I'm running CM10.1 4/23, and i have this really small but annoying bug.
When you're in an app(ie messaging), when you hold the home button, and go to the recent app switcher, your supposed to see this sweet animation if the app getting zoooming out.
I sometimes see this animation, some times I don't... its getting really really really annoying. When I reboot, It usually works the first time, then the animation no longer appears 2 more times, then the animation appears once again.... Is it possible I could keep that animation on, or just turn it off completley. I've had to go back to touchwiz because I can't stand this stupid error...

I forgot all about the "task manager" trick with the home button. I've been playing with it for the last day now, and every time I get the animation. Both when I long press the home button to get to the app list, and then when I clear either one, or all at once. I'm currently on 5/11 nightly, so maybe it's fixed in the newer releases. Actually 5/11 nightly has been spot on. Super smooth, and no issues at all. I'm currently on 32 hours up time cause there is no RR, SOD, or reason to reboot. Maybe give it a try.
I just tried 5/11 and I'm still getting it
I don't clear all. I go toessagimg, go to task switcher, click messaging again, go to task switched the second time..... repeat process ....
The second the onwards, the. Zooming out animation dissappears

What do you mean by multiple messages? More than one at the same time or just a lot back to back?

If he is trying to send more than 30 in 30 minutes than he needs to go to settings-security- sms message limit and change it from default 30 to whatever he wants up to 500.
Can someone look at my original problem?

I believe he just doesn't know how to add multiple people in the "to:" Field. I know how to do it manually but he always sends out mass "just for today" n.a. readings to allot of people. I would show him but I'm not sure with jelly bean and cm10.1. Since my phone has its wip cm10.1 I haven't installed it on my metropcs lg spirit yet.

seems like everytime I open a text message and go to respond, the keys dont work. I can feel the haptic feedback but no text is entered. I have to exit the app and reenter.. Its not only in Messages, but all apps. Other buttons on the screen seem to work, but the buttons do not.
anyone else been noticing this?
Yup!
I've noticed it most typing in the text box of forums... though it is inconsistent.

Yeah mine does that too and it takes a few seconds to get out of the loop then it can type again. Kinda weird wonder if any fix to this.
Keyboard Issues
+1 to this issue
One exception: My keyboard is typing but it doesn't visually show what I'm typing. When I close the keyboard and reopen it the words I typed then show, but nothing typed further will show unless I close the keyboard and reopen it again.......Again this issue is inconsistent.
I've only had this issue since the 2.2 update.
Anyone got a fix yet?
is anyone running the Overclock widget? It seems like once the message pops up "overclock widget has been granted superuser permissions" everything returns to normal... until I go to respond again ahhhhh
i have the same problem i was wondering if anyone knows how to fix it i thought my phone was goin bad really quickly because i like just got it a couple weeks ago but i dont know what the deal is
if i goto messages i can press all the keys and nothin comes up and if i go to landscape the box is gray and i feel it has to kick in later
another problem i have been having is when i click on to call someone itll call them like 20 seconds later instead of immediately anyone else get this problem too?
i find that if I turn the phone into landscape mode, click the bubble, then turn the phone right side up again.. It works... seems more like a software bug then anything.. or something to do with the sensors.

Yea it is a general problem i uninstalled all my keyboards and have the stock one and i still get the same problem
i did an task 29 on my phone, flashed the 4.49.25.17 radio (also tried different radio's, did not make any difference), and then flashed the latest simplicity rom.
as the the title says, my friends are complaining about getting random old messages i already had send them before.
for exaplme: this morning my girlfriend said: how can it rain there its the sky is clear here.. i asked wtf? i never said its raining here, so then she said i sended that to her
then i looked into my sent items, i saw nothing but i can remember sending 4 days ago something like that, so what my phone did was resend an message from 4 days ago.
and this happend with every other rom so far.
I can't re-create the problem because i dont know what i causing it.. and its also just random messages.
I do know that, people only get resended messages i have send to them before, so for example, my girlfriend does not recieve any old messages i have sended to someone else.
But as you can all guess, this is kinda anyoing and i was wondering if any one else is having this problem?
btw. i tried running frx06 with success and i dont have the text message problem on there, so i can assume its an problem in windows mobile?
bump? its really anyoing lolz
I've had this problem b4 when switching between WM and android????????
I wish that I could help more but I don't know of a fix Sorry

nope, its not fixed, my friend got yesterday 2 old messages again..
btw. it happend while i was writing an text, and i pressed the "FN" button to get the "<" symbol (i was making an heart lol)
but when i pressed the FN button, the symbol screen did not popped up but instead the message list (in threading) scrolled up a couple messages.. right after that she said that she got some old messages from me..
is this maybe the cause for it? the not correct loading of the symbol screen that causes message resending..
it btw. happend before that the symbol screen would not load (never made an problem of it) but now come to think of it, i think those times they also complained about getting old messages.
This "second" problem of the not loading of the symbol screen happens randomly, when it fails to load i just exit the message screen and open up the message screen again and then the symbol screen just loads fine.
(sorry for my bad language, its not native =] )
hope this clears some things up..
Hmmm, never had this happen to me before, except the old messages part. I would wipe the system to start fresh, that should work. Backup anything you need.
I also have a problem with the FN button, it shows up but when I choose a character, it doesn't appear in the text screen.

It is slow on purpose.

