new to one V few questions

hi
first i just got mine yesterday and i did look around could not fine my answers is why im asking here sorry if it has been asked and answers i just could not find them
1. my wifi is connecting to my home Wifi but i cant use the internet
it just says no connection - im using BSNL india as my internet provider
im facing this problem only at my home with the one V
i have a Tab it works i have Toshiba laptop it works right now im working on wifi
pls give me a solution for the same
2.without root ie right now can i get the wifi/bluetooth/soud widgets on the drop down ie just their so i can click and use when i want to instead of going into settings and doing it
3. if i root is their some way i can flash back the orignal os to give for warranty purpose if needed
for example my old phone ie Ideos X6(spice Mi410) i can flash the orignal OS using a tool and get back the original 2.3.4 if needed to be given for service in fact i did it before giving it for exchange and getting the one V:laugh:
the same can also be done for samsung using the too called odin

#1 have you tried the wifi without encryption? also yesterday in your other thread, i did suggest trying an update...

i did use the internet pass through and got the phone update to the recent version ie 2.09 and im having this problem only at my home at office and other places it working fine just cant get it ill also try as mentioned by you

it MIGHT be the encryption method being used....i cant test this myself at the moment as my device is in for repair...at home i use WPA2

#2 you can pull down the notification bar, and tap on the carrier name. That will bring up toggles. Or you can just use the ics power widget.

same things happening with me.. at home wifi doesn't work but at my friends place it does

is that really possible on the stock HTC rom? i thought thats a feature of my custom rom...

[Q] WiFi Touble In JB Roms

Hi , I Have Xperia Play With Unlocked BootLoader And GSM ...
I Tried Alot Of JB Roms (PACman , Paranoid , AOKP , SlimBean ) But I Always Ended Being Disappointed Because Of A WiFi Problem In All Of Them ... I tried Lupusv8 and turbu kernels but the same happened ... iflashed wifi moduls for lupus and nothing changed .
- The Problem : When I turn on wifi , it searches and find all nearbies wifi networks , but when i put the password and press Connect >>> It Says "Not In Range" even i am near the router !
PLZ Help Is This A Bug Or It Only Happened On My Phone ??????

flash the original image of your xperia play, flash doomlord or lupus and flash the wifi modules, the reason being is that all the markers will be reseted back to the original

I have same problem but in pac MAN and aokp ther is an option in advance(Wi-Fi region code)if you put it to United state you can connect to any wireless network

All I can say is that all custom apps installed in this rom can be removed without root.
For what .211 brings, compared to .200, search on the forum

I'm not mysterious. I took the time to download it and to share it. I have just installed it to be sure it flashes OK. I saw many custom apps can simply be removed. I didn't test anything else.

You never never need to unlock anything ... neither to have root to flash any FTF.

I was looking for the MEA one to hopefully solve if the Wifi issue in Syria

More Deatils .. if you're interested (sorry for posting here)
I tried the official update via PC Companion (after relocking) but still I had the same problem (phone freezes completely after turning WiFi on)
I Live in Syria.. and I read somewhere that changing the "operator.sim.numeric" value would help, but not for me, I tried "setprop" and MarketEnabler.. The "operator.sim.numeric" value changed alright, but the problem is still present
for now I flashed back 6.1.A.2.55 and WiFi is working as expected (so I know for a fact it's not a hardware problem as some people suggested)
if someone please can figure this out and suggest a road start, I would be so grateful, Sorry again

Thank you, I confirm that the FTF is working good.. I flashed it with no problems
but the Wifi issue is still there.. but I confirm its not the ftf problem, it all on Sony side with Syrian Sim Cards
however.. removing the SIM magically makes the Wifi Work Again!

[Q] How to solve GSM signal problem ?

My Samsung Galaxy Note II is having the gsm signal problem... i have rooted my phone and installed a new ROM but after i installed it signal gets lost and doesn't come back... i tried to find some help and i founded the Ariza Patch method but that didn't solved the problem... then i noticed that my phone's wifi was also not working so i installed the wifi patch for that i that WORKED !! and the wifi now is working but the mobile gsm signal is not working !! then i couldn't find any way to fix that so i installed the stock 4.1.2 Rom [ ORIGINAL ] and that also had the same problem but then again tried the Ariza Patch method and this time that worked !!
Now i want to know that when i install any custom rom that has the same gsm signal problem and i cant use any new rom because of that problem... Now i have to use its original ROM.
CAN ANY ONE HELP ME TO GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED ??? WHAT SHOULD I DO TO GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED ???

