuff, I could just shoot you some instructions on what to do. Need to research a little first; might be a few days, as I am without internet access, stuck bumming it where I can (pardon me, I'm a gutterdwelling dirtfarmer).

So is there a stock TOT you can flash with LG Flash Tools that works fine? If so, you could backup all your stuff then flash back to stock with LG Flash Tools. When the dialog pops up asking you which TOT & DLL to use make sure to tick the 'Enable XML Log' at the bottom of the dialog and choose somewhere to save the logs to.
After you're done with LG Flash Tool, it will generate three files:
- DiagCommand.xml
- setting.xml
- LOG\<model number>_COM41.log
The last one, the *_COM41.log is the most desirable, but all three would be useful.
What does a site like this tell you about the IMEI? Does the IMEI reported in the Settings->About->Status screen match the one listed on the label underneath the battery?
>as many said after updating the lg f240-eur the updaate was successful but the ssignal was lost forever
Which update is that? An OTA update? Kitkat? Lollipop?
Have you tried the F240L firmware for it? Have you had any success with *any* stock image?
At least that COM41.log will specify the stock firmware and model for the device -- as long as the right DLL is used maybe, as incorrect DLL can cause issues (for me, using F240 Lollipop DLL on an E980 I had modem issues (and probably more)). That can also be obtained from a parameter cat'able via ADB shell, but I cannot remember it offhand (not sure if the partition it's on is loaded by default?) -- can get back to you with that specific in a couple/few days if you choose not/cannot flash a stock TOT.
As always before you go mucking about, if there's any files you value on your device make sure to vacate them via backup.

hi...i checked it in the imei website(but not the one which u provided in the link) and it is shown as LG F240S.I will backup everything that i need. But what are the 3 files u mentioned?and what does com41 file for? if i flashed any rom or stock lollipop kdz for my f240s,then will i get issues with my phn network signals? actually before this g pro,i had both g2 and lg g pro f240l(both phns i gave to my cousins).i updated f240l to official lollipop and everything worked perfectly.but the case here is different.its lg f240-eur.im scared of doing experiments on this phn.moreover, the touch on the phn is sometimes unresponsive.need to double tap or need to lock phn sometimes inorder for the touch to work.so the touch prblm is due to the rom in this phn or the digitizer prblm???

Apparently they have official Lollipop for the F240S, so it seems like you should be fine with that. Just make sure the IMEI under the battery and the IMEI being reported in the About menu in the phone match, and it seems like you can't go wrong.
Touch problems, rom or digitizer? If the touch problems persist with stock Kitkat *and* stock Lollipop -- or with any other roms, then it's likely the phone. Digitizers are inexpensive and easy to install though, so if it is that you should have little problem replacing it. Check out Ifixit.com for their walkthrough on that for the E980. Simple stuff! Requires at most a precision screwdriver and maybe a hair dryer/heat gun (probably?).
> ut what are the 3 files u mentioned?and what does com41 file for?
That's unnecessary now that you've found the correct model number for your phone.

Hey there,
I'm using g4 since 06.2015 and i have never use anything custom for this phone. I had sony arc s before and i was doing lots of custom things on that phone cause it wasn't enough for daily use etc etc. And i have g4 now and i have 0 informations about how to root it or how to unlock it etc. But i have problem with it's battery usage. Nearly 4-5 hours screen timing which is not really awesome for this expensive phone ( it was quite expensive when i bought and countries have different prices as you know)
Anyways what do you suggest for me? Should i try customs? Is there any custom rom&kernel without any problem? Any lag problem or smt? Is there a way to lock bootloader again and delete root?
And i need some guides for starts. Maybe some rom and kernel suggestions. Please help me.

I'm not normally a huge supporter of custom kernels, but when I got my G4 a while ago I decided I'd give a few a try. It was a great decision.
So far my favourite is Imperium kernel- it's updated frequently with new features, and for me has been stable every single release. Plus I get WAY better battery life now (an extra hour of SOT at least, and standby time is much higher too). Highly recommend it.

Just read this.
If you have a locked bootloader, there's nothing you can do as far as a custom kernel or ROM goes.
You can downgrade to lollipop and achieve root, but it won't be the same as a custom ROM or kernel.

I would certainly think so! At the very worst you won't lose any battery, so you may as well try it if you already have TWRP installed. Just be sure to make a backup before installing in case you do want to go back.
HOW DOES EVERYONE GET 4 OR 5 HOURS SOT?!?!? I can barely get to 3.5 with an extended battery

I also am new to the whole LG scene- I think a backup of the system should be all you need, but you might want to double check on that.
I actually posted a thread about a similar question here but no one responded to it.
Alternatively, you should be able to just flash the default kernel or the default system over top and effectively be back to a completely stock ROM.