So that if you are in bed and turn sideways it doesn't just keep switching, and other similar situations.
No guys, I mean REALLY slow, as in 5-10 seconds. Sometimes I have to keep movin it around untill it turns. Today however its really playing up and not turning at all.. haha

I find that actually it's the exact opposite.
When I want it to rotate, I need to wait ages (sometimes tapping the screen while waiting makes it faster).
When I lie in bed, it very often rotates when I don't want it to, and then I wait ages for it to switch back to the previous mode.
That pretty much forces me to disable automatic rotation every time I am in the bed. Whatever they tried to achieve with this, either they failed completely or I am somehow mysteriously missing the point..

Mine has been staying, and being used to the HTC Desire spinning instantly it was a bit strange at first. As regards to the tapping, there are some modes where tapping is what rotates it and it wont until you do.

I mean in applications like the stock Browser. I'm not 100% sure, but 99% that it rotates faster if I tap the screen as compared to just waiting.

Hello everyone,
I just bought my S3 last Sunday. Since then I have noticed several issues with it and I'm wondering if it's worth exchanging. They seem to be both software and hardware issues.
1. It's pretty laggy. For such a "groundbreaking" phone this is lagging much more than my old Sensation. It's rarely smooth switching between screens and going from lock screen to home screen is also laggy. Overall, it's not very smooth. Is this common on this device? Maybe I'm expecting too much.
2. The music player skips and repeats A LOT. Whenever a song is playing, it will constantly have gaps in the music. It will just stop playing for a brief second but then continue normally. It also will repeat parts of a song, such as saying some lyrics twice.
3. Whenever someone calls me, my voice sounds "distant" to them. If I call someone my voice sounds totally normal but when I receive the call I am either echoing or I sound like I'm holding my phone away from my face.
I guess my biggest problem is the lag. It really bothers me since it's supposed to be such an amazing and smooth phone. It takes several times longer to load apps and things than my old Sensation did, and I don't have many apps installed at all. Opening the app drawer is consistently laggy as well.
Are these common issues or do you guys think it would be worthwhile to exchange the phone? As of right now, I'm not very pleased with it.
Thanks for all your input, guys!
Edit: Also, whenever I hit the home button it takes several seconds to load it up. Is there a way to speed this up?
Also, I am not rooted yet. I always like to spend a few weeks with the stock setup before rooting.
Edit 2: Last thing, S Voice is a piece of **** on this. Literally. It takes FOREVER to load up and RARELY does what I say. Does this actually work for you guys or is S voice generally useless?

Smooth as butter.
Have you tried installing the latest OTA? It may help with some of your problems. For the home key lag, double press to open s voice, then go into settings and turn off double press home to open.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
1. Try this. Settings >Developer Options > Window animation scale ->change to 0.5x or off. Transition animation scale >animation is off
Also make sure Do not keep activities under developer options is unchecked. Check it first then uncheck it. This should solve the redraw issue on teh homescreen (at least it did for me)
2. Did not happen to me
3. Turn off noise reduction
For the distant sound issue open the dialer>call settings>additional settings>uncheck noise reduction. Even running unrooted the interface should be very smooth however.

that is yet another odd thing about my device. it claims I have the latest OTA, when I know I don't. Also, it says the music hub is still unavailable (even though I know several people who have it running)
I haven't actually used s-voice myself, but a lot of reviews said it wasn't very good.
Another thing you can try for the lag you mentioned is in Developer Options, change the Force GPU Rendering option.
Also try limiting background processes to 3 or 4. Though you shouldn't have to resort to this. If other options don't work id still take it back for exchange.

I just tried all the things you listed in number 1 and it is definitely faster, in a way. When I click the home button, the wallpaper pops up immediately. To speed up the home screen button:
Double tap home screen (bring up s-voice)
Tap menu softkey
Tap settings
Uncheck launch s-voice
You will need to do this with your new device as well.
And s-voice is generally useless, or as far as I've found.

Is anyone having any issues with their 2013 N7 freezing? I've had it completely freeze up on me once, and several time just today it has had major input lag (like 2-3 seconds later) or would just not accept input. It hasn't been localized to any particular app.
Is this a common problem? Should I just go exchange mine?
Seems like a software issue which can be easily remedied.

When I first got my new Nexus 7 I did notice some "freezes" and unresponsiveness. Touches that would go unrecognized (links in the browser, back button). did a factory reset and watched it in case I decided I needed to exchange it. But it is seemed to improve and I rarely run into the freezing.
I've so far not returned/exchanged it, but an still keeping an eyes on it.
I have most certainly experienced a heavy freeze period while typing on the onscreen keyboard. While typing in all the credentials on first set-up I experienced moments of almost 20 seconds of non-response, followed by all input entering as if it was lagged out network style.
Rooting and flashing a new rom, this has yet to happen. This is why I love Android so much... its community knows that it is Unix and treats it as such.
Yea mines freeze sometimes

I was wondering if its really the kernal that's causing the freezing. My N7 2013 right now freezes after about 15 minutes of turning it on, and the only way to unfreeze is by holding down the power for 10 seconds. My tablet will constantly do this after each turn on, but once I placed it in safe-mode there is no freezing. I am thankful that mine doesn't have the touch screen issue though! but this freezing problem is really driving me bonkers.
I nodded off for a few minutes the other day when I had FBReader up and when I woke up and tried to exit it was non-responsive. I get the impression FBReader forces the screen to stay on, but perhaps everything else goes to sleep anyway? That's the only freeze I can remember seeing.