The network problem is of out of service thing and this is on every rom i tried to fix but no avail same problem is on my anothrr note 2 and it wont work please anny help !!

yes I performed a clean install but still i didn't work... every things work perfect when i flash a new ROM except for this network problem !!
I don't know that whats the problem... the sim is picked by the mobile but it shows out of service thing and emergency call only... !!

Let me tell u its one of a kind problem
I have tried everythingg on the same rom
Efs problem is nott there its not a hardware its some kind of software + modem problem stocl 4.1.2 modem works only ariza patch and if apllied on 4.3 modem the imei changes to null and etc stuff .. tried 3 diff roms
I guess professional devekopee support is required

APN are for data my friend the phone has no service
it says out of service and mobile network state is disabled
its like the phone is in airplane mode but the sim is inserted and piked up by the phone
when u call the same phone there is pulse but the phone doesnot show nor it does call on any number
it says sim not registered or something like this
the sim card works on everyother phone except the note 2 !!!

Please help me, look, I'll explain my situation, I have an XPERIA S LT26, I bought locked to a carrier, or at least that's what I though. My deviced stopped getting software upgrades from Sony, so I though, cyanogenmod, why not? So I started searching for info and stuff, I realized that my bootloader was locked and with: "Unlocked Allowed: No", so Sony told me that I had to unlocked the phone with the SIMLOCK code, so I get the code, and when trying to input it with a friends microSim, supposedly "not acceptable", the phone started normally and never asked my for the code... and it was completly functionable! I was able to call with he's microSim and everything, for some reason the 3G for the internet didn't worked... I don't know what to do, in the service menu of my device it appears the "X" on Network and then a 5, on everything else there's no X and there's some 0...So i guess this means is still locked? But as I told you the phone worked great with another sim...
PLEASE HELP I NEED TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, INSTALL CYANOGENMOD IS MY DREAM.... :crying:

You dont have to unlock bootloader to install Cyanogenmod.. there is a workaround to install Cyanogenmod 10 on Xperia S without unlocking bootloader! check this link and follow the steps.. its pretty simple.. good luck! :fingers-crossed:

It's Awesome! I've already flash it! It's there a way that this could lead to CM 11 to locked bootloaders? Or at least 10.2 10.1?

Nope, I don't thinks so.. they havent got a workaround to install CM11 for locked bootloaders yet.. (CM11 still has bugs) :/ wait with patience.. it might come up soon! :fingers-crossed:

Sorry bro, bad luck for you.. You cant get CM11 on locked bootloader.. because the latest version of android for SXS is 4.1.2 and has a kernel for 4.1.2, that's why CM10 worked.. because the kernel is supported.. if you need 4.4 KitKat.. you need to have 4.4 kernel.. since you cant get 4.4 kernel with locked bootloader.. its kinda impossible for you to get KitKat.. lets hope someone finds a workaround for that if its possible.. :fingers-crossed:
btw, CM10 is pretty awesome.. smooth and good on the battery and has no actual bugs except for a very very rare freeze on the recent apps screen.. a bug that you probably wont come across..

Sorry to heard that... Anyway, I think I should be able to unlock my bootloader, I mean I have the SimLock code, but as I told you before I'm having problems... Any idea how can I unlock it?
PD: So CM 10.1 or 10.2 should be able to run on locked bootloaders?

If it's not a problem, try this.. I'm not sure if it will work.. But it's worth a shot if you want bootloader unlocked so badly..
Use Emma flash tool from Sony..
Flash the latest 4.1.2 stock ROM (world)..
(when you select the rom to flash, Check if there is a file called simlock.ta on the right side, if it's there.. Uncheck it and then flash)
After flashing the clean rom.. Check again in the service menu if bootloader unlock is allowed..
If not use your friend's sim again and check if they ask for sim lock code..
Hope It works..

I'll definitely try it soon... Hey btw do you know how to get colored emoji on CM 10? Like the Iphone ones? I know perfectly how to input them, but I havent figure out how to view them, I mean, seriously, the black and white emoji are awful...

Not exactly sure, but try this.. install the codec in the first link.. and then download the keyboard in the second link to type those emoji..

Didn't work... The first one is just an app where you copy and paste black and white emoji in to it and then it shows it colored... but whitin the app...
Any other idea??

Oh, sorry bout that, my bad.. :/ did some research on it and no luck.. it seems that you can't get colored emoticons on android unless we get official 4.4, or some dev has to port it from 4.4.. :/ if we need colored emoji we have to modify system fonts for emoji, and its too much of advanced work.. hope someone ports it for 4.1.2 cuz I don't think Xperia S will get any new update..
