Hi, I have my Defy for about a month and just now noticed 2 tiny stuck pixels of green/blue colour. They are actually visible only on black screen and in normal usage you can only find them if you know where they are, otherwise it only looks like a tiny particle of dust.
Since I only noticed it now it's too late for me to send it back
Have tried different software solutions and ran them over some nights, but nothing helped. So it seems they are permanent. I'm still on stock firwmare and havent flashed it yet.
It's sort of psychological thing... personally, I find it frustrating and it pisses me off because I know the problem is there and I have paid the full price for the phone to be perfect.
I was wondering how many of you experienced this and is there any chance that motorola would cover this problem under warrianty (in EU)?
My first Defy got a stuck pixel within the first week of me owning it. I phoned T-Mo and they sent me a replacement the next day. Before I did that though, I asked a T-Mo employee in one of their shops about it. He told me that if I couldn't get it sorted over the phone, to come back into the shop and they would help me get it replaced under warranty.
I don't really know how it all works but that was just my situation - hopefully it's of some use.
My defy that I just sold had two dead white pixels. One in the middle of the screen and one about the height of the volume rocker. Only visible on black screen though.

I have what seems to be a dead pixel that constantly seems to change color (when displaying darker colors it becomes visible) on the middle left side of the screen. I also seem to have one that flashes bright only once on top of the screen (not always, just when screen refreshes seem to occur).
Anyone else there having such problems with their X One? Sounds to be like a hardware problem..

a lot are experiencing the same mate, we don't know if its hardware or software no words from HTC so far
awaiting updates
Just found another (dead?) pixel. This one sits on the left side of the screen, and is only visible on grey or lighter backgrounds (not on black backgrounds). It is lighter than the rest when displaying a bight color, and sometimes flickery turns blue when swiping over colors on-screen.
Not all that disturbing, but I certainly don't like the idea of having a brand new phone with one (and potentially) two dead pixels on arrival.

Mine had 3 before I sent it back. Mine were dead, so stuck black.
Mine had a sticky pixel (the ones that can be seen over black background). It was visible only on very dark light conditions and over black background.
I wanted to go to the shop for replacement, but on that morning the pixel reactivated alone.
There are some apps on the play store that try to reactivate sticky pixel by changing the color of the screen very fast.
I doubt their effectivness, but they are worth a try.
I want to check One X for dead pixels in stock before I buy it.
How can I do LCD test at One X?
I try *#*#4636#*#* but I cant find LCD test here, so which code works for LCD test?

It is normally at the code you said, but seems to be missing on this handset. Use an Android app...there are quite a few.
But in stock Im unable to install any .app on it.
Any solutions how to check the display in stock?

Unless you have a very sensitive eye, I don't think you would be able to see a single dead pixel at the shop. The pixel density is so high that a single pixel is very very small. You need to watch very carefully to spot them.
Anyway, the best way to spot my sticky pixel was to take a picture covering the lens. You get a totally black picture, which you can view full screen and hunt for white/yellow/green/red pixels.
If the seller is veeeery patient you might be able to do that at the shop.
Maybe the same works for dead pixels, by taking a picture at a white wall.
What do the LCD experts think of this?
Anyway, all the apps on the play store for detecting dead/sticky pixel present the 3dots menu button. So they fail in detecting dead/sticky pixel in the bottom part of the screen.
Mine had a dead pixel along the top just right of the middle, I could only see it on dark colours. Took it back to o2 got a replacement there and then.

Attached a pic of the pixels I'm referring to. They are indeed 'stuck' pixels, not dead pixels. The one in the top only shows periodically. The other two are there constantly.
Also noticed the screen flickers on some apps. Now that I do find very annoying.
Requested a DOA return.
Mine was made in Taiwan.
i've been using the phone for a 3 days now, and i still have problem wit few pixels with exactly problem that is described in the first post. ota 1.28. did not help. did the pixel fix apps help, and if it did, how long have was the app active until the problem was resolved?

I am skeptical that running those apps will actually fix things. That was also why I returned that phone to be replaced. Got my new one today, and it has no dead pixels. It does however have a very vague yellow bar on the top of the screen. Almost not to be seen, only when the screen displays only white.
If it really is a problem, I'd contact my retailer and get it replaced.
I first noticed this about a month ago, when I was playing a game. The top and bottom edges of the screen are either noticeably brighter, or are at a different gamma than the rest of the screen. It used to be that it was only visible during full-screen apps, but now I can see it faintly during normal usage. I haven't noticed it getting any worse in the past couple of weeks, but the screen is grainier than it was the first month I had this phone. I know it's not a ROM issue because I see it despite using different ROMs and kernels, and I can see it happen with the phone is first started up, before the OS can load.
Since this is not the same as the typical burn-in issue, does anyone know if there is a fix for it?
Get the screen replaced man. Doubt there is any simple fix for this.
I had ghosting issues and Verizon replaced it free of charge. Replacement is PERFECT.

So, my nexus is 2,5 years old. Since half a year ago it got wet in the rain (while in my pocket). When I got home and checked the phone, it had a vertical white line on its display. I also had charging issues, but that was solved rather quickly. without me doing anything. But the white line was still there. For about 2 or 3 months the white line was disappearing and coming back occasionally. But after a few months the line was there permanently. I think it's one defect LED of the display or something. But the particular white line is brighter than the highster screen brightness.
When my screen is on, the line is there, but when I shut off the display, it disappears.
Anyway. What is this and is there anything I can do to solve the problem WITHOUT letting the screen get repaired completely (as that would be a huge waste of money for a 2,5 y.o. phone)?
Here's a picture for clarification.

Doesn't look like a software problem.
so replacing the display is your only shot.
I'm not sure if it's right forum or not but I just wanted some opinions regarding an issue I'm getting with my 2 year old Note 2 (GT N7100). Recently suddenly i noticed a burn type thing in one corner of the display. Since then it has slowly grown in the last few days. It is especially noticeable on white background.
What I'm guessing is that the digitizer is gone. But just a guess. Can somebody actually help me out a little to think what else could be a problem? As mentioned it's a 2 year old GT N7100 running CM12 having a tempered glass screen protector.
